I finally updated my picture, I thought it was time for an update on it so I picked my favorite picture. After all, my previous picture was almost 2 and a half years old!
My name is Ryan. And I will answer most everything you want to ask to the best of my God given ability.But I will not sugar coat any answer and I will give MY advice. I don't care about my ratings, so don't think giving me a 1 for an answer you don't want to hear will scare me. And if you already know what you should do about a sitaution, don't come to us here at advicenators asking for a second opinion. And here below is a list of questions you should NOT ask on advicenators. Granted some of them may vary and be acceptable, but overall don't ask the below questions on Advicenators.
**Don't ask questions like "OMG i heard this song on the radio with "insert pointless pop lyrics here" and i wanna know what it is so what is it! Thanks!! I rate 5sssss! hearts". This question can be simply googled with the lyrics, or you need only ask a friend
**Don't ask "ok so there is the hott guy/gal in my class and he/she like got me a *insert gift or simple trinket here* do you think he/she likes me?" This is the most common question here on this website sadly. Unless it is vitally important and actually pertains to a feeling of true feelings, don't ask it. This is most asked by teens. And what teens need to learn is "love" is not thinking a guy/girl is sweet and hott and nice. I know love, and it is so far from all those things. Remember Cicero when he said "Out of all the emotions, love is the most violent. Love is madness."
**"Ok so me and my boyfriend had sex last night and we like used no protection omg he came in me do you think i am pregnant?" Ugh. Stupid teens and their hormones. IF YOU HAVE SEX YOU ALWAYS RUN THE RISK OF PREGNANCY, UNLESS YOUR STERILE. And if you don't know anything about sex, you shouldn't be doing it. Even if you "love" your partner, half the time this is a disallusion and you will end up hurt. Sex is for marriage.
**Or asking what's "in" for fashion, or what they should wear out tonight. Or what is "cute" and what looks good. Pick and choose for yourself what you like, think for yourself instead of trying to let other people do it for you. Stand up and be yourself.
These are the most common questions I have seen on Advicenators. Now there are a few questions that are very good questions and deserve the 3 rating and the best answer possible. But they are usually blocked out with the kinds of questions listed above. If you want to ask something, check the following off that I am listing.
1.Does the question pertain to anything important or trivial?
2.Is proper grammar used?
3.Is the question long and in one paragraph?
4.Is it a question that you yourself can answer?
5.Is there enough detail?
Following those 5 guidelines, you can write a good 3 point answer. That about wraps it up.
I spend alot of time online and here on advicenators, so if you ever need anything then just send something in my inbox or IM me. I'm not opposed to helping people at all, in fact I love doing it. I just want some people to wake up from asking a stupid question.

I need help about religion. I currently attend a unitarion Universalist church and I am taking the class and all that. Oh yeah and im 13/f. I really do not know what I beleive in. I guess you could call me agnostic, but I do believe that there is a higher power out there. I just dont know what. The thing is, no offense to anybody, I just dont believe that God sends people to hl for sinning and stuff. I really dont know about christianiy all that much, but Im from the south where alot of people are really mean but they think they are such good chrisians because they read the bible. My question is is this normal? I just dont know what to believe and its anoying becuase some people are like "Why dont you believe in god?!" and its really embarrising. (link)

I am really impressed with your question. I just thought you should know.
Alot of teenagers will go through a "trial" of sorts when it comes to their faith during their teen years. It can make or break a faith and can completely solidify or dispel your faith all together.
I am not fully in tune of all the doctrine of the unitarion Universalist church, so I cannot compare it to anything else. But reading the bible does not make you "good". Reading the bible is meant to strengthen faith and to be used to spread God's word and find comfort in it. I am a Lutheran and no matter how much I read the bible, not one second of it will make me better in the sight of God. It my faith that gets God's attention. Not my works or how much I read the bible, but my faith personally.
I'm not trying to preach to you or convert you or anything, but that is just how I was taught and what I believe. It is normal for many people to think they are good Christians just because they read the bible and do good works. That won't get you to heaven, and that is the exact point Martin Luther tried to make back in the 1500's. Faith by faith, not by works.
If someone asks you, you tell them you don't know because you don't know what you believe. In time you will find your beliefs, just not now.

If your uncomfortable, then why stay.
He sounds like a dirtbag to me. If he wants that and is making you uncomfortable with alot of nasty questions about sex and whatnot, then why stay with him?
I bet you could find a better guy. But if you must insist with staying with this...guy...Then make it perfectly clear you are uncomfortable with him asking you those kinds of questions and don't want to do anything beyond making out.
And if he insists on his way, then drop him like a bad habit. Because if he is gonna keep going at you with that kinda stuff, then he doesn't deserve your time and has made it obvious what the priority is in your relationship.

Did God only create Adam and Eve or did he make other humans too?
I ask, because if it was only up to them to populate the earth hen surely incest must have taken place :-s
Adam and eve could have lots of children but then when they died there would have just been brothers and sisters left so that means that they wuld have had to make babies with eachother to make more people.
Is that what happend? i know it wasnt illegal back then but it's just so icky.

The issue is in genetics.
Say Adam and Eve have the perfect genes. They reproduce and their children have the perfect genes as well. but when the children reproduce with each other, the genes start to become corrupted.
And so with time, the perfect genes were lost and forgotten. You can see now how imperfect the human genome is now with all the disorders and diseases about that are effected solely by genetics and hereditary. Over time the genes would have changed into completely new strains thanks to crossing over and alleles switching over.
It's complicated, and you asked a good and valid question. Incestial breeding corrupts the human genome faster than normal, so saying that Adam and Eve's children had this relationship, would explain for the more rapid detereoation of human genes. Also this kind of breeding brings on my diseases and disorders.
This was a good question. So I hope I helped you and atleast gave you a clearer idea on how things "might" have happened. Adam and Eve were diffenantly the first people.

That is partly why I answer some questions that just don't need answering, people need to hear and read whats going on, even if they don't like it.
I have a habit of telling the truth the way it is, I don't suger coat it, you get it raw, and that is the way it should be. If someone rates me low and gives me a snobby rating comment, I will simply go back and edit my answer to further explain my point.
I don't care about my rating, I just care about giving the best answer I can. And sometimes...helping people to realize they need to hear the truth, even if it is bad. And even if I get a 1

It depends on your faith, or lack thereof.
Me personally, I believe evertyhing it is telling me in the bible. And I am no blind believer. I do believe in evolution to an extent. Things change, and to me, I believe it was God's plan to have everything in constant change, this includes species changing and even us as humans, changing. It is easy to see the species Homo Sapien is changing, and for the worse. The genetics are being shot down and burning. We have evidence of a time hundreds of years ago where the genetics of humans were alot better than they are today. Why do you think there are so many heriditery and genetic disorders? To this extent I believe in evolution.
However, the main problem I have with the whole concept is, you don't just "get" the cells needed for life, even in the course of thousands, millions, or billions of years. The argument for evolution is that billions upon billions of years ago, some cells got together and basically made a new cell, which aparently made another cell, which ultimately spawned every living thing.
Right....sure......
I'm sure there is some is a scientist out there with an I.Q. of 200+ that will tell me I am dead wrong, but I will brush him off.
To me, Adam and Eve were the first people on the earth. Short story. From God creating everything, we can have evolution from that point on, but to say it comes beforehand..is just stupid.

Homosexuality is almost as old as recorded human history
The men of Sodom, as read in the book of Genesis in the bible, are practitioners of most likely open homosexuality and bisexuality. As seen when they try and force the 2 men (Angels in disguise) into sex. And it said ALL the men of the city were there, save Lot.
Of course, according to the Bible, they were killed with sulfur and fire.
If your looking into an essay into Homosexuality, try looking past the known facts. Yeah alot of Romans were in ways practicing homosexuality, but in fact they were alot more family orientated.
You should be looking at the Greeks. Greek soldiers were extremely open with each other and the only reason was to form bonds of brotherhood and friendship. In fact in Sparta, if a boy or man was seen to have to much affection for their lover, they would be put to death. Nothing more.
Also if your serious about this, you may consider reading up on the person of Sappho of Lesbos. She had alot of insights into it all.
I am only telling you this because you asked for advice and your needed to be slightly corrected on it, I will leave my own objection to homosexuality out of it. So I hope I atleast gave you some insights into your essay.

It depends of course, on your religion and philosophy.
For me, being a Christian, evil is born with us from the moment of conception and birth. And it will always be with you until you die.
It varies depending on your faith or philosophy, but many religions will agree that you are born with the evil inside of you. But after that and how to become "good", well..the line thins and blurs. Some people will argue that you can attain goodness on your own, and yet others will argue that you cannot come to be good at all, because your own human nature will always betray you to fail.
It is a very complicated issue and I believe it has been debated probably since the question of good and evil was asked. If depends on what you believe, and what you feel is right.

It really isn't that big of a deal. If you need to have physical contact with your boyfriend to satisfy you, then I suggest you slow down, drastically.
If he wants to do something like that with you, he will. But you shouldn't be the one to force him to do something even that small. But until then, all you can do is wait.

Ok, So I am 13 years old and since May 2005, I have found myself madly in love with no other than a 20 year old McDonalds worker. He has started to open up a little more in the past couple of months, and he gives me lots of hugs, flirts, and shows all the "signs" of love back. Yet he has never told me. You do know it is considered illegal right? I think you need to rethink your "feelings" for him. I doubt they are truly "love" because of age. Now don't get me wrong, some people can actually have love then and have it be true love, but it takes alot of maturity for that. The rest of teenagers "love" is really just puppy love or lust, not true love.
I would still advice you to rethink your feelings for him and really think about it. Because you really need to.

I realy realy need some help. My friend has been cutting herself, and i don't know what to do to help stop her. She did stop, when she was dating this guy, she said "he made me feel beautful". I realy realy want to help her, but i don't kno how. I tried to get stop, but she won't listen to me. Also she's not afriad of cutting herself, because one of her friends, friend died from cutting herself, and my friend kno's this. I realy realy want to help her stop. But i don't kno how. You need to tell someone else.
Do you have someone in your school you can go to? Like a counsiler, teacher, or principle? That or another trusted adult who you know will help. You need to let someone know right away and get something done about it. And don't worry about what your friend will think about you. 10 to 1 she isn't exactly in the right mindset anyway when she is cutting, so to get angry at you for telling, won't last.
Tell someone, and tell them quick and get help. I hope I helped, and I hope you get some help for your friend and she stops.

I want to be a theatre major in college & I have known that this is what I want to do for a very long time. However, my parents do not seem to escept the fact that I can get a job at all with a BA or BFA in acting or theatre. I really want to be a theatre teacher, even if I can't be an actress, which is what I dream about doing. However, my mom started screaming at me that for me acting is not a career & just a hobby & she will not pay for a private school education for me to major in theatre. I told her I would go to a public school & at first she said "fine, if that's what you want to do" & then she changed it & told me that it would be a retarted thing to major in. It seems like she has absolutely no support for my DREAM and GOAL in life. It's not even like I am beng unrealistic & saying "I want to be a famous actress"... I just want to be a drama teacher! She has no idea that she really hurt me in saying that I could never make a career out of this. It's not even like we can't afford it either...we are a pretty well to do family, but even if I say I will go to a public school, she tells me this goal is absurd. I don't knwo how to convince her that I can make money with a degree in theatre & that it is okay to major in it. Any ideas? also, it really hurts me that I have seen a few other kids whose parets support their talents (i have won many awards for acting & been in many productions & go to acting training in & out of school) while my mom just sees it as nothing more then a "hobby". How can I convince her that a theatre major is good for me & that it is more then "just a hobby"? (link)

You shouldn't have to convince her of anything.
This is YOUR DREAM, and not hers. So there is her first fault for putting your dream down. Why should her thoughts about it influence you? Why should any person try and take your dream.
Your goal is actually realistic as well. You have that goal and you have made it a realistic one. If you really want to show her you are dead serious, then don't budge an inch on what you want to do. Let her know this is what you want and you will be willing to do whatever it takes to get there. If she truly loves you, she is going to atleast be supportive of you in someway, even if she doesn't approve of it.
Don't budge and inch and let your parents know this is what you want. Send them a very clear message about this by not moving at all from it.
They just need to realize it is about what you want with the rest of your life, and not what they want.

Nympomania is the over obsession with sex.
So why, if you a nympho, are you coming to ask us about how you can obtain birth control?
While I do commend you for atleast thinking ahead on this, I do not believe you can just "buy" birth control pills on a shelf at your local CVS.
Usually those things must be doctor consulted first before you can get them over the counter.
Perhaps you should talk to that person? If not, then I don't think you will be getting your birth control pills.

I know this ex-colleague of mine but not really that close to him. I think i have a crush on him but i dont really know if he likes me at all.
He's confident, witty and a workaholic.
However, he gets shy/uncomfortable, when i ask him simple personal questions for eg: Do you go for swimming. I think he has a problem of talking about himself to new people or just not that friendly.
So one day, i gave him some sweets via his secretary (i didnt really know him that well at that time in office) and he was quite startled and stared at me and waited for me to say something when i bumped at him at the doorway.
He had those puppy eyes..but didnt know what to say!.
I pretended not to appear interested in him becos i was too shy.!
Later, i sent him email and was able to chat with him about work..and he responded quite well except that when i asked him for lunch, he just disappeared and dint reply yes/no.,,which was kind of weird.He could have just said no..but he dint.
I managed to obtain his cellphone and he replies all my sms except the ones on personal questions.
So how do i even talk to him tru the phone as a friend, if he's that shy?
How do i get him to even talk to me like a normal friend?

It seems to me like he is afraid of close connections with other people.
You mentioned before he was a workaholic, do you think this could be a possible reason? People who work alot tend to prefer their work lives over their actual lives, and so to do this they shut out their normal lives and keep it to a minimal.
Or, he just could be one of those overly shy types. The type that literally can't speak when talking to the opposite sex on anything personal. Casual talk or talk about work or school would be something they could talk about, but anything beyond personal may make them feel uncomfortable.
Those two are the only real two reasons I can think of to explain his lack of interest at the moment. My advice to you is to ease into a conversation and bring up small personal questions, perhaps those which pertain to his work or whatnot. You can see how it goes from there and work on it after you see how far you are going with small talk. I know you've tried, but perhaps a bit of persistance would be good. Not too much, but just a bit would work.
Though, you probably should give the indication you want to be his friend (like say, he seems to be having a bad day and you see that and ask whats up? Because he looks down and your just checking up to see if he's alright). You might already be doing that, but I would keep at it. Some persistance never hurts.
I hope I helped you in atleast some way and I hope that for whatever reason he is holding out on you with your questions, that he opens up and will atleast talk to you on a more personal level.

ITS LONG BUT PLEASE READ!
i'm a 15 yr old girl
this JUST happen.. i came home and EVERYTHING.. and i mean EVERYTHING in my room was completely rearranged, reorganized, stuffed in random places, moved across the room, just everything was completely wrong in my room. We just had new housekeepers come for their first day and all i could do was cry at the sight of my room. I really did.. i just cried, it's already late enough and it was going to take me so long to fix my room and put it back to normal. My mom apparently LOVES the new maids ??? i told her to come upstairs and i showed her how everything was wrong. all she said was "they just wanted to make it look clean" LAKDJFKSJ... there are no words for me to describe how upset i am.. am i over reacting??
the only reason i feel so upset is because my room is MY place.. it's the only place i EVER feel comfortable, i don't even like when my family walks in my room, it's just MINE and it wasn't even messy in the first place its just like the housekeepers had the sudden urge to throw random stuff into empty shoe boxes and put them under my bed ...??? so i've spent the past HOUR re-doing my room... i'm not even kidding, i told my mom that i don't want them to clean my room and that i will do it from now on and apparently she won't let me do that because she doesn't think i'll actually clean up...how do i show her that i don't need a maid? and am i over reacting?? I can understand your frustration, but you are overreacting just a little bit.
It was their first day and they made a mistake, that is perfectly understandable. Just let them know not to move things around in your room. They can clean in your room, just tell them not to move things around because that is the way you like it and don't want it changed. Simple as that.
It is your room, and how it is organized should be left to you. Their job is to clean, not redecorate.

Some people are so ignorant to the truth they will not wake up until they have their own revelation.
She will find hers eventually but until then she will be in ignorance to her boyfriends behavior. Let her be for now and be here friend. So when she finally does realize her boyfriends behavior is wrong, she will have you to come back to, her friend.
But also, keep pressuring her and showing her that what he is doing is wrong. Guys don't need to do that to girls, and vice versa, and she seriously need to realize it's wrong.
