ok well my friend max is an athiest. he doesnt belive in any kind of god. hes like a science nerd so that probably has something to do with it. well i really want him to belive in God but i dont know how i can talk to him about it. we arent close enough to talk about that stuff. what should i do?
ok teh best advice i can give you is get over it. not everyone is a christan and thats what makes the world diffrent and gooood. I would not consider talkin to him about god or tryin to convert him. honestly he willprobpaly get pissed off, most people dont enjoy havin other beliefs pushed on them. Your beliefs are yours, and his are his. They dont need to be the same, you can still be friends, just because he is an atheist doesnt mean that hes a bad person or anything.
My best guy friend likes me (he told me) and I like him too. The problem is he is afraid of committment. I've been waiting about 3 months for him to ask me out, and I don't think I can take it any more. Any suggestions on what to do? Should I just give up on him, and find someone else?

well personally i think it varies.. Ive talked to some girls where 15-20 mins was awesome... but for some its more like 1....or 1 1/2 thats normal. SO really it more or less depends on the people. I cantimagine anything less than half an hour but thats jsut me.
Why do many non-Christians celebrate Christmas? Christmas is a celebration of the birth of Jesus, so I just don't understand how anyone who doesn't believe in Jesus could celebrate his birth just for presents. And why do nonreligious people have to celebrate Christmas? Why not Hannukah or Kwanza?
Also, why do people who only celebrate Christmas and Easter consider themselves Christian? (people who don't pray or go to church, but still celebrate Christian holidays)
many no christians celebrate xmas not as a celebration of the birth of christ, but a celebration of family and happiness. I know in my family, christ or religion has nothing to do with anything, its irrelevant. For us christmas is about the family coming together for one night and everyone has fun and gets along and there are good memories that come from that. We most definetly dont celebrate for presents, although there are some peopel im sure that do.
And as for the people that only go to church on easter and christmas. yes they can consider themselves christians, why not. why should it eb nessisary to go to church everyday to prove that you follow this god? just because they dont worhsip every sunday doesnt mean taht they dont believe, i have a few friends that are unquestionably christan and they dont not attend church but o those days. And there should be nothing wrong with that. And as for not celebrating other holidays such as hannukah or kwanza.. well simply those havent been shoved down our throats since pre school. Most people are brought up with christmas, unless their family or themselves believe otherwise. Its a hallmaerk holdiay in a way. It has beent eh msot commercialized. hope i helped.

My bf has a real mean streak in him when it comes to gay people. Well he told me one day that every time Queer Eye For The Straight Guy came on tv he felt like throwing his boot threw the screen. He also said he wanted to hurt Boy George every time one of his songs came on the radio; and when I told him I liked Will and Grace he gave me the dirtiest look. He doesnt just put down gays either he also makes derogatory remarks about women; that we are inferior to men and that they are smarter. It's also the WAY he says these things too; with so much hate in his voice. This one time I jokingly said women were smarter then men and he yelled "prove it"! And then he pulled out a chain linked puzzle. He said if I was so smart I could figure it out under a minute. I couldnt and he yelled "SEE"! Should I break up with him?
just from what youve said, yes you need to leave him now. you shouldnt be with some one who says those types of things about your gender or about other people. thats jsut hatefull and it shouldnt be tolerated.

thats not love, thats just infatuation. If it were love 1. you wouldnt be questioning it, and 2. you wouldnt stop liking him when another guy comes into the picture.
so if people agree and think that smoking is bad and alcoholism is bad why do people think that suicidal-minded rock bands and stuff like that push the limiting line of "individualism" is not bad and is just being individually unique? surely you cant say that child pornography is just uniqueness that someone has that you shouldn't try to take away someone from doing because you dont wanna interfere with their individualism? or alcohol addictions or smoking? so what makes the difference?
i just dont understand beccause ive had a number of friends whos fallen into the wrong paths (serious depression cutting themselves and suicidal attempts and one actually killed herself :() after being "emo" and the "misunderstood kid" who's always considered herself depressed. i dont mean to label but a general trend was they listened to songs about deaths 24/7 and stuff. theres no hard proof that emo bands and their intense promoting of "individualism" and "being yourself" beyond the line cause these things but then again, there's no scientific proof that child porn is bad, it just is... so why wouldnt anyone agree with me?
ok i get what you are tryin to say, but you have to realize what you are comparing. You are tryin to compare "emo" and rock music to child porn and alchoholism and smoking. those are very diffrent things. first off drinking nad smoking arent really ways to make some one an idividual. ACtually alot of the time people start trying those thingd to be like everyone else, they are peer pressured into having their first smoke or first shot so that they are accepted and feel like they belong, child porn is a bit more unique but is wrong, its wrong just because its wrong because those children are innnocent and things like that are taking inncoence away from those children and the people that put kids into that are disgusting. The kids dont know whats going on, they dont fully understand what is happening. And for the music, music is an art form, its a way of exspression, just like painting or poetry or acting. Its a way for the person writing/singing the song to vent out their emotions and give out a message and idea to who ever will listen. Sure some times the music is questionable but thats just from diffrent points of veiws. Just because a song has soem depressing points doesnt mean that its goin to make people go out and kill them selves especially rock/metal/"emo" music. Music is some thing people can relate to, and it isnt something anyone should try to censor or change, because self exspression shouldnt be limited.

well good for you for not wanting to loose your birginity at such a young age, its always best to wait untill your ready. I waited and am very glad. The first time does hurt alot and the next few times after are a lil painfull, but it gets ALOT better, so dont worry adn dont stress out about it. Its best to wait because when your relaxed and comfortable it does hurt less and everything is better. The best advice is to just wait untill you are ready and dont let any one make you do anything that your not comfortable with

Wait untill you know your ready, its not something that you just do you hvae to be very comfortable with the person adn you should be close. 14/f. My boyfriend of about two weeks is named Dylan. I really like him and I love being with him but the problem is my friends (both girls and boys). They ALL don't like him because of mainly two reasons. One is that he is sort of mean to them (jokingly though). And two, they say I ditch them for Dylan. I actually only ditched them once for him but still. It was so much easier when I was single to hang out with my friends and have a good time and remain part of the group. All of my friends REALLY make it seem like I have to choose between Dylan and them. And when I asked them about it, they said they didn't know what I was talking about. But their actions speak louder than their words. I know if I break up with him things will be a lot easier for me but I would still like him. ok i know this situation, and no you shouldnt leave your bf, but you shouldnt neglect your friends, if they fel that way then try to do things with your bf and your riends together then they can maybe start to like him. do what you can to make both ahppy and let your friends know that you hvae a bf now and that you might not be there as much as they woudl like but that doesnt change anything about your friend ship, ture friends will stick by. but remember chicks before dicks. ! lol good luck
