Hey Everyone :) I'm Kate and a level 2 mod on here. I've had this account since July 2004, so I've been on here since I was 13! Wow ... crazy for me to think how long ago that was. I will admit I don't check in as often as I once did, but being away at college, being in a sorority, and having a job when I'm not at school is very time consuming. I still try to help out as much as possible, and if you send me a question I WILL answer it. what is the difference between seeing some one and being boyfriend girlfriend with them?

when seeing someone, your just going out on dates. When boyfriend/girlfriend, your actually commited, to like the one month anniversary, you can't go out with anybody else. Seeing somebody is having multiple relationships, your not totally commited.

Hey y'all... thanx for the advice, but i left out one minor detail... i start varsity for a team in western pennsylvania... we are kickin some ass this year, and we are 10 wins and 1 loss... yea pretty fucking good huh? well neways... my coaches suck, and all my friends are on the soccer team... but i love volleyball.. and i think the only reason i am playing is so that i can play Junior Olympics volleyball(J.O.s)... so my mom wont let me quit volleyball and then play j.o.s b/c she says that i wouldnt have the experience that the other girls have, so i am not allowd to do it... i am so pissed off.. and our season is going to last longer this year b/c we are going to playoffs and i really dont want to... i just want it to end... its horrible,,, neway whati am asking is if i should play soccer or volleyball again... i know sum ppl answered, but i need some more feedback... please and thank you... HELP!!

Well, just because all your friends are doing soccer doesn't mean you have to. It seems like you really like volleyball. Stick with it. And I assume you really want to do j.o.s So if the only way you can do that is by playing volleyball, then do volleyball. I'm more of a soccer player, and I've never done volleyball, but if I was in your place, I'd choose volleyball. I'm not sure if you're still with that horrible coach, and if you are then it might still be worth it, it just depends on how much you want to do Junior Olypmics.

Now that that is settled, I will answer your question.

Are you still getting your menstrual cycle? If not, then there is no way you will get pregnant. And don't you think you're a tad old to be having a child. Chances are if you do get pregnant, you will give birth to a child with VERY high chances of getting downs syndrome. You will be around 59 when your child turns 18, and thats just if you have a child this year. You will have to work until atleast that age, and you will need money for college. It's very stressful to have a child (I'm taking parent/child development, and we're working with the computerized children) At your age, it';; be very difficult. If you are serious, then talk to a doctor about it. Do you realize that majority of the people on this site are under the age of 20?
Ask a doctor, you could always get a surrogate mother. (somebody who has the child for you, but it's your egg, and your guy's sperm)

ok people at my school make fun of me and call me fat cuz im a size 3 n not a 1 like them. this makes me upset cuz i dont think im fat n people liek make me cry cuz their so mean to me. what shud i do?

Oh my gosh!!! Size three is TINY!!! Well, it's tiny if your in middle school or up. Hey, you are sooo not fat!! Tell them to **** off. That one day you'll make a name for yourself, and they'll be saying can I take your order for the rest of their lives. They are conceited, and they are wanna be poser, losers. You are so much better then them, and it's okay to think that way. If they can't except you for you (the thin little thing that you are) then who cares, they aren't worth your time. Hey, I'm 13, 14 in 3weeks and 1 day, and I wear a 5, you have NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING to worry about. It's not that your fat, it's just thay you have a big but, or wider hips (Guys like curves!!)

any tips on how to improve your improv or improvisation skills? thats what i really need, cuz our leader makes us do that and im not good at acting without scripts

Okay, I'm in theatre 1, and were working on pantomime, improv, and voice, infact we had a quiz on it today. Have you ever seen the Drew Carey show "Who's Line is it Anyways" if not you need to watch it. You need focus, and imagination, yet stay on topic. The question game is what we play in class, and the party game, those are our classes favorites. Concentrate on what to say, and before it's your turn, think of things that you could say.
Just think of the situation, and pretend it's real. But don't use the same character each time. Once your out, and it's your turn again, come up with a different character. One from a different country, a different state, Be a redneck, or a yankey, or a yank. Have fun with the role that you are given, and don't really think about it. This is what we are told to do, we are told to make up a life for the character, whats it's name, where was he/she from, siblings?, hobbies, best friend, and all that, it makes it easier to become this person. whats your question? do you want to know how to get her to like you. You can't, it's her desicion. I have a friend who likes a guy, he's even asked her out, but she doesn't want to date him, because she knows it won't work out. Maybe thats the case. okay i have a problem.... i cut myself... and i dont know how to stop.. its just that i get all jittery and the room spins but as soon as i cut myself i feel normal again and i get a major high off of it.... i want to stop because i know that someone is going to find out and than my life wil be over... so i guess my question is how do i stop without my friends or family ever finding out???

talk to a school conciler, tell them you want to ask them something and cofide, as long as they don't tell anybody including friends and family. Don't confide unless they promise not to tell. Your best bet is, to tell friends, who will even if you ask them not to tell anybody, if they're good friends they will tell an adult who can help. Cutting is a VERY VERY VERY hard thing to quit, and all I can say is good luck, I know it's difficult, and it feels good (yes I do know from experience) but you HAVE to STOP IMMEDIATLEY before you cut a vein and die.

Alright, I highlighted my hair about August 17. Do you think it would be a good or bad for me to highlight it again? It's growing out so I think I should. Altho, I don't want to burn up my hair.

don't people usually do it every 6-8 weeks. I think it's been that long, yeah, because it's almost october 17th, it's like the 14th, so that would be about 7 weeks or so. It's around time for you to do it again. Atleast I'm pretty sure it is.

i have problems sleeping at night...i always imagine that somethings in my room or someones trying to break in and i feel really uncomfortable. also, when i blow dry my hair, sometimes i freak out because i think of someone on the news that went missing or was murdered and i feel like theyre standing right behind me haunting me..also at midnight, or late, when im walking down the hall, i always run just in case someone is follwing me...whats wrong with me and what should i do

I have no idea, but I've been going through the same thing. I share a room with my sister, and last night she was already asleep, I was the only one in the house awake, and I was downstairs. Well there is this really creepy painting that has always been in my room, even when I didn't share one (because it was given to me from a friend of my mom's who painted it) and anyways, no matter where you hang it, the 2 kids in it seem to always be staring. It creeps me out. But whenever I'm home alone, or eveybody is asleep, I get paranoid. It's so weird. I think it's natural, a lot of people go through it, so I hear. But if it's really bothering you, then talk to a school conciler, or a parent, or a therapist. I think there are some anxiety medications that you can take, but they have to be prescribed. I also feel like people are following me a lot. Whenever I go on a walk around the neighborhood, I have a CD player, and I'm so creeped out, that I have my student ID, and a pocket knife in my pocket, that way I can defend myself, and if I die, I'll have identification on me. But nobody would kill me in my neighborhood, and I know that because my dad is president of the board of association, and everybody knows me, it's just paranoia. So if it's really bothering you, talk to somebody.

Sorry, I know I kind of went off track telling you my 'story' but I just felt like proving to you that others feel that way, and what better proof is there than a story? Well, hope this helped some, and wasn't too confusing.

Sorry its so long.. but u need to hear the WHOLE situation to understand..

OK.. My coach and I used to get along really well. I play setter and I have for almost 4 seasons. Well.. im now on the high school JV team.. and theres another setter. OK fine. Well.. coach just GAVE her the position of starting (she didnt have to work for it). I asked him why.. and he said its because i dont work hard enough in practice. I argued with him about it for a few minutes and he just wouldnt listen to me. He said I need to work hard to earn my position. But in practice, I go out there and work my ass off. And this other chik just goofs off and stuff. None of our hitters like her.. and coach dont realize im the better setter (sounds conceided(sp?) but thats what all the hitters tell me)

I guess what im tryin to get at.. What can I do to prove to my coach that I really am workin my ass off out there to earn my spot in a game? And to prove that im the better setter on the team

Okay, sorry this won't be too helpful, because I don't know a lot about volleyball.
But ask him if you can go against her in setting. Like to see whos better (sorry if this doesn't make sense)
Does he seem like the type of guy that would put her because she's a pretty face, or big breasts or something? If so, then there isn't much you can do. DON'T argue. That's the last thing to do. You could get kicked off the team, or in dome type of trouble.
Tell him that you feel you aren't getting a fair chance. And if he says something like life isn't fair, then you're screwed, and he's not going to make it better. I know your giving it 100% out there, but try to give it 150% Try harder. I know that's probably not what you want to here, but I can't form what I want to say into words that you'll understand, so this is all I can give. I hope that I helped in some way. well, i know its strange, but sometimes i wonder if my parents were virgins before they got married. because they both married late in there lives )38 39ish) so i kind of wonder. is this strange to think? i mean im not going to go up to my mom one day and say hey mom how are ya doing? so btw were you a virgin before dad?

most likely they weren't virgins. I mean, back when they were growing up, like 60's and 70s (I'm guessing.) Well lets just say, have you ever seen Austin Powers? If not then never mind, but back in those days, people slept with anybody they could get their hands on. So most likely they weren't. Unless of course, you live somewhere, where that would be totally unacceptable.
I've wondered that about my father, a looooong time ago. I know my mother has, because she was with another man, and she had a child, before she was with my father. So it's normal to think that, atleast to a certain point.

My friend said that they can't tell your parents if you have unless you have a disease. but shes never had sex. depends where you go.
If you go to the health department, then it's totally confidential. But if you go to a doctor, then I'm pretty sure that they can tell a parent. Your best bet is to go to the health department.

im 18/m. I had a gay realtionship about a year ago, and it went on for about 6 months. Im now tired of guys and im with my girlfriend. I really should tell her that i was with this guy, she has no idea that i was. She even knows the guy. How can i tell her w/o her finding out who it was, and will she leave me if she finds out?

Okay, I wouldn't leave a guy just because he's bisexual, or because at one point he was gay. Tell her you have something important to tell her, and it'll be better if she finds out from you. She might think you're cheating or something, but when you break the news that you had a boyfriend, she'll be relieved, or atleast most girls would be. Tell her that a while back you had feelings for a guy that you both know, and that you were even together for 6months. And you want to be honest with her, and you think that she should know. She'll probably be curious, I know I would.
You don't want her to find out who it was. Then say that you don't really want her to know, and that you feel that you can't share that much.

If she really cares for you then she won't leave you. And if she does. then I'm sorry. But good luck telling her, and if you need any other help, let me know!

well, I see you have enough babysitting answers, so I'll tell you something others have told me. I've HEARD, not for sure, but heard this. If there is a hair place near you, they might pay you to sweep up hair, it's easy, and it probably pays anywhere from 3-7$$ an hour.

Their questions was smoking what. I'm kind of in the 'bad' crowd. A lot of my friends do pot and stuff. So they don't consider it a turn off.

So truly my answer is that it depends on the guy. If he smokes then it isn't, but if he doesn't then it could be.

ok.. my parents are getting divorced and i'm moving into a house in town. i've lived in the house i'm in for 10 years... is it normal for me to be feeling like this isn't real?? i feel like it's just a bad dream.. even though i know it's gonna happen

Yeah, I remember moving from NY, here to NC. It felt unbelievable. It was so odd to realize that you're going to be in a new house, that you will live near different people, and that you will have different friends.

Well, since you are sad, one day at school, or for a week at school or so, act like you feel, act sad, then they'll ask whats up, and tell them that you have to move.

It's going to be hard on you and them, and though you will want to keep in touch (depending on how far away you move) it's going to be hard. I'm still in touch with a few friends, but not many.

It's normal to feel that way, for the first month or so, I wanted to move back so badly, I behaved so weird.

My sister and I used to go to the same middle school. She's only a year older then me. She's a 9th grader and she was planning on going to the same HS (high school) as everyone else that went to my middle school. All of a sudden she changed her mind and went somewhere else. I really wanna go where she's going cuz its a better school but i have THE BEST friends ever right now and im not prepared to leave them and i dont want them to be mad, but i think this school would really help me do what i always wanted HELP ME!! WHT SHULD I DO?

the better school. I miss my friends from middle school, because our middle school got split up and we didn't have a choice. I'm in the newer better school with my sister. She's in the older not as good school with the rest of our friends.

If I had the choice to move schools, I wouldn't. I got great teachers, cool classes, and lots of new friends, also, very HOT guy friends!!

It's a hard transition to make, but after a while it's a good desicion. You can still hang with them at football games, and any sports event. You can hang with them after school and on weekends. The hardes part for me was my BFF's parents are split up, so every other weekend she goes to her dad's which is in SC, and we live in NC, so it's harded to see her. But trust me, the better school is a great desicion. Unless of course you don't want any of the teachers to know who you are through your sis, like mine do. But that could be a good thing too.
