kevin1986 answered Monday December 26 2005, 10:26 pm: It sounds better to say If I were you, but the correct way is If I was you. Start a sentence. I was going to the mall when I got attacked by two giant spiders. It is not correct to say I were going to the mall when I got attacked by two giant spiders. Yeah, it's one of those wierd exceptions, this is a perfect example of why English is the hardest language to learn. It's kinda like "How are you?" You is singular, but you don't say "How is you?", do you? Yeah, I didn't mean to give you a long english lesson. My apologies. [ AquamarineRose's advice column | Ask AquamarineRose A Question ]
