Judas
How did Judas betray Jesus? There is a band called Judas Priest. Does that pertain to the story and so they are satanic-ish because Judas was a traitor? Or was he? I don't know.

Yes, Judas was the disciple who betrayed Jesus with a kiss.
Matthew's gospel says:
"Then one of the Twelve, the one called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests and asked, "What are you willing to give me if I hand him over to you?" So they counted out for him thirty silver coins. From then on Judas watched for an opportunity to hand him over." {Matt. 26: 14-16}
"While he was still speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, arrived. With him was a large crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests and the elders of the people. Now the betrayer had arranged a signal with them: "The one I kiss is the man; arrest him." Going at once to Jesus, Judas said, "Greetings, Rabbi!" and kissed him.
Jesus replied, "Friend, do what you came for."Then the men stepped forward, seized Jesus and arrested him." {Matt. 26:47-50}
The other gospels say pretty much the same. As for the gospel of Judas, which is not in the bible, along with other books such as the gospel of Thomas, do not appear in the Bible because when compared to all othe histrical evidence, they do not give accurate accounts and therefore cannot be taken as truth.

Judas Priest takes their name from the Bob Dylan song "The Ballad of Frankie Lee and Judas Priest".

Just because Judas Priest is a metal band, does not mean they are Satanistic. I hate that generalization. If the name has anything to do with Satan, blame Bob Dylan. He came up with it.

Yeah Dancergirl pretty much summed it up. He was a traitor. Jesus actually said earlier that one of his disciples was to betray him, if my memory serves.
Just wanted to add that Judas Priest is hardly satanic (ish or otherwise). One thing about heavy metal bands is they have a tendancy to want to provoke. You have tons of examples of such things in metal. Most of it is not to be taken too seriously really.

what judas did was he went and was paid to try and capture Jesus. He was given a lot of money and he had guards follow him to the garden of gethsemene (sp) and he told them *the one that i kiss is Him* and when he saw Jesus, he went up and kissed Him on the cheek and the guards knew that that was the One. So they took Jesus and ultimately He was cruicified. And then judas, out of his guilt that his money was blood money, took it back and threw it on the ground, and hung himself.
Read John 18:1-13 and it should help a little *it's not the whole thing that i explained though, the other parts are in different books of the Bible*
