My ex boyfriend and my best friend , lets name him Tim so i don't somehow get him in trouble. Tim and I are best friends and he dumped me because there was all this ____ going on with his dad and there still is. His life is so screwed up and i feel like venting about it.
Alright. Tim's mom left when he was four. Timwon't tell me what happened other than "it was complicated" and that she lives in california. He lives in a two family home across town. His (single) dad [his name is Paul ] lives in the bottom appartment and his grandparents and aunt and him live in the top appartment. I've been close with Tim and his family for a year and a half or so, we dated for eight months.
Tim 's dad had been in a coma when i first met Tim in 8th grade in mathclass. Apparently his dad's lungs filled with fluid resulting in almost dying and he was in a coma for two months and i had no idea because Tim and i weren't incredibly close at the time. we just talked online a bit and in mathclass. Anyways, so Tim's dad has been on oxygen due to his lung issues which resulted in a coma for the past... idk i'd say 2 1/2 years and he's doing far better now. and he rarely needs to use oxygen. However, for the past year or so, He's pretty much been hanging out with a rotton croud of druggies and convicts and such. Tim and His father aren't very close anymore due to his dad changing in a bad way. Tim feels as if his dad cares more about being with these druggies and scumbags than being with his son. One time, this druggy lady his dad is friends with, went over his house and Paul promiced Tim that they'd watch a movie together, His dad kicked Tim out because he wanted to get laid by this scumbag lady. Tim cried and his dad called him a pussy. {god im like crying now} and tim also admitted to me that he sometimes crys himself to sleep [and he's a pretty masculine guy]
Paul is always speeding over 120 mph on the highway because it's "FUN" and meracoulously he hasn't been getting any speeding tickets. Why? because Tim's uncle BOB who is a pretty reputable guy in town, found out that his brother Paul (Tim 'sdad) is being watched by the cops. Also apparently the cops have reason to believe that Paul is dealing and they are looking to do a drugbust in the near future at Tim's dad's appartment.
over all, Tim's life is so ____ing screwed up and I love him so much and he knows that I still love him. I wish there was something, ANYTHING i could do to ease all this ____ on him. He's my best friend and he cares about me more than anyone. He's always looking out for me. I feel so Helpless. I mean i'm giving him support telling him that i'm here for him and all, however there's really nothing i can do and its killing me!

Honestly, there isn't much you can do except be there for him. I know it's not much, but at least you are there for him in his time of need and maybe that will be enough for him to have someone reliable in his unstable world. Good Luck!!
