A few thoughts I've gathered from my teenage years (and being on this site for most of them!):
1. If you Google song lyrics, the song will come up 99% of the time.
2. Dress to fit your body type, and buy the size that fits. If you're a size 6, squeezing into a 4 won't make you look skinnier. It makes you look fat when you aren't.
3. You will never regret waiting to lose your virginity.
4. There is such a thing as a stupid question, but we're all allowed to ask them.

I'm taking medication that makes my lips extremely dry. As a result, they are constantly chapped, and a few days ago, they started to crack and bleed on the sides. It is painful and not attractive AT ALL. Chapstick helps a little..I reapply chapstick about every 15 minutes.

How do I make the pain go away and help my lips get better? =[ Don't tell me to stop the medication. I need it, and the lip thing isn't a HUGE deal...

Vaseline, Burt's Bees beeswax lip balm (it works incredibly well, it has a cooling effect to ease pain, and you ally it with you finger.. it'll be less painful)

Plus, drink plenty of water. & when your done taking the medication and your lips are just cracked and peeling, gently exfoliating with sugar and water will probably help a lot.

Technically, no, because Chapstick is a brand name.

But certain LipSmackers moisturize like Chapstick..

It doesn't really matter.. basically the same thing as calling a tissue a Kleenex or a cotton swab a Q-tip.

EDIT: Yeah, it's lipbalm. I guess.. if it mositurizes. I'm allergic to some of them & it dries out my lips, so yeah. No moisturizing there =P

how do you burn cds from your itunes?? i've done it before, but the button i used to click that would burn them isnt there. do you have to be signed into itunes to burn your cds? because the burn isnt there anymore. helppppppp

OK i have itunes, and i have like 2000 sings on it, when i download a new song on limewire, i click on "add folder" on iTunes, and it adds all the new songs that got added to that folder (My Music!) but lately, it's been adding all the songs! so i have like the same song 4 times on Itunes, because i click on add folder to add the new songs ive added.. you know? and thats a big problem because i ccant have any copies because that takes up space on my ipod, and whats the point in wasting space and not being able to have as many songs as you want because you have the same song like 17 times, you know? its stupid! so what do i do??

I usually have a clear clomplexion but this morning i woke up and i had a huge pimple right in the middle of my forehead. It feels like it's a knot and it hurts sooo bad! How can I get it not to be sooo swollen and to clear up really fast I have a date tomorrow!

Clean and Clear Advantage Spot Treatment. Put in on every hour or so, and trust me, it'll be wayy smaller and less red tomorrow.

Put a little concealer and/or foundation on it, (but not too much, you'll just attract more attention to it!!) and you're golden.

Don't pick at it; you'll get an icky scar that you'll have to live with for monthis!!

p.s. You'll notice more than anyone else will, so don't worry.

On itunes i saw this thing that says pod casts. I went onto people. com and they have it on there. What is it?

Podcasts are basically free radio shows that you can stream/download/put on your MP3 player. They cover everything from the weather, politics, and talk radio, to indie music and Harry Potter.

iTunes is one of the easist programs to use for this, especially if you're planning on putting them on an iPod. Plus they have a HUGE directory full of every possible kind of show.

Try it out; it's free, so why not?
p.s. If you're from the Boston area, KISS108 has a podcast of their funniest moments from the radio show. I'm sure other stations do too; so check that out for your favorite station. They're pretty cool. :]

If he has a girlfriend, he's probably happy with her.

If he'd leave your current girlfriend for you, who's to say he won't do the same thing to you when another girl comes along?

You're probably better off staying friends. Or, don't go out with him right away if he breaks up with his current girlfriend, because it'll totally be on the rebound.

Like I said, you should probably move on from this guy. Just my opinion.

I have been married 9 years. In the beginning my wife and I got along great and I would say I considered her my best friend. Over the years though she has become difficult to live with. We do have two kids (girl age 7, and a boy, almost 2). She is currently a stay at home mom. She has really changed, as have I, but with her, she is always yelling and belittling, particularly to my daughter and to me as well. We don't fight every day, but several times a week is probably the norm. The other day as my daughter was getting ready for school, she was yelling at her to get ready (I was taking her to school), As she was leaving for school my wife yells out the door to my daughter, I was hoping to be in a good mood today, its your fault that I'm not and then she slammed the door. It has gotten to the point of being unbearable. We are in counseling together and I am trying to be more patient with her, but its not easy - she is not very receptive to it and claims she has a right to yell, etc, and blames everyone around her for her state. She doesnt work, so I am the only one working and paying the bills. I am also the one doing the majority of the housework when I get home. She claims she "Can't" do housework because she's "watching the kids" but I know from my daughter, neighbors, and from my own observations that she keeps my son (almost two) in either the playpen or stapped into the high chair most of the day while she watches TV or spends time on the computer IMing her chat group buddies. Just yesterday we had an argument which got pretty loud (I never raise my voice, its always her thats quick to yell and slam doors). The neighbor came downstairs to say he was tired of the noise and that "next time he was calling the cops" - my wife then started yelling at him, which prompted him to call the cops. The cops came and they asked ME to step outside and stood me in stance to pad me down and asked if I had weapons on me or in the house. I was afraid they were going to cuff me! They just asked what was going on and after talking to us, they left. I had never been put in that position before (cop taking me out) and it was very humiliating and caused by nothing that I did. I am now at my wits end and sorely in need of advice. Am not really considering divorce but starting to think it might be best for the kids. My parents currently retired and are moving out of state so I am afraid of being left with no support system here (I have no other family here while my wifes family is.) They want me to move my family where their going, and thats also a possibility and my wife is open to it as we are in need on a larger house but cant afford it in california. advice please on how to deal with everything.

It's possible that your wife has depression, or something else, that's making her take out her anger and frustrations on other people. Some days, we all need to vent. But when it comes to the point that she's yelling at a seven-year-old and having the police called, it's obviously an issue. It might be a good idea to talk to her regular doctor (or have your counselor refer you to someone) and see if she has a chemical imbalance.

From what I've read, going to therapy seperately can sometimes be extremely helpful. The two of you are clearly not seeing eye to eye on most things. By talking about your concerns seperately to an impartial third party, it may help trememdously. (It's worth a try, isn't it?)

Make sure your kids know that they're loved. Do something with them both -without your wife- that they'll both enjoy. The two year old will be visually stimulated, so try something simple, like the zoo or aquarium :] You could use this time to do something really nice for your wife (i don't know exactly how you feel about her anymore) but if you've been getting along, send her to a spa for the day, or let her have a day to herself.

Try to keep your family together.. it usually works out better that way (unless your wife remains abusive and hurtful)


I'm sorry I wasn't much help here, I'm not very experienced in this department. A few columnists I recommend asking directly (just copy/paste this question to their inbox) are younggrandma, Xenolan and WiseAl. They're older than most of the users on this site and have far more experience with this kind of thing.

okay so i have a video ipod. and it was working fine until today. it was plugged in as normal, but all the sudden this box comes up that says my computer can't read the ipod and that i need to use ipod software updater and restore the ipod to factory settings. why did this happen? and now my computer won't recognize my ipod so i can't even fix it! please help me!!!

Video iPods have a major software bug; a ton of them are getting recalled. I'd try calling Apple and seeing that you can do about it.

In the meantime, restore the iPod to factory settings and see if that fixes your problem.

Make sure all your files are backed up first, though. EVERYTHING will get erased.

I'm 15/f, 5'5, and about 114 pounds. I'm pretty happy with my weight, but my problem is my "face weight". If someone would see a picture of just my face and not my body, you would think I was fat. My head is kind of big, and my mouth is small and my cheeks are somewhat chubby. How can I make my face look more thinner and more defined?

Your hairstyle has a lot to do with this. Make sure it compliments the shape of your head- big, bouncy waves may overwhelm your face, just as stick-straight, sleek hair may do the same thing. Try out a few different styles and see what works :]

Shiny lipgloss or LipInflation (I've never used it myself, but some people swear by it; Sally Hansen makes one that isn't that expensive) may make your lips appear bigger.

If you draw attention to your eyes (dramatic make-up, colored contacts, glasses) people will notice that part of your face instead.

Lastly, your body is still changing. Everything should even out in a couple years :]

p.s. - this is another one of those things that you'll notice more than other people ever will, sort of like having a zit on your nose, or gaining half a pound.

I have been getting my period for around 6 months, but I havn't gotten it since August. I know it is normal it to skip, but when will it come back?
Now for the random question:
Why do most sexual offenders live in Florida?

There's really no way to tell when it will come back. Even for the first few years, you can be irregular, especially if you've made some lifestyle changes (eating habits, weight loss/gain, exercise, etc)

As for the sex offenders, I really don't know. Maybe because a lot of families go there for vacation, and teengers go for Spring Break in Miami? No idea.

Normally, I'd say to ask them yourself.. but that's not a VERY bad idea in this situation =P

Yup, that's one of the best breakfasts you can have :]

Since you like peanut butter a lot, might I suggest trying natural peanut butter? It has a slightly different taste to it and it's even better for you than the regular kind.

I have to write an essay that is due tomorrow to help me out for a debate, my topice is the PRO side of 16 YEAR OLDS HAVING AN UNENCOMBERED(NO RESTRICTIONS) LICENCE. i need to know peoples point of views on this becasue i really am against the fact of haveing a unrestriced licence. please tell me resons that would be good for have a unrestriced licence.

-If you get an unrestricted license sooner, you can get more experience learning how to drive.
-How are we gonna learn if we have to wait so long to get our license?
-It will teach us kids respolsibility.
-There can still be restrictions (i.e. stricter speeding ticket enforcements, failing grades= restricted license, etc)

I'm in algebra this year (8th grade)
I'm actually pretty lost, I'm a straight A student, except for the fact that I have a C in math. My teacher last year didn't do much teaching and we played around most of the year, this is leaving me more behind.

So, I pay attention in class, ask questions, and do the homework, but I still don't get it! Its very hard for me to pay attention because my teacher has a very southern accent and it drives me insane and she can't pronounce alot of words. She has one student teach the class also, which is annoying, just because she likes that student.

When I go in for extra help, she gives me a worksheet and tells me do complete it, then she leaves the classroom! She doesn't even explain it!

My parents keep suggesting a tutor, but it hasn't happened yet. Any other suggestions as how to bring up my grade?

Is there another Algebra teacher in the grade? You could stay after with him/her for some extra help.

Also, consider enlisting the help of a classmate. Students your own age (who understand the material, of course) can be a gold mine - and even easier and less intimidating than a tutor.

Lastly, read over the sections a few times, if you haven't already. I don't know what textbook you have, but most of them these days have websites where you can look up specific examples.
