i'm in a string quartet and i know that spring/summer is a busy time for weddings. we're already booked for one in march, but we really want to play in a lot of weddings. we're all 15/16, sophomores, but very good. how do we get the word out so people know we do weddings? and how much should we charge per person, per songs? thanks!

You could post ads in the local newspaper, under the classifieds section. You could also get business cards made and distribute them to bridal stores, so when the brides go shopping they will see them. Also, print fliers and hand them out to local businesses. I know where I come from, they have a bridal fair once a year and all the people that offer goods, go and set up booths to advertise for their businesses. Also, I would charge a per event fee. Charging per person would go along the lines of individual settings, i.e. food, drinks, that kind of thing. Good Luck!

My best friend is my ex boyfriend and vica versa. we werent too close when we first started dating so our friendship has defanately sprung from our relationship. We had lasted for 8 months almost exactly. We broke up about 7 months ago and we're closer than ever. He dumped me because he couldn't handle a girlfriend because he's having wicked badfamily problems (his dad has drug issues) and apparently he claimed that he liked me as a really really godo friend. anyways, I had asked him if he wanted to get back together twice since breaking up (4 mths ago or so) he said no, and that it's just a dumb LABLE. I asked him if we'd ever get back together, he said "probably not" That crushed me.
Anyways, so we're super close, everyone srsly thinks we're dating. He's always there for me, like when i left my headlights on, he came and rescued me with a jump cable. He is THE BEST. Today, i forced him into watchinga romantic film (Casablanca) and i was kiddingly playing with his hair and he got Fake mad. Then he grabbed my hand and wouldn't let go, even in front of his grandma. He has cute nicnames for me too... and like- idk all fingers point towards "He still loves me" but idk.. .what do you think?

I agree, he definitely still likes you. This is his way of having a relationship with you, without calling you his GF. If you two still have a "relationship" going on, don't worry. At least, he's not going around with other girls and leaving you alone completely. Of course, that could be the other problem, he may want to keep you but have his fun too, and by not being BF and GF, he isn't technically cheating. I would look for signs of this possibility. If this is the case, honey, I'm sorry, but you need to cut him loose. If not, then just go with it. You are with him and that's all that matters. Right?

ok so a friend of my sister and i came over for the holidays from college. and at the beginning she use to ask if she could enter or use the phone and stuff like that. my sis and i were raised to always be nice to guests and be very hospitable. and we have... thing is she stopped asking for stuff and she knows perfectly well that we won't say no. for example she calls about 7 times a day (i am not exaggerating) to her family internationally and long distance just to "chat"... i mean fine it was the holidays and she called her parents and sibs but HELLO just because my parents look like they pick money from a tree that they should pay this high expensive bills...

so.... what should i do? mt mom will kill me if i say something outright (it's not "hospitable") i need a way to hint to her that she is taking advantage and that it's not "yeah sure go on a head!" anymore....... what do i do the next time she pics the phone and calls people overseas?

To elaborate more on the first persons comment, think about this. You are in a different country, can't see or talk to your family and friends much, and it's the holidays. Wouldn't you want to pick up that phone too? However, there is a thing as excessive. Maybe she is home sick. If that's the case, maybe it's time for her to go back home. Ask her what's going on. See if she is having problems coping. Also, I would just tell your parents that this girl needs to learn some manners, and let them know exactly what is going on. I wouldn't address it yourself. Your parents should be the one to handle this. This way, you keep the peace between you and her, and your parents and you. Besides, no offense, but if your parents aren't concerned with the cost of the phone calls (and they are the ones paying for it), then why are you? Good Luck!

The other person is right, this cousin is close to you so you feel drawn to him. If you have just moved here from another country, or have been here but not your whole life, you are feeling a bond with them because it is what you know. That is why we connect with people, because they have the same attributes (such as: same heritage, same feelings on stuff, same outlook, same interest, etc..) There is nothing wrong with feeling that bond, but don't pursue dating your cousin. That wouldn't be good. However, yes the friend that is not related, is fair game. Just a thought though, mix and mingle, meet new friends, and develop bonds with other cultures. I promise we don't bite!! ;) Good Luck!!

First, maybe there is something going on in her home life that has her on the defense. She may need someone to talk to but is too embarassed to speak out. What if you took her aside, asked her if everything is okay, tell her you noticed she's not herself lately. Then, if she spills her guts, things could get better. If not, then maybe she just needs time. Let her know that you are there for her if she needs you, but until she either talks to you or loses her attitude, you don't care to hang around her because she is making you uncomfortable. I have worked with this guy for over 9 months and we work in different departments. He comes into my department alot to look up stuff for his job and I catch him looking at me often. But when I smile or look back he quickly looks away. He talks to everyone else in my department but me. I am somewhat shy and do not know what to say to him but I really like him. I know he is single because he came to our Work Christmas Party alone and he kept staring at me there too!! If anyone thinks he like me back then what can I say or do to make him talk to me?

Ok, so for a while my friend has been really weird towards me. She likes a guy that used to like me, and she felt threatened or something. So she's been a bit bitchy towards me. This guy cannot stand me, we always fight.

So he obviously decided to have a bit of fun and screw up the friendship with this girl.

He told her I backstab her and all this crap (Please note, this guy lives on the other side of the country and he's some random on the internet) and she believed him. Heyy what happened to "Friends are forever boys are whatever" hey?

Anyway she decided to instantly believe him and not even ask my side and keeps sending me nasty emails and myspace comments. I'll delete and block her, it's too easy.

However we share mutual friends, so it may get a bit sticky.

But the question isn't how to react to that. The question is:

She obviously wants me out of her life. Yet she keeps bringing all this drama on =\ I just want her the HELL out of my life, how do I get her to just give up and move on, and date some stupid psycho guy that lives on the other side of the country.

The best suggestion I have for you is to ignore her and her antics. Eventually, she will give up and go away. If you act as if it doesn't bother you, she won't get that kick out of it. Good Luck!

My ex boyfriend and my best friend , lets name him Tim so i don't somehow get him in trouble. Tim and I are best friends and he dumped me because there was all this ____ going on with his dad and there still is. His life is so screwed up and i feel like venting about it.

Alright. Tim's mom left when he was four. Timwon't tell me what happened other than "it was complicated" and that she lives in california. He lives in a two family home across town. His (single) dad [his name is Paul ] lives in the bottom appartment and his grandparents and aunt and him live in the top appartment. I've been close with Tim and his family for a year and a half or so, we dated for eight months.
Tim 's dad had been in a coma when i first met Tim in 8th grade in mathclass. Apparently his dad's lungs filled with fluid resulting in almost dying and he was in a coma for two months and i had no idea because Tim and i weren't incredibly close at the time. we just talked online a bit and in mathclass. Anyways, so Tim's dad has been on oxygen due to his lung issues which resulted in a coma for the past... idk i'd say 2 1/2 years and he's doing far better now. and he rarely needs to use oxygen. However, for the past year or so, He's pretty much been hanging out with a rotton croud of druggies and convicts and such. Tim and His father aren't very close anymore due to his dad changing in a bad way. Tim feels as if his dad cares more about being with these druggies and scumbags than being with his son. One time, this druggy lady his dad is friends with, went over his house and Paul promiced Tim that they'd watch a movie together, His dad kicked Tim out because he wanted to get laid by this scumbag lady. Tim cried and his dad called him a pussy. {god im like crying now} and tim also admitted to me that he sometimes crys himself to sleep [and he's a pretty masculine guy]
Paul is always speeding over 120 mph on the highway because it's "FUN" and meracoulously he hasn't been getting any speeding tickets. Why? because Tim's uncle BOB who is a pretty reputable guy in town, found out that his brother Paul (Tim 'sdad) is being watched by the cops. Also apparently the cops have reason to believe that Paul is dealing and they are looking to do a drugbust in the near future at Tim's dad's appartment.

over all, Tim's life is so ____ing screwed up and I love him so much and he knows that I still love him. I wish there was something, ANYTHING i could do to ease all this ____ on him. He's my best friend and he cares about me more than anyone. He's always looking out for me. I feel so Helpless. I mean i'm giving him support telling him that i'm here for him and all, however there's really nothing i can do and its killing me!

Honestly, there isn't much you can do except be there for him. I know it's not much, but at least you are there for him in his time of need and maybe that will be enough for him to have someone reliable in his unstable world. Good Luck!!

Long story short. I've known this guys for awhile a year or so. Never really talked, he dated my friend but they broke up and now my friends with another guy but their friends and everything. Well he was at her party and we talked a little. And then recentlly I've been talking to him on facebok [messages]. And i think i might be getting a little crush on him cause i've always though he was cute. But the problem is i'm 99% sure he smokes pot or something at least. but i've always wanted a guy who doesn't smoke pot, and i'm scared that i'll really being to like him but the whole smokin pot i really dislike. so maybe i'm crazy but any thoughts on the situation. like if i should just see where it goes, talk to him about it or try and get out now so i don't end up hurting myself.

Ok, been there done that. They never give up pot for you. They just hide it. It becomes a problem and then you are stuck trying to deal with a man and a pot issue. Not good. I would suggest that you strongly adhere to your own set of restrictions when dating. If you cross that line once, it may lead to more damage in the end.
Too many things could happen.
#1 You could start smoking too, and lead you down a path of self destruction.
#2 You never feel safe with them. Trust me, it's like omg what if he has some on him and we get caught by the police?
#3 Putting your moral fiber on hold for a crush could lead you to think that it's okay to toss out all the characteristics that you despise from someone out the window.

You have to feel safe and be happy about the relationship. Otherwise, you are just going to be dragging yourself down and not enjoying your life. Good Luck!!

Here's the thing. When you have something on your mind, you tend to find similarites in everything related to that one thing. It seems like it may be a call from God. It's not. It's just that you never really looked before and now that you are, you are noticing it.

For example, when I got pregnant with my first child, I saw pregnant women every where I looked. On the television, at the store, walking down the street, on the internet; they were every where. Well, women tend to be pregnant, it's what we are designed for, but I just never took notice of it before, because at the time, it had nothing to do with me.

LMAO!!!! You sound just like me. I have asked the same exact questions before. The answers I got were, read the bible it tells you in it. Why would I do that? If you just answered, I'd know and we would both be happy. He didn't tell me, so I had to read the bible.

Here is what I read. First Adam and Eve were just two people that was made. There was a hole other town with people in it while Adam and Eve were in their time. So, yes that had Cain and Able, but Cain killed Able, so that would only leave Adam, Eve, and Cain, right? Wrong again. This goes back to the other town. Also, had did we get different races? That applies to this town as well. Also, we got different native tongues because of the tower of babel. These people in a village thought it would be a good idea to build a stairway to heaven so they could meet God. When all the people started working together, God, knowing they couldn't actually reach him, decided to give them different dialects so they couldn't communicate anymore and continue building the bridge.

My next question was this. Ok, so God flooded the
WHOLE world. He told Noah, build an ark, gather your family and two of each kind of animal or living creature you can and get on this boat. Hum, if Noah only took his family, would we all be living in incest to a degree? I mean there is no one else on Earth but them. Did they start reproducing with their cousins and sisters? EEWWW.

It is the foil that is rolled up like a log, that you take one end of it and throw it like you would a yo-yo, in a sense, and it streams out the confetti. I hope this helps.

alright, so my friend told me about this thing where you put salt on your skin, then ice cubes and press down hard and it scars.
i didnt believe her so we tried it and it really works,
but i was wondering if there was a way to get rid of the scar faster, like hot compresses or something.
i searched google and i couldnt really find anything.

If it is actually a scar, nothing will get rid of it. If it is a fairly new scar, you can lessen the marks by using products that will help with the elasiticy of your skin. Mederma is topical gel that may help. However, it is expensive.

I would like to point out one thing though, if you don't want your body scarred up, I would suggest not following the advice of your friends. At least this way, you get to keep your body pretty and scar free. Good Luck!

I would say to do a central theme each time. For example if it is monthly, do a theme for each holiday in that month. You could put a small fact piece in the section, also do crossword searches, find a word, mazes, find the differences, comics, and anything else you may come across. You could even do a competition where they do a certain task, hand in the task to the secretary, you collect the info at the end of each day, pick the winner, and for the next time you do your section announce the winner. The winnings could be small, something they can do without paying money, for instance, they get to go to lunch early and bring 3 friends with them *stand in line first at lunch*. There are a lot of things you can do. You could also have a craft section where they can get the instructions from you and then do it at home, or even as a class activity. The sky is the limit. As for places to find information and idea helpers, I found these that might help. Also, I would suggest using fonts that complement the theme you are looking to do. The problem with the world now adays is they only think about themselves. We have gotten to the point of what can you do for me? I don't care what I can do for you. By all means, I am not saying you are this way, but Britney seems to be.

Talk to her, see what she wants in a friendship from you, see if she can fit you into her "very social life" and ask what is her deal. Be honest, straight forward, and get it all out in the open. This way, you can either get on with your life, or be better friends after. Good Luck.
