Hey Everyone :) I'm Kate and a level 2 mod on here. I've had this account since July 2004, so I've been on here since I was 13! Wow ... crazy for me to think how long ago that was. I will admit I don't check in as often as I once did, but being away at college, being in a sorority, and having a job when I'm not at school is very time consuming. I still try to help out as much as possible, and if you send me a question I WILL answer it. It only uses ratings that are less than 30 days old. So that probaly has something to do with it. If you're seriously concerned, which you probably shouldn't be, then you can always ask advice_admin

There is this song by Sean (or Shawn or Shaun) Mconell (sp? i dont know how to spell his name...)and it goes like "when you look in the mirror do you like what you see" and i cant find the lyrics on the internet, can someone tell me if they have ever heard of this song or know the lyrics or where i can get his cd, because i looked at wal-mart and target but i could not find them..thanks!!!

I tried and tried. I'm pretty sure the last name is spelt Mconnell, but there is a guy named sean mconnell, shaun mconnell, AND shawn mconnell. So it's tough.

I hate life sometimes. I really wonder if i should just run away or kill myself. Why do i hate it so much, i'm only 12 and want to die. I don't cut and do shit like that but i'm so lost and dead. What should i do?

Suicide is a terrible idea. I saw a friend committ suicide, I was going there to stop her, once I found a note she left me, and I got there, right as she pulled the trigger. I came so close to helping her. You'll never really know how much people care for you, but they do. My friend that passed away, and I got into sill fights all the time, but when I saw her pull that trigger, I was crushed, I felt like it was my fault, and wanted to die so badly, but I got through it, and I'm here and alive, and loving every minute of it. Live life like you were going to die tomorrow. Enjoy lfe, embrace life, you only get one life, and ONE CHANCE!
If you're really that bad, talk to somebody, a parent, friend, teacher, councilor, anybody you feel can help!!

And if you go to control H, it'll bring up your history. Like hold down control, and press H. Then you can bring up all the sites, and right click, then hit delete. But what tinkerbell said was MUCH MUCH MUCH FASTER. I just didn't want to repeat.

if you mean for your column, then you go to an icon that you like, and you save it under pictures. Then when uploading a picture, you can upload the icon instead. If you mean something else, then I don't know what you mean, and sorry for wasting your time.

no, because once it breaks, it can't break again. How can you break something that has already been broken? Unless of course it somehow grows back. I don't belive that it can grow back, but I've heard that it can. That I guess it up to you to figure out.

I have, and still do cut. I'm trying to get help right now. I've finally gotten up the courage to talk to one of my teachers, and she's trying to help me. The best solution to almost any problem is to talk with somebody. A councilor, a teacher, a parent, a friend. The way I tried controlling it, was I'd only cut my legs, and I'd use a razor, so I tried to get veet hair removal gel, but that ended up being to complicated, and I almost poisneted myself, by purposely leaving it on too long. What you have to do, is if you're too embarrassed to actually go up to a teacher, think of one that you think could help you best, and then e-mail them. Thats what I did with my favorite teacher, I e-mailed her, then I finally came clean and told her it was me that sent the e-mail. It's hard to do, but it's the best way to get help. Did you say your brother has ADHD? It's just...we just found out my sister has it and it's really hard to deal with, she gets alot of attention from my parents and it causes a lot of problems because she has it quite severly. Do you have any advice to how I could deal with it?

Yeah, thats how my parent are with my bro, and my grandparents, they give all the attention to him.
Ask then for like a bit of family time or something, like a half hour at night to discuss your day, and talk about stuff. Or to have Sundays after church(if you go to church) to talk about whats on your mind. It's a hard thing to deal with, I mean, I guess it's harder for the person with ADHD, but it's still difficult for us to, since it's effecting our lives too. Usually me and my sister, if it's just us with our mom, we'll talk about stuff thats on our minds. Really, the best way to handle stuff is by talking. Find a friend or parent, or even another sibling that you can talk to about it. My brother has it so severly that even if he's taking the medicine, he can still act like an immature thing. Tell your parents that you feel your sister is getting all the attention. And this is what you could say if your older than her, and like around 14-16
Mom, I'm starting to get more and more into guys, and if you give all your attention to me, there's no saying what could happen with me. If you love us both, you'll split the attention. I know that she needs more attention than before, but I'm your daughter too, and it might not seem like I ever want you around, but sometimes I guess I like you. Okay, school is really stressful, DUH!! But this year I've decided no more bad grades for me and I'm starting off fresh this year. I'm going to get good grades, thats my goal. But I don't have the energy or excitement or whatever you want to call it to do my homework and sometimes even school work. I'm very organized. I just want to get good grades. Any ideas? I'm graduating in like almost 2 years. I want to make it the best.

Okay, you need a fixed schedule.
You get home, have a healthy snack. You do homework for one subject, when you're done, take a 15-20 minute break from the rest of your homework, and get some fresh air. Do homework from another subject, when finished with that subjects homework, then take another break, and so on.
If you have more than one assignment for a certain subject, like definitions, and answering questions, do one part of it, take a 10 minute break, and do the other part of it.
If I have homework that I don't find interesting, I play music in the background to soothe my soul, and get me in the mood (sounds a bit wrong the way I put it, so sorry.) I'm able to multi task, you might not be, so the music could be a distraction.
Just make yourself a schedule, and don't eat dinner until your homework is done, because then you could always go to bed before finishing it.
And I know in high school they don't give you agendas or anything to write your homework down in, so but a little notebook or something, and make sure to write down all your assignments. Try to make it as fun as possible. If you don't understand something, then try to 'act it out' and make it realistic.

Bring a purse, and put your moms mum in it (mum? whats that?) And if he doesn't get you one, then a bit into the dance, put on your mum, but don't make it obvious, and if he brings you one, just leave your moms mum in the purse. Sorry if this isn't any help, I don't know nor have I ever heard of a mum

deoderized pads. If you use tampons, then I'm not sure. Some of the deoderized pads can be bad for you, so I guess you should talk to your mom or doctor, but deoderized pads are the only way I can think of to hide the smell.

Ok im aditioning for a school play and everytime a start to say my lines infront of my teacher i get so nervouse, shaky, and i just freeze and/or forget my lines. Can someone please tell me some ways how to calm myself and someways to remember my lines better? thankyou all very much, i rate good!

Practice the lines in front of a mirror.
Just concentrate on the character, pretend that there is nobody else around. Picture the audience in their underwear. Uhhhh, when reading the lines, read them how you would actually say them in that situation. Just try to realize, nobody is judging, they're just trying to pick the best, out of the greatest.

My brother has it. It just means that they need medication to control temper, and that it's hard for them to pay attention to things. Almost everybody in the world has like atleast 1% of it, but truly thats not technically ADHD.

well im not sure if i can say i like him.. but i have feelings. First talk to his friend and see if he likes you, or if he might. Then if his friend says yes, ride your friends bus home, and sit behind him, accidentally bumping into him, and then after you sit down, say sorry. Then flirt a bit. Like twirl your hair, and smile with a twinkle in your eye. Then ride the bus home with your friend a few more times, do the same thing, except just flirt, because by now you should be aquainted. Then after about a week, if he doesn't ask you out, say you heard that he likes you, and wanted to know if it's true, and you wouldn't mind either way. And if he says yea, he kind of does, ask him out, remeber, there is NO shame in asking out a guy :-) Hope I helped!!

My parents are over protective of me. I told my parents that my brother whose 15 wanted to get a job and they said that their just not ready for him to get a job yet. How do i get them to see that both me and my brother are resposible enough to get a job?

If they say no, then say it's important, if they say yes, then here goes...

Mom, dad, I feel that you are a bit too protective, and that you feel we're not mature enough to do certain things. I would really like it if you give me and ________(insert older brother's name) a chance to prove to you that we are old enough to do these things, even if it starts out a small amount at a time. I know you love us, and want whats best, but did grandma and grandpa ever treat you this way. If you don't let us into the world to explore, then we won't be prepared when it's time for us to move out, I know you might not like what I have to say, but it's time you start to give us a chance to get out there, get a job, learn to drive, go shopping without an adult, and explore the world.

It's normal for your age. Don't worry, you're self-esteem will soon boost, you're growing, and it could be hormones, or anything else, just rember you DO NOT need a relationship to help boost that self esteem, it isn't the best thing in the world, and at your age, it'll only lead to heart break... trust me.
