Hello there,
Are you drinking/ eating anything "diet?"
Aspartame, which is the chemical compound n*trasweet is made of, has a list of problems a mile long:
http://www.dorway.com/badnews.html
http://www.aspartame.com/
http://www.soundandfuryproductions.com/Pages/sweet%20misery.html
... plus a thousand others if you search google for the word "aspartame."
It seems to me that one of the MANY cases listed on the site was similar to yours.
If not, I would type the name of the antibiotic into google, in combonation with words like "side effects", "problems" or anything along those lines.
If your body is NOT actually shaking, and you just feel like it is, you should definately see a neurologist.
Let me know how you do,

We all live in Soutern Utah in a mobile home park. 140 families who live here many of whom are disabled and/or on fixed incomes. Many of us have mobile homes that are on a foundation. A greedy land owner has bought this property and has imposed a 79.5% rent increase that a lot of us just can't make. we have approx. 1 month to figure out what to do. No one here seems to have an answer. This man is known to buy land which he in turn drives people out, then developes it.WHAT CAN WE DO? If anything please let us know. Thank You for your time. Hello there,
A few notes that may be of service:
If he does this regularly, and you aren't the first... Then he knows what he is doing. He is NOT going to make a deal with you that he will not raise the rent if you get 5,000 signatures.
I am surprised that nobody has mentioned going to the news media. Make noise about this to every single radio & tv station, and don't forget the newspapers all over your state.
You need to find out if this guy is a member of the Mormon church. If he is, you can appeal to the elders of the church for help. They can kick him out of the church for something like this, but it is likely that they will not unless there is at least one mormon family in your park.
If you pay the increased rent, and he still wants to develop the land, he will continue to raise it until nobody is left to fight.
Call the ACLU and see what they can do to help you. If you have a large percentage of a certain ethnic group, you might also try appealing to a group which represents them for assistance.
Eventually, no matter what he will probably try to develop the land. Getting as many people on your side as possible will help.

A few months ago, i had a really bad cold sore at the corner of my mouth. And it finally went away 2-3 weeks later. Now i have another one in the SAME exact spot. Is it possible it could be something else and not a cold sore? (Like an STD. Ive never given oral, but theres been contact outside of my mouth.) (link)

It is very odd that it is in the same place.
You should see your doctor while there is an outbreak happening so he/she can swab the wound and look at a culture under a microscope.
It is really important that you don't put it off.

hi this is mandi! i put a question out on the activism page like this one! hopefully more people will see it here and be able to help me! i really want to start an organization! im a teenager, and i really want to help the world. im thinking of getting people to donate bible and i can like send them to africa or sumthin. gosh i pray every night the rebels in africa would be stopped...ugh!! i feel the only thing i can do to help those women who are being raped everyday is to pass on the word! please help me! im wondering how to start an organization! please answer--i give good ratings and feedback for good answers--also if you have any questions or more info, please put it on my column! reelbigfishingirl (link)

Have you looked to see if there is already an organization doing what you want to do?
If you start another to do the same thing, it may take away from the usefulness of both.
For example:
http://www.wgm.org/cms/Fields/cmsFieldShow.asp?did=91
...they have schools setup over there to train native pastors and preachers. It would take you many years to get to that point no matter what. Why not join them? Write and ask what you can do to help?
Maybe when you are old enough you could do a missionary trip there.
You mentioned Africa specifically, but there is a really OUTSTANDING place called Gospel For Asia. They really have their stuff together:
http://www.gfa.org/gfa/
... Why not raise money for the work they are doing instead of doing all the work yourself?

alright here's a good story. so i met this girl a few months ago, we hit things off really well and we started going out a bit. I was basically head over heels for her, and she liked me a lot as well. Then one day things just suddenly go to hell. I talk to her and she says she simply no longer likes me. I get extremely depressed for a while because it broke my heart. Not much later I find out that basically right after things broke off with her she hooked up with one of my best friends. He confesses this to me and I'm okay with it. Then I find out it happened multiple times, and they went pretty far with it. What would you do. (link)
|
I am really sorry about this.
He isn't your friend. In my opinion "Friend" means someone who would jump in front of a bullet for you. How many friends do you have when you think of it like that? :-(
I am sorry you fell in with a two-timing slut. It happens. The next girl you like, if possible, take a close look at the trail of broken hearts she has left behind. If there isn't a trail, your odds are way better of being happy.
I am sorry,

Hello there,
First things... Don't be ashamed to tell your mom. It happens to a LOT of people.
You are going to have to go to the doctor for help on this one.
Did you know that it can be a symptom of certain things?
A sweet smell like fruit, or fruit that has been out too long can be a symptom of diabetes.
An chemical cleaner type smell like ammonia can indicate an unhappy liver or kidneys.
Some times people smell wierd for days after eating food that they don't even know they are alergic to.
Here's more on that:

What's the best way to ask your parents if you can go out on a date- I'm not talking about "boyfriends" that you have in like 7th grade, I mean HS bfs .. and how to tell your parents that you have a bf without feeling-weird and uncomfortable! Thanks (link)
|
Hello there,
Don't expect your Dad to be thrilled... Until he meets him. If he is a good guy, all your troubles will be behind you when your parents meet him.
You have to trust me on this one... It is VERY frightening for a guy to be introduced for the first time as a boyfriend.
If I might suggest, introduce him as a friend from school first. Have him over for "homework" or whatever. After he has met your parents the first time, and left the house, tell your parents that you really like him. Tell them how long you have known him at school and how long you wanted to ask him over.
See if you can get him invited over for dinner once or twice. After all this: tell your parents that you two decided to "go steady."
I know it sounds like a lot, but that is the way it is kinda supposed to happen. If you drop the bomb on mom and dad about having a serious boyfriend without any warning... They might hate this boy, just because they feel left out.
Let us know how it goes,
DangerNerd.
P.S. Tell the guy what your dad is into. Hobbies, sports, anything he likes. If they have anything in common it will be a breeze.

Not my field of expertise, but my cousin once had a very similar situation. It turned out to be scabies.
Now, don't freak out. It isn't something you only get from sex. Quite the opposite, and girls are at WAY greater risk. Why? Because girls share clothes. The little mite that causes the bumps can live in clothing for as much as a week, and washing the clothes with normal detergent doesn't kill it.
Here is some info that tells all about it:

I just wanted to say that I really admire the answer you gave to the person who asked why most people on this site are 13 year old girls. It was really thought out and I was actually quite taken a back by it, I'd never thought about it that way before. You've really impressed me so I added you to my favourite columnists list. Hello rainbowcherrie,
I appreciate the kind words. I just really hadn't thought about it until now. When I started writing, it just all came out. I am glad it was of interest to you.
I am hoping it will stir a bunch of activism on the part of girls who never even thought about why there are no guys here their age here, when they have done everything they can to make this a hardcore girls only clique. If they invite the boys, they will be here. When did you ever hear of a boy being invited to a girls party by a girl he likes, turning down that same offer?
I followed a link here to answer a computer question. Now look what I have done! :-)

My question is, why does it seem like an overwhelming amount of the advisors on this web site are teenage girls? I'm serious about this. Is it because they have more time on their hands, have a stronger feeling of needing to give advice, need more advice.etc.etc? What do you think the reason is? (link)
|
Hello there,
I have been trying my best to figure that one out...
Have you noticed that girls will tell their dads things that they simply can NOT bring themselves to talk to their mother about? Same thing goes for boys. There is a definate lack of Dad type creatures around these days. Failing to have that person to bounce things off of, they ask their peers.
Why? Because, quite frankly, when you are 13, practically everyone you know well enough to ask adviceis also 13. Boys and girls all the same.
The difference comes in that a boy can ask his mother: "Hey Mom, what can I do to impress this girl." Mom is a girl, so she knows the answer usually. Don't EVER ask your mother what a boy likes... :-)
A boy at 13 has a number of people around of the male type, varying in ages, which he can ask most everything he would ask a dad if he were there. Pastor/teacher/martial arts instructor/mechanic/barber, etc.
We wouldn't think twice about asking someone we hardly know if we should get roses or chocolate, do we look alright, etc.
People say men don't ask for advice... That's bull. You see, we do. We will ask, get the answer and move on. I remember hearing girls talk about what their friend said they should do, and their friend's friend said this and that and the other.
Men, are very simple in such respects. We don't intentionally ask people we know will give bad advice. If we have a matter of life experience, we like to go to people who have already lived through a few more things than we have. For example: Back when I was 12, I wouldn't go seeking investment or job advice from someone 13. Try 50+ They have already done all the career stuff and if they did it right you get good advice. If however they did it wrong, you get to find out what job you do NOT want to get into. By asking our elders these things we learn something either way.
Today we all have reduced opportunities. When you are little today, you can't just hang out with adults... The news people have everyone convinced that every adult is a predator unless they are your parent. Guess what? The last figures I saw indicated that better than 80% of all child sexual abuse is committed by one or both parents.
What effect has this had? When I was about 6 my Dad went to pick up something from an equipment yard. I went with him and noticed a guy rebuilding an engine. Dad went into the office to pay, so I wandered over and started bugging this guy. By the time Dad came out, I was learning how to use a torque wrench. (The thing you use to make sure all the bolts on something are tight enough, but not too tight.)
Dad asked the guy if I was bothering him. He said not at all, so Dad left me there to learn for about 3 hours. I got a lot of that. Dad was a fair judge of character.
Now, there usually isn't a dad at all. :-( Everyone is so scared of things that kids never get a chance to talk to many people wiser than themselves.
We have ended up in a place where the only place to get advice is from our peers. People your own age usually give bad advice about almost everything. Boys, girls it doesn't matter.
Right now, on this board, there is a 13 year old female asking what she needs to do to start having sex. There are a few people who asked her to think twice, but those in her age range were less concerned with her mental health, and more concerned she get an appropriate condom.
A 14 year old, said something like "Don't wait till you get old like me, get your groove on before you get too old"
BAD ADVICE! Down! Bad Advice, no biscuit!
Adults in general aren't out to get you. It's a fact. If your Mom gives you bad advice, it isn't because she is trying to ruin your life... It is because she THINKS WHAT SHE IS TELLING YOU IS RIGHT. It doesn't make it right. Not at all. Same thing for Dads. (Though I mostly see complaints about mothers here.)
When my parents knew I was old enough to think for myself is NOT when I said I was. It was after I proved it. I thought something my parents said was unreasonable. My dad told me to put it in writing. I did my own thinking on why I felt that way. Then I started researching the idea. What I found out was that my parents were right about that. I wrote it out and handed it over. It was after that that my parents KNEW that if I looked into things for myself I would come to the right conclusion. Even if I didn't like it.
Short version: You want to be treated like a thinking, well read, intelligent and wise adult? Act like one.
Adult life is a lot easier when we spend our youth listening and learning everything we can to make smart choices.
Here's another thought: Travel. Out of this country. See how the rest of the world lives. Most people buy clothes because they are durable, not because they are "IN" (for about a week.) Guaranteed to open your mind to a whole new way of thinking.
Over a quarter million people died in the recent Tsunami... The survivors have NO PLACE at all to call home. And the current threads here are: "Should I wear a thong?" "Where do I get Like size 00 clothes, that are, like, in?" I like this boy...girl, etc."
The best thing that ever happened to me was seeing that almost everything I had been told to believe was important: Cars, clothes, trends, music, hair, team choice, etc. was completely and totally meaningless when you look at the big picture. I would have been right here asking the same kinda stuff(boy version of course) had I not had that opportunity.
Ok, this became a rant. Not against 13 year old girls. A rant against what our society tells 13 year old girls and boys is important for them to be worrying about.
Back to the topic of WHY:
Girls, let me ask you a question: How many of your girlfriends did you tell about this site?
Now tell me how many boys you told about it? Did you tell them there was a guy with 20+ years of computer experience they could ask questions for free? (I normally charge $75.00 per hour in my shop.) Did you tell them there was a place to ask questions about cars and trucks? How about model rockets? R/C cars? Paintball? Airsoft guns? Model building? Sports? Weight training? Hunting? CB radios? Computer hardware/software/networking? Car stereo? Hydraulics? Truck driving scools?
Have you told a single boy you know about any of the things that HE might be interested in?
Do I see one hand raised? Ok, so you get a boy in here and he asks a question. Wonderful! What do most of the girls do? Make fun of him, laugh at him, tell him he is stupid or he would already know and CORRECT HIS SPELLING! I am almost to the point where I have looked at every question on this site. I saw a lot of that on my way through.
What do I do when someone asks a question I don't know the answer to... I research it and post links to appropriate resources. When was the last time you did that for a question you couldn't answer? Saying something "cute" or mean as hell does not encourage the participation of teen boys. Teen boys are actually quite insecure about opening themselves up to be called stupid, or made fun of. They don't handle it well at all. It just guts them and they are never quite the same.
Here is something to consider: You have this guy, who you really like. You set up a date. You go out and buy the BEST outfit on earth. Your Mom likes this guy, so she gives you her credit card, sends you to get hair and makeup done in the BEST place in the city.
So far so good? Ok, now he shows up to take you out, and when you open the door, he bursts out laughing! Pointing and LAUGHING AT YOU!
Your new duds may be stylish, and the hair may be the latest french design but to him it is hilarious. He doesn't know anything about french fashion, or Neiman Marcus so to him you look like a hooker in a clown suit.
How BAD would you feel? Would anything ever make you COMPLETELY whole again after something like that?
Same thing if this site offers to answer questions and then the people here ridicule and belittle the askers. Boys minds work different than girls. It isn't a bad thing, it is just they way we are wired.
I got an email from someone after I answered their question. They said they quit using the site because the response they got to a very well thought out question was: "F***ing Dumb*SS!"
I reported another place this person used the same abusive response, using the abuse report feature, and this was the response:
"Moderator Response
Submitted: by FrEe2bMe
Reponse: While K**************'s response was not appropriate, if you look at their over all rating it is only a 2.21. That is why there is now a threshold where you can set who you want to recive answers from Under Profile Setting adjust it so you only recieve answers from people like 4 or higher or whatever your comfortable with. :)"
This guy, yes GUY, 15 years old didn't know that, so he will never be back.
Did anyone step up to tell this person off? Did anyone else report it? Do you even know where the abuse link is?
It is up to the majority here to decide if this is going to be Advivenators.com or Abusenators.com
Since the majority here are 13 year old girls, I ask you: Which will it be?

Start riding a bike everywhere... You will not believe the shape your legs will be in.
The M&M thing is complete bull. Look at the total calories on the back of the M&M bag, then look up a calorie chart on google. Do the math and you will see. When I actively played football in school I would down a 28" pizza after the game, all by myself and never gain a pound at the next weigh in. Let's see... A pizza 2 feet 4 inches in diameter with EXTRA CHEESE, versus a few M&Ms. Hmm. Start with the bike and you forget worrying about a little candy.

okay, so because i go to a private school, it ends at 4;00 pm
so i get home around 5:00. Everyday of the week i have something afetr school-so by the time i have dinner and start doing homework it is about 8:00, i am so overwelmed but my mom insists on me having these afetr school activities. the only day i have to myself is friday-but my mom usually makes me clean my room or something, so i don't even have that. What should i do, i don't wanna cancel any of them cuz i like them. But i also don't wanna be so tired and nervous all the time. I even have to do my homework in school cuz i don't wanna fail or i wake up at like 5:00 am so that i finish my hw. What should i do?

I have noticed something about private school workloads: You are being prepped for the "real" world. I wish I was kidding. My advice for what it is worth is to approach your mother and tell her that something has to give, because you are at the end of your proverbial rope.
If you think she would pick something that would be the thing you would be most ok with, let her make suggestions on what you might remove from your schedule. If you think she will pick the thing that you most want to keep, then let her know the things you can't live without.
Maybe your mom doesn't realize what she has in you... Read some of the questions on this board. Better yet, turn your mother loose on this site to read what the other people your age are worried about: "I'm fat, I'm skinny, I like this boy/girl/lizard/etc but she/he/it doesn't like me, I am 13 and all my friends had sex at like, you know, 11! I don't want to get too old!"
Do you realize that you are one of the few people here to post a question in this particular forum that even deserves an answer.
To me it sounds like your mom lucked out with you. She should be proud! If she isn't, then she hasn't taken a very good look around. :-(
Ok, so would you like to know why your mom doesn't realize how serious this is for you?
It is actually quite simple:
For adults, the schedule you are describing never seems to stop. They have been living it so long, that they don't even realize they don't have a life anymore. If they do realize it, they don't know how to fix it.
Like it or lump it, you are still growing up, and need to have a little time. You do NOT need to be burnt out at 18. It happens.
Thanks for posting a good, intelligent question. :-)

I live in Utah and I expect everyone to have big opinions on my religion because it is different. My boyfriend is LDS (morman) and I am Lutheran. We have breifly dicussed if we were to get married, where would it be at. He wants a temple wedding and I want my chruch wedding. There is no way I would convert. But we seem to argue about this a lot. I am scared I might lose him because of this. How can I settle it without losing him? (link)

What do you know about the LDS?
I'll give you the short version: If he marries you and you will not convert to LDS, he will have to leave the church.
Do you know if he has his temple reccomendation and all that? In other words, is he wearing the sacred undies? If so, you would really be endangering him to insist on this.
My family were mormon until my father was told the first blood oath of the church, which he would have to take in order to proceed.
You have absolutely no idea what you are involved in.
