How?

Question Posted Thursday August 12 2004, 12:49 pm

You see, whenever I fly on airplanes, I usually get airsick, and I begin to throw up. But just a few months ago, I didn't throw up, so I was pretty happy. But last week, I just found out that my bf's mom invited me to Las Vegas, so we're taking a plane. I'm really scared that I'll throw up. AND I don't wanna be ashamed. What should I do to keep me from puiking? It seems so uncool typing this on an advice column but no one knows who I am anyways.

I usually get motion sickness so i take Drymamine.. try that! take 1 of them 2 hours before you fly and you shouldnt feel the plane moving, like you shouldnt get motion sickness, that might be why ur getting sick, let me know what happens!!!

Just talk to your bf's mom and let her know whats going on. Let her know that your not comfortable with flying. She'll understand and she might help you with not getting sick. Good Luck!

okay you should really take some Tums adn some saltine crackers...that helps to keep your naseous-level down...
Try falling asleep on the plane so you won't focus so much on your airsickness...

You may have grown out of this...who knows?? Warn your boyfriend if you feel comfortable enough...

I'm not good with this type of avice I've never been on a plane yet..but good luck and see if there are some light medicines to sooth your stomach aches on the plane...

Good Luck

There are pills for it. Try not eating junky food before and on the plane. If you think this might not be a physical problem, it could be a nervous reaction. If you think about movies like castaway or books like hatchet that involve plane crashes, you might just be psyching yourself out and causing you to throw up. Don't worry, it's normal. Try not to think about the bad things about planes, (crashes, turbulence) try to look forward to what you're gonna do when you get off the plane. Try to sleep too. If all else fails, have the barf bad handy. Hope I helped/
Love and Luck

Air is the safest way to travel and you're more likely to get hurt riding in a car. Just don't watch Final Destination or Castaway or Twilight Zone:The Movie.

if you think your gonna throw up go to the bathroom and do it. after you do then chew some gum so no one knows you threw up. you can also try to read a book, listen to music, and other stuff to keep your mind off of it.

I don`t think there is a way to stop throwing up. If there was that`d be great. But, some idea`s, you can maybe close your eyes & listen to music on your headphones.. to maybe take away some of that plane atmosphere & It will help get the fact that your on a plane off your mind for a while. Or you can try to sleep through the plane ride. Tell your boyfriend that you get airsick, so just in case you throw up, it wouldn`t be a surprise to him & you can be less embarassed. Have fun in Vegas!

Don't they have medicine for that? Like the ones you would take when going on a boat ride. Look into it. Motion sickness medicine or something. **Kacie**
