okay so i have a video ipod. and it was working fine until today. it was plugged in as normal, but all the sudden this box comes up that says my computer can't read the ipod and that i need to use ipod software updater and restore the ipod to factory settings. why did this happen? and now my computer won't recognize my ipod so i can't even fix it! please help me!!!

If you have the itunes/ipod disk that it came with, try reinstalling that and then type in the little code on the back of your ipod that says its real.
