well i say a dog!!because if you get a cat then your going to halft to nuder it fast..or spade..only if you dont want your cat pissing everywhere..and you halft to keep a litter box..and you halft to change it everyno and then..but with a dog the enviroment is its toilet..but you halft to poddy train your dog..to not poddy in the house..i got a puppy and it took us like 3 mounths to potty train her..so you gotta be REALLLLY patient..you shouild kennal train the dog..and no its not torture..or by the dog one of those cages and only let it out when your going to take it poddy..and when it goes potty outside praise it like say good girl or boy..and pet it..and stuff like that..we tryed everything with my dog..so we had to kennal train her..and shes potty trained now..before she was pissing and shiting all over the house..but i have a moultiease get a small dog like i did..

Well in my opinion they both have their smelling bad moments. Whenever the cat uses the litterbox.. believe me, you smell it. And if you don't give your dog a bath after awhile, he can smell kinda stinky but that's only if you're like right next to him ( at least with my dog ) and whenever they go to the bathroom too..but dogs go outside, so you don't really smell it as long as you don't go over there really only to clean it up.. so my suggestion is a dog. Because they also seem more playful and active and cuddley whenever cats just seem to be like the own the house and they really only nap and then just quietly walk around the house the whole time. I'm always so close to stepping on my friends cats cause I don't hear them!! And I never see them in her house.. so I'd suggest a dog!! Hope I helped!!

they both have there times where they smell disgusting. Cats have the whole litter box thing, but when a dog gets older, it sometimes tends to smell worse.
But I'd say go for a dog. They're more loyal and active. Cats tend to think they own the house and don't really want to play around with you. Well, kittens do, but kittens are only kittens for so long.

Kats((for me)) r better animals. They don't stink as much. But if it's an inside kat...then ull have ta klean its litter box which isnt tha best smell in tha world!! haha!!

With a cat, you have to clean the litter box.. And that smells horrible. But with a dog, you have to give it constant attention and walk it regularly. I would recommend a dog because they don`t smell as bad, but you have to wash them.

i have 5 dogs and 1 cat i like my dogs the most b/c i potty trained them to go out side when they need to refresh.but it was hard to do. my cat.... i trained him to go in the litter box. but i dont like cleaning it out b/c it smells really bad.

Meh. They both smell. One cRaps INSIDE the house in a box.. which you must scoop.
The otheR cRaps OUTSIDE and kills the gRass that you bust youR ass getting so lovely. And you STILL have to clean up afteR it. Dogs eat a lot, and have Really bad bReath.. but they can be bathed.. unlike cats.

They both smell the same but as long as you give them baths it doesnt matter.im more of a dog person but go to a pet store with an open mind, get what catches your eye. even better, go to a pound or adoption center and save a life!

I've read the answers and everyone says get a cat. However, in my opinon you should get a dog. Yes, dogs usally smell worse but cat's litter boxes make the entire house smell like crap. Dogs go outside the house. Also cats can sometimes give you the cold shoulder. Nevertheless, you should go with the animal that you like better. I hope I helped! ♥ good luck

i got 2 dogs and neither smell bad. and they are 2 totally different breads i got a dollmation and she doesnt smell and wasnt hard to housetrain at all, when we got her she was fine. and my other dog is a mix of beshon and shnouzer(spelling) and she doesnt smell either but she was harder to house train. generally the smaller breads are harder to house train but the larger breads do shed more but they are so low mantnence you dont gotta take the larger onces to get groomed or give them to many baths and they are super friendly. Cats are cool but they arnt as friendly n playfull. and cats usually smell really bad and so does your house if you have one. most of my friends that have cats have smelly houses because of the litter box and alot of times cats spray everywhere... not alot of help on the smell factor, i personally like dogs better but its all up to you.

I like both dogs and cats. And i have two cats and a dog. I think cats are easier to take care of. Dogs can be more friendly can cats and cats can be more friendly than dogs. In my house my cats dont stink and they are more friendly. All i have to do is feed them and clean their kitty litter and You dont have to give them a bath because they clean themselves and they are very indapendednt. Dogs, U have to take them to the groomer if they need to and You have to bathe them which isnt that much fun unless you get a small dog. Dogs are a lot harder to take care of. A cat. So definitely. Dogs smell bad. But ferrets smell worse. Cats can smell though, so if you want a totally, 100% smell-free pet, get a goldfish.

You should most definitely get a cat, I'd know I have 5 cats and a dog. Cats are cleaner, mainly because they clean themselves. You have to give the dogs their baths...Dogs are hard to house train, Cats know to use the litter box quickly...Plus cats will love to curl up in bed with you, and they're so adorable! I love dogs, but I'm just a huge cat person! Much Love!!

Dogs make more messes.. and slob everywhere.. but you can keep them outside as well.. um cats well they have liter boxes that can sometimes stink if you dont keep them clean.. but you can also keep them outside too but most people like to keep cats inside.. and cats are more loving and easier to cuddle with.. dogs are alot more playful most of the time.. cats play to but like after a year or two old they dont like to do much of nothing but lay around and not be bothered with.. ♥ Dez

CATS!! dogs smell NaStY! keep the kitties litter box outside if you dont want it to smell inside. but with dogs, you cant make them not smell. and cats are all fluffy and cute and reaaaallly sweet!
