Hey,
This is a sorta (not) random question.. How can i meet cute, sweet guys? I am turning 17, I live in a tiny town, and there are not any decent guys living where I am, they are jerks. I am not ugly or anything, I am a very open minded, lovable, sweet, athletic, fun girl, and I am not afraid to be myself. I just have bad luck when it comes to meeting guys and must be doing something wrong. Whenever I go out places, all the nice guys seem to be taken... there are never any that seem interested, looking,or even giving me hints (that i know of). I know boyfriends arent everything, but it is something that would make my world a lot happier. I know there is a part of whoever is reading this thinking "boys can just be trouble", but I believe having a special someone in my life would do me a lot of good, since I have no one. My best friend dumped me for my brother (some friend) and I dont have any close friends in my life. I need someone *special* but how to find love/a guy is the problem. There must be decent, lovable guys out there.. I just wish they werent too many miles away :/ :p
"There must be decent, lovable guys out there.. I just wish they werent too many miles away :/"
Oh how I agree with you on that one...
Anyways, meeting guys can be tricky. You just need to talk to different guys. You need to give everybody a chance, even when they seem like they're "not your type". Judging guys and only giving cute guys or whatever the time of day will get you nowhere.
That being said, just start looking around when you're out. When you're at the mall, talk to the guy next to you in line. When you're at the movies, talk to the guy working the concession stand. You know what I mean? There ARE good guys out there, but you have to go through bad guys to get to them. haha :)
Good luck!

My favorite kind of music is the singer/song writer acoustic music. The john mayer, jack johnson, jake coco, ben harper, ben folds, jason mraz, dave barnes.
Question:
Are there any more unknown artists that i can find music like this from? I'm not a fan of the main stream music... and no DMB please. Thanks in advance!

why shouldn't a 14 year old get her nose pierced
You're too young. There's a good chance you'd end up regretting it in the future =/

My ex and I broke up quite a while ago, but I still have feelings for him. We are both 16, and I know that he's probably just immature and that gemini's have a split personality and are flighty, but is there anything I can do to get him back? We are pretty good friends now and we talk every now and then. He used to like me a lot, and I was the only girl that he's made his official girlfriend in a while.. so I'm kind of hoping that counts for something. Thank you.
The only thing you can do it talk to him and tell him how you feel.
Let him know that you still have feelings for him and they just won't go away. It's really the only thing you can do right now. Maybe he feels the same way? You'll never know unless you try talking to him.

i heard that smothering your hair in mayonaise and leaving it on for two hours then after washing it rinsing it with viniger will get rid of head lice. Is this true?
I don't know how affective this method is, but I wouldn't do it. It sounds messy and really unsanitary.
Go to the doctor or the pharmacy and get a reliable treatment instead :)

I am going into eighth grade this coming school year and I can either go to a school where my beach house is while my house gets redone (I am going to be living in my beach house either way) or go to the school in the town i am in now, 30 min away from my beach house. i dont have many friends but i am starting to make some. i dont know which school to go to. advice??
I agree with Jack. If you're starting to make friends, stay with them. Friends are an important part of life, and if you're starting to make them, don't lose them!

My boyfriend and I have been dating for 9 months. Before we started dating, we were really good friends, but about 4 months after we started dating I got really bored with him. He is also REALLY obsessed with me and I still want to be his friend which is why I haven't broken up with him. However, in a month we are going to New Jersey together because his parents invited me. They paid for the extra hotel room and everything for me already. I want to break up with him but I don't know if I should do it before I go on vacation with him, or after. Thanks for any help you can give me ♥
Break up with him now. If you're over him, there's no use forcing yourself to stay with him. Plus, he might think you only stayed with him to go on vacation (which I know you're not, but he might get that impression and that would suck).
Maybe he can find a friend to bring with in your place?

are tampons suppose to hurt alot when you take them out? i use tampax pearl and i used a light one and i took it out after like 5 or 6 hours and it hurt to get out. it did have blood on it but how do you know when you're positive its fully absorbed?
It hurts the first few times, yes, but your body should get used to it after the first few times.
You're going to feel it every time, but it shouldn't exactly hurt. If it does, you might be putting it in wrong.
And 5-6 hours is a good amount of time to leave it in, as the advise time for tampon use is 4-8 hours.

I have liked this one boy for almost 9 months and i'm almost over him. The problem is that my heart doesnt want to let go but my head does. What should I do?
http://www.advicenators.com/qview.php?q=564711
From there:
I have found, firsthand, that the best way to get over a guy is to do the following:
Step 1: Have a really good cry.
- When my boyfriend and I broke up, I was super upset (like words cannot describe how bad I felt). But I told myself that I wasn't going to let it flip my entire world upside down. So I let myself have one really good cry, and then I told myself I'm going to start moving on. Which brings me to...
Step 2: Friends = lifesavers.
- Go to the mall and buy yourself something nice (don't over spend, though. Just something small, but nice. Like a new outfit or purse!) Or go see a movie, or out to dinner or something! Don't mope around your house all day doing nothing.
Step 3: Talk about it.
- It feels SO good to let it all out. Sit down with somebody you trust (for me, it was my mom) and just spill your heart out. Again, don't let it ruin your life or impact you too much.
Step 4: Move ON!
- Stop talking to him for a while (you need to give yourself time to get OVER him). Don't stalk his Facebook, spend time with other people, and don't even waste time TALKING about him.
Honestly, it's going to take time, and it's going to be hard, but once you get over him you will feel SO much better. I promise you that this guy is NOT worth wasting all of your time on, and that there are plenty of other fish in the sea. Go out and find a new guy that treats you right and is WORTH your time. Forget about this guy ASAP. You're young and have plenty of time for guys. And, as one of my favorite books puts it: The first boy is always the hardest.
Best of luck! :)

17/F... Well me and my bf (19) have only been dating like 3-4 months and things are great. we get along and we always have fun together. I'm the second girl he's has ever dated and the only one he has had sex with. He doesn't really like to share how he feels about me or other things that often(but what guy does). So anyway the problem is that im a junior and he's graduating this year. The college he wants to go to is in chicago for two years. And we live in kentucky. He wants me to try to stay together but the only time I will ever get to see him is when I get my breaks at my school and stuff because he goes all year to school and they hardly ever get out. Should I take the risk if that he wont find someone else in chicago?
Long distance relationships are hard, I'm working on one now. I think you should try it if you really like him, because in the end, it might turn out to be the best decision you ever made.
There are going to be days you want to give up, and there will be days when you thank God you decided to try it, though, so be prepared for an emotional relationship as well as the whole long distance thing.

what does spotting mean when a girl is on her period and is it usually brown or red?
Spotting is totally normal. When the blood is brown or red, it might just mean your period is ending. But like I said, it's totally normal :)
-Laura (17-f)
EDIT:
if you get your period, you're not pregnant.
I am looking for instructions on how to do simple hairstyles. Preferrably something that will take me no longer than 15-20 minutes, less time is even better. I have dark brown hair that is about an inch past my shoulders, and it is fairly thick. Naturally it is wavy, but the waves are very thick. I'm looking for a variety of styles so different buns and ponies, different hair accessories to use, hairstyles for when my hair is down, anything would help. Thanks :)
Seventeen magazine always has sections with simple, quick styles in their issues.

I had a stye on my eye last night and i kept a hot towel on it. when i woke up this morning my whole top eye lid was swollen. What happened? what did i do wrong? or could it be something else?
My younger brother had a sick, nasty stye on his eye last summer. My mom took him to the doctor and they gave him some type of ointment for it. It took a few weeks, but it cleared up just fine.
I'd suggest checking in with your doctor so they can give you something to get rid of it as fast as possible, and prevent it from getting worse.

I'm 13 and I reallllyy like this guy, more than I've ever liked anyone before. He's all the qualities i want in a bf. Lots of people say he likes me back, but boys are so hard to read! He doesn't send any signals as to if he likes me or not. I can't tell at all. I really like him though and I want to know. What should I do?
Well, there are 2 major options you can go about to solve this problem:
1. Be blunt about it.
2. Be shy about it.
I highly suggest being blunt about it, and either asking him if he's into you too, or simply asking him out yourself. Guys like when girls show confidence, and there's no better way to show you're confident than walking up to a guy and asking him out!
Or, you can go the other route and be shy about it, possibly doing nothing to show him you're interested in him. Sometimes, people who use this method drop subtle hints such as smiling [which is common in girls and doesn't always show you're into a guy] or having a friend ask if he's into you [this only shows that you're too shy to do it yourself]. This option is really kind of stupid, and is used all too much...
As I always say:
Life is WAY too short to not take chances and risks once in a while. Why sit around wondering what could've been, what would've been and what should've been, when you can answer all of those questions and then some by being honest and telling a boy how you really feel about him?
-Laura (17-f)
Ok there is this friend were ONE minute...they are so nice...and next they are mean and snotty...i also hear from other people that they are talking bad about me and making fun of me...idk what to do...should i just never talk to them again?..HELP
There are 2 options here:
1. Confront them.
2. Forget about them.
With the first, you sit down, talk to them, and let them know what's up. Tell them you don't appreciate their bipolar friendship game, and you'd like for it to stop because true friends don't treat you like that.
With the second, you just stop talking to them and find new friends who don't dump you one day and talk bad about you after doing so. You find a new group of people that you enjoy hanging out with, who will treat you right.
The decision is up to you, but I advise a combination of the two. I think you should talk to them, and find new friends to hang out with, too.

im a 15 year old boy and it may sound strange coming from a boy but i have been with my girlfriend for a long time and we both have agreed to have sex and im starting to get nervous becasue i dont wana let her down and i need to know what to do to give her the most pleasure.
I agree with Christina. If you're that nervous, you probably aren't ready. And that's perfectly OK; plenty of people your age aren't ready for sex yet. Why not wait until you ARE completely comfortable with the idea of having sex? I think it will save you a lot of stress and nervousness. And I'm sure your girlfriend will understand, too.
By the way- it's not strange at all, it's actually really cool of you to admit that you're nervous about it.

i am 13 and i started living with my aunt and uncle around a year ago. i like thi sboy named dj, and he likes me too. we've been kissing and stuff, and it got far enough one time that he had my shirt off. i had on thia gray bra, and he kept looking at it like i was... well, immature. i want to buy thongs and bras that are kinda girlier, but i don't know how to ask my aunt?
You're only 13, you don't need to be buying thongs (or taking your clothing off with boys for that matter!)
If you want to buy some better bras (which I think is OK), just be honest with your aunt. She'll appreciate your honesty and I'm sure she will be more than happy to take you shopping :)
