holahayley56 answered Thursday June 29 2006, 1:31 am: I believe he is.
This isn't really the right place to ask, because there are so manny people on here with there own opinion. Its all faith really. Theres no scientific evidence really or anything. Its just your faith. Go to church, or read a bible. If you agree with it or have faith that he is. Then, good. If you don't then oh well. You dont have to be a member of a church just go to a service. [ babiigirl's advice column | Ask babiigirl A Question ]

aliapple answered Saturday June 24 2006, 4:05 pm: My brilliant answer:
Everyone has a different opinion on this topic. You have to figure it out on your own. A lot of people think that God created the earth with help from science, others belive it was only God and even more belive it was purely science. Truthfully, no one can decide for you and you have to decide whether or not you belive in God or not. You can research by using google, religous sites, the bible and other books. Hope I helped! kallan answered Friday June 23 2006, 12:51 pm: Yes, God is real! There is scientific evidence that what is says God did in Genesis 1 and2, those are the Creation Stories if you don't know. And if you are asking about God being real because of some hard times you are going through, just know that God doesn't give you more than you can handle, and even if you feel like you can't handle it, He knows you can. I'm really sorry is this sounds like a "Christian" answer, but I am a Christian, so this is what I believe to be true. Hope this helped you!
Alin75 answered Friday June 23 2006, 6:38 am: Typical "God is real" arguments rely on the following type of statement:
1- How else can you explain -blank-? (life, the universe, miraculous healing, the Cosby Show, etc)
2- Examples of people who have strayed from "the path" and found their way back, examples of strange miracles etc
3- An argument that goes something like... God naturally does not want to become too apparent to you, and therefore he does not give you proof of his existance, however you can feel him or something.
Let me start by saying that I am an agnostic (one who has accepted that we do not know, and do not have enough evidence upon which to draw any sort of conlcusion). Here is the problem with the type of arguments claiming God exists:
1- The fact that we do not know something in no way whatsoever proves the existance of anything. If I dont know how life began that does not mean God created it. In the past people attributed all sorts of things to various moods of God, things later explained by science. Not knowing proves only one thing... that you have no freakin' clue.
Now, let me also add that even if not knowing were to somehow strengthen the existance of a God, it would in no way strengthen the existance of a specific God (which is what most people usually want you to believe... we dont know hence the Christian God exists... try to make that argument stick in court)
2- Personal examples are completely biased. People have all sorts of experiences (very real to them) which are very much influenced by the society they grew up in, what they have been taught etc. People tend to be so blinded by their religious beliefs that they forget how many other religions there are out there. Each one of these has their collection of amazing happenings and personal stories of regaining ones faith (also these religions are mutually exclusive- each claims to be the "true" faith). Its odd how people tend to have religious experiences that correspond to the religion they grew up with isnt it?
3- This has been cooked up a long time ago to make people stop asking questions. Why isnt there proof? Because God does not want to give you any.
Think about it, if something happens that is great... it is Gods will. If something happens that is bad... God works in strange ways. If a miracle occurs it is proof of God. If you find holes in the miracle... God does not give out proof of his existance. Very very handy this line of argument.
In the end the most important thing is to think for yourself. If you truly begin to "feel" that God exists, fair enough. However, beware dodgy arguments and false logic, it will get you nowhere. Again, to me, the only reasonable conclusion is that we simply dont have enough evidence. If people had acknowledged their lack of insight centuries ago we might have averted hundreds of years of wars, torture, oppression, murders etc... all in the name of a God that offers no proof of his existance. mistidew4u answered Friday June 23 2006, 5:55 am: To tell you the truth, they're is no proof that any religion is real.To me, there are some things about God that I believe and some I dont.Like I dont believe in the "virgin" Mary it is possible to get pregnant without having sex but not very likely. And also about adam and eve how can they create the entire world is not possible. But on the other side we had to get here one way or another and we didn't just come out of thin air.But it is totally up to you in what you choose to believe you can also go to: www.myspace.com/babydreams7 and look at the "About me" section and see what I wrote towards the end.Hope I answered your question!!
Eustachius answered Friday June 23 2006, 4:01 am: Whether you believe in Him or not doesn't make Him "real" or "not real." If God exists, He simply exists, and if you don't like that, not believing in him won't do you any good. If He's not real, then He's not real and believing in Him won't make Him real... You see where I'm going with this?
Yes, God exists. People who don't believe He does exist want to believe that they are the highest being in the universe.
You can tell that God exists by looking around you. None of what you see around you could have been left to chance, or happened just because an a cell happened to mutate over millions of years into a living, breathing, RATIONAL human. Look at the complexity of even a single cell. There is no possible way in 26 billion years that something as "simple" as a cell could have evolved from nothingness. Not only that, but something that is left to chance results in chaos, yet everything created in the universe complements something else and is upheld by another. It's definately not the work of chance.
As for the "big bang" theory... Matter does not beget matter without taking in something else. In other words, you couldn't just have two atoms and then BANG a universe. Even those few atoms had to have an origin. Well, I guess there's one way you could explain the "big bang" theory. God said:"let there be light" *BANG!* And in that case, He created the matter.
poetqueen answered Thursday June 22 2006, 12:46 pm: thats really up to you. there are alot of religions and most believe in a certain idea of a god. but if you are for the theory of evolution then thats considered atheist if you think the world was created through evolution and we all evolved. do some research to find out about different religions and find out whats most meaningful to you, whats most important and follow whatever you believe. dont be afraid to ask your friends and parents what they think, because they can usually explain things to you pretty well. good luck! BMXPoet answered Thursday June 22 2006, 7:01 am: wow...thats a lot of answers that say basically the same thing...oh well, hope mine differs...
basically, the answer to your question lies within yourself...i know, i know, i dont mean to sound all yoda-like, but thats just how it is. whatever you feel most comfortable saying, doing, and believing, is your answer. then when you decide whether god is real or not, theres the whole thing about what he/shes LIKE. with so many different religions out there, you have a pretty big choice. so, your belief in god (or lack thereof) all depends on what you feel most comfortable with.
by the way, an interesting fact that fits with this is that if you have seven people other than yourself that believe the same thing as you, you can legally start your own religion, so if none of the other religions fit what you believe, make your own! Sunshine answered Thursday June 22 2006, 2:01 am: Yes, I believe that God is real, because I wouldn't be here if he wasn't. I don't mean that just in the creation sense. You see I was born 2 monthe premature with the umbilical cord wrapped around my neck. The doctors didn't think that I would survive 24 hours. My grandmother started a prayer chain that spanned across the country. Obviously I survived. When I was a year old I still couldn't walk. The doctors told my parents that I would never walk and that due to the lack of oxygen to my brain during birth, I would be mentally and physically handicapped. When I was 18 months old, I took my first steps. Then the doctors said that by the time I was 12, I'd be in a wheel chair. Well, I'm 26 years old and I've never spent a single day in a wheelchair. I took honors classes in highschool and graduated and went on to college. I guess what I'm trying to say is I know that God is real, and it's proven to me with every step I take. My life and achievements have defied medical science. The only explanation that satisfies me is God heard my grandmother's prayers and thanks to her I'm here today. Notso answered Wednesday June 21 2006, 9:16 pm: That's a decision you come to on your own terms, not one your religion makes for you, or other people. If you are unsure of what you believe, research different religions, you might find one that expresses your beliefs perfectly. Or you may not. It doesn't mean you have to have a religion, or that you are wrong for not having one. Not everyone needs religion to make their life more fulfilled or meaningful. Some people do, but don't feel inadequate if you feel you are living life the way you feel right, whether or not a particular religion justifies your actions.
AskAndy answered Wednesday June 21 2006, 8:13 pm: God is real who do you think created everything? There has to be a supreme being that made the world and everything in it, which we call God. Now, religions vary, so His name varies from religion to religion. Basically whichever religion ends up with the right name of God and follows His word, gets to heaven. In my case God is Jesus Christ and I follow his word so I get to heaven, because I feel strongly I'm correct and that means I get to heaven! [ AskAndy's advice column | Ask AskAndy A Question ]
kristen22 answered Wednesday June 21 2006, 7:15 pm: How can we know if God is real? Wouldn't it be nice if we could pick up the telephone and give him a call? Or drive by his house just to see if his car was in the driveway? Fortunately, there are better ways to address this question. Consider this perspective: since God is infinite and we are finite, if God wanted to make himself known he would have to make his presence clear. So, are there any signs that point to the reality of God? We can look at the world and see if the world is constructed in such a way that it is reasonable to believe that there must be a God." Just as the hunter follows the trail of an animal that he has yet to see--paw prints, clumps of fur, broken branches--we are looking for the fingerprint of God in the physical world.
Water...colorless, odorless and without taste, and yet no living thing can survive without it.
The Bible was written over a 1500-year span, by 40 different authors, in different locations and on separate continents, written in three different languages, covering diverse subject matters at different points in history.11 Yet there is an astounding consistency in its message. Throughout the entire Bible the same message appears:
1. God created the world we live in, and created us specifically to have a relationship with Him.
2. He deeply loves us.
3. We have sinned and are under God's judgment, in need of His forgiveness.
4. God provided a way for our sins to be forgiven.
5. He asks us to receive His forgiveness and have a relationship with Him that will last eternally.
