Were Adam and Eve the first people on Earth? If so what about the cavemen? I thought they appeared first? I am confused. I mean, are the cavemen really the "people" in Darwin's theory of evolution? And so not supported by the bible...umm..
Jess5764 answered Wednesday April 26 2006, 5:35 pm: cavemen and such were the first "people" on earth. how can all these people deny SCIENTIFIC PROOF that they existed much longer ago than the bible credits? the truth is its not really in their place as 14 year old girls to be denying the scientific evidence and research conducted by the greatest minds in the world...its plain arrogant. the process of evolution is a THEORY, not a hypothesis, meaning it is very well researched and tested. people act like theories are things scientists pull out of the air, which is not the case. if these people were consistant they wouldn't believe in anything because hardly anything in the scientific world is a fact or law. so yeah the bible is a load of BS [ Jess5764's advice column | Ask Jess5764 A Question ]
MelpomeneMuse answered Saturday April 22 2006, 6:24 pm: Creation and evolution are two very different theories, and it is hard to believe in both at once.
Here are two extremely brief summaries
According to creation, God created humans as they are.
According to evolution, humans evolved slowly over millions of years from apes, who were before that possibly water-residing creatures, backward until we are descended from the first single-celled bacterium.
aeromonkey answered Saturday April 22 2006, 9:38 am: First of all.. evolution is not true.. we didn't come from monkeys there was a master Creator (God) so we didn't come from a big bang. Cavemen like neanderthal never existed. There were people who lived in caves but they were like you and me not monkeys. Evolution was developed to deny there was/is a God. Vikki27 answered Monday April 17 2006, 5:53 pm: I personally am an atheist and am not particularly open minded about the Bible and so on because too much of it has been proven impossible through Science.
For example, hundreds of thousands of people have searched a particular mountain range, because they are certain the remains of Noahs Ark are preserved there but scientists have proven there's nothing but mountain there.
Like you say, the existence of cavemen (or homosapiens) has been scientifically proven. It's fact. The Bible tells us God put man here but if that is the case, how come that cannot be proven but we can prove man evolved from apes?
I can't understand really why so many people have faith in the Bible. It might have been the first book ever published but in my opinion, that is all it is. A book. A book written possibly by many people over a great length of time but it is either fiction or exaggerated stories. [ Vikki27's advice column | Ask Vikki27 A Question ]
modelkate11 answered Monday April 17 2006, 2:35 pm: well there was a frozen caveman found so we know they existed. and how the hell could we have come from dust. im really not tryin to be rude but come on. there might have been two of the modern human like species that could i guess be considered Adam and Eve. but see i had a problem sorta like this but it was with Dinosaures! i know that sound weird but yeah because there is proove of dinosaures but in the bible it doesnt mentchen it!!
well im good friend with my preachers daughter and i asked her about it! welll in the bible ONE day could mean like 1000 years are time! it never does say how long the days where!
i dont no if i believe in cave man or whatever!

Alpha345 answered Sunday April 16 2006, 1:23 am: It depends on your faith, or lack thereof.
Me personally, I believe evertyhing it is telling me in the bible. And I am no blind believer. I do believe in evolution to an extent. Things change, and to me, I believe it was God's plan to have everything in constant change, this includes species changing and even us as humans, changing. It is easy to see the species Homo Sapien is changing, and for the worse. The genetics are being shot down and burning. We have evidence of a time hundreds of years ago where the genetics of humans were alot better than they are today. Why do you think there are so many heriditery and genetic disorders? To this extent I believe in evolution.
However, the main problem I have with the whole concept is, you don't just "get" the cells needed for life, even in the course of thousands, millions, or billions of years. The argument for evolution is that billions upon billions of years ago, some cells got together and basically made a new cell, which aparently made another cell, which ultimately spawned every living thing.
Right....sure......
I'm sure there is some is a scientist out there with an I.Q. of 200+ that will tell me I am dead wrong, but I will brush him off.
To me, Adam and Eve were the first people on the earth. Short story. From God creating everything, we can have evolution from that point on, but to say it comes beforehand..is just stupid.
You be your judge. I know alot about this stuff so if you got anymore questions, IM me or leave me a message in my inbox, I would be happy to answer anymore questions.
I hope I helped. Make the decision for yourself, because it ultimately comes down to you and your faith to decide.
redninja answered Saturday April 15 2006, 11:58 pm: ok there is scientfic proof to show the evolution of the creatures on earth. I dont know what dancergirl678 was sayin about there being no explination for monkeys or apes. over billions of years cell life forms evloved and adapted to their differnt enviroments to become what they currently are. It wasnt so much that we came from cavemen, we evolved from ancient apes. Through DNA and genetics we can see how closley each differnt speicies is to each other in relation. Humans and life in general is incedibly complex, the very idea of all of human life 1.l coming from 2 individuals and 2. Being created in a mere 6 days is aubsurd. The complex structures of life cant be made from dust and magic. [ redninja's advice column | Ask redninja A Question ]
dancergirl678 answered Saturday April 15 2006, 9:36 pm: for lack of a better way of saying it, the whole "caveman" concept is a load of crap. Adam and Eve were in fact the first people on earth. we didn't evolve from anything because it doesn't explain how monkey's came into existence or anything like that. It must have had a higher power behind it. God created everything in just 6 days, including man from the dust of the ground. the whole caveman concept is like believe dinosaurs are extinct because of a meteor...it's not true [ dancergirl678's advice column | Ask dancergirl678 A Question ]
NinjaNeer answered Saturday April 15 2006, 9:11 pm: In my personal opinion, as an evolutionist, I would say that the Bible holds some truth, but maybe oversimplifies. You can believe both!
The way I see it, the creation story is highly unlikely. BUT if you look at Darwin's theory, to obtain the modern human, you would need two individuals exhibiting human characteristics. So, those individuals could be considered "Adam and Eve". That's just my theory, you can agree or disagree if you'd like :)
The 'cavemen' or neanderthals that have been discovered are not the 'people' of Darwin's theory. His 'people' are homo sapiens in their modern form.
Hope I helped!
*Note* I would also like to add that neanderthals and other primitive forms of human are NOT just a theory! Fossil evidence of them has been unearthed, along with evidence of their advancement in toolmaking and other important survival skills! [ NinjaNeer's advice column | Ask NinjaNeer A Question ]
meaghanek answered Saturday April 15 2006, 9:11 pm: It depends on what kind of view you take on creation. If you believe that Adam and Eve were the first people, then there were technically no cavemen, man just descended from them. However, if you believe in evolution, then that means that animals lived by the rule of survival of the fittest. That means that if an animal had a trait that made it live longer, and thereby mate more, then that trait was passed on and traits that didn't help faded away. Throug this process, humans evolved. So, if we are descended from apes, then at one point, ceratin apes developed certain traits that helped them hunt better and live longer and mate more so these animals survived and eventually because a species of their own.
Darwinism is not supprted by the bible. [ meaghanek's advice column | Ask meaghanek A Question ]
