religion

Question Posted Monday April 17 2006, 5:58 pm

I need help about religion. I currently attend a unitarion Universalist church and I am taking the class and all that. Oh yeah and im 13/f. I really do not know what I beleive in. I guess you could call me agnostic, but I do believe that there is a higher power out there. I just dont know what. The thing is, no offense to anybody, I just dont believe that God sends people to hl for sinning and stuff. I really dont know about christianiy all that much, but Im from the south where alot of people are really mean but they think they are such good chrisians because they read the bible. My question is is this normal? I just dont know what to believe and its anoying becuase some people are like "Why dont you believe in god?!" and its really embarrising.

well i am 15f muslim and im very happyw ith my religion and will share my knowledge with you...who knows mabey its what you are looking for !!!like i said to other converts and ppl
Islam(muslims) is a religion that says that there is only one god and he is the creator of heavens and earth and that noone helped him creat this and that he has no sons no wife or anything like that and prophet mohamed(ppbuh) is his messenger, islma has five pillars, which are things you have to do to become a muslim...1) is bearing witness that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah(god)and that mohamed is the messenger of Allah.2)prayer....this is a very important one if you want to be muslim, muslims pray 5 times a day thanking God for all of the things he has bestowed upon them.3) is giving money to the poor in the month of ramadan.4) is fasting in the holy month of ramadan....ramadan is a month that comes each year and muslims dont eat from like 4 am till 5 pm and god made them do this so they can thank him and be happy that they have food and to feel the hunger of most ppl that dont have any food.5) last thing(this isnt a must if you dont have money) is going to hajj(pilgrimage) its a place you go to to pray and go walk around the ka'bah to ask god for anything you want and to be forgiven....thoes who go there are forgiven from all their sins. and NO islam is not a terrorist religion....osama bin laden can be a terrorrist but muslims arent...they dont even agree to whats been hapening in iraq and all)muslims also believe in the day of judgment which is a day where everyone will come alive from the dead to be judged about their doings and only Allah creator of this world will judge them.from that day there will be either going to heaven or hell depending on your doings.Allah is very merciful and forgiving like for example if you done something like REALLY bad and you regret it and ask Allah for forgivness he will forgive you, muslims also have signs that prove that the day of judgment is coming closer and that they should start becoming better muslims and scary thing is that most of them have already happened...all i want you to do is visit this website about the miracles of islam the word allah is written in arabic in most places ....[Link](Mouse over link to see full location) and another thing is that muslims are NOT allowed to make fun of christianity or jewish religion its totally sinfull because God said in the holy quran that muslims should have respect for others....even muslim girls....if you have seen that most of them cover their hair it is because Allah wants the muslim woman to be protected by not exposing her body to other men and being a prey of sexuall stuff.well please visit the website i told you about by just cliking on it and on that website you might not get the miracle of the mosque....a mosque is a place where muslims pray....please visit it and if you have any other questions about islam ask me

Definitly normal. I don't believe in god, or anything that has to do with religion and i'm a perfectly good person with my own morals and thoughts.

It is normal to question. We all do.

Believe what seems right to you. If you can connect with it, if it fills your spiritual void, then follow that,

I myself am a Catholic, and I love it. My church is highly service oriented, and that helps me feel that it is worthwhile.

Being a good christian means being a better person. Many Bible Thumpers are hypocrits, plain and simple. A good christian should try to emulate Jesus's example, and be kind and helpful to others.

As to the "why don't you belive in god" question, answer truthfully. You don't disbelieve in God. You simply don't believe in what religion says he is.

Oh, and I don't believe God sends people to hell either. We do that to ourselves. God tries everything to keep us from going there.

Of course it's normal! You believe in whatever you want. You don't have to believe in any one thing just because someone else says you have to, and you can change your beliefs if you need to. It's nobody else's business what you believe in--that should really be a private thing. When they say that, just give them a funny look and keep walking.

I am really impressed with your question. I just thought you should know.

Alot of teenagers will go through a "trial" of sorts when it comes to their faith during their teen years. It can make or break a faith and can completely solidify or dispel your faith all together.

I am not fully in tune of all the doctrine of the unitarion Universalist church, so I cannot compare it to anything else. But reading the bible does not make you "good". Reading the bible is meant to strengthen faith and to be used to spread God's word and find comfort in it. I am a Lutheran and no matter how much I read the bible, not one second of it will make me better in the sight of God. It my faith that gets God's attention. Not my works or how much I read the bible, but my faith personally.

I'm not trying to preach to you or convert you or anything, but that is just how I was taught and what I believe. It is normal for many people to think they are good Christians just because they read the bible and do good works. That won't get you to heaven, and that is the exact point Martin Luther tried to make back in the 1500's. Faith by faith, not by works.

If someone asks you, you tell them you don't know because you don't know what you believe. In time you will find your beliefs, just not now.

I hope I helped, and if you have anymore questions, my AIM is Alpha0mega345. I hope you find what your looking for (especially in God).

-Ryan

Wow. You sound a lot like me. I don't really know what religion I am, either. Believe what you believe is what I say. Answer peoples' questions truthfully.
