My parents are over protective of me. I told my parents that my brother whose 15 wanted to get a job and they said that their just not ready for him to get a job yet. How do i get them to see that both me and my brother are resposible enough to get a job?

Okay, this is what I'd do, so sorry if you don't like my answer, if you truly aren't really amazed at what I have to say (I've never really been in that position, then ask it to the whole site)

I'd ask them if they'd sit down so we can talk.
If they say no, then say it's important, if they say yes, then here goes...

Mom, dad, I feel that you are a bit too protective, and that you feel we're not mature enough to do certain things. I would really like it if you give me and ________(insert older brother's name) a chance to prove to you that we are old enough to do these things, even if it starts out a small amount at a time. I know you love us, and want whats best, but did grandma and grandpa ever treat you this way. If you don't let us into the world to explore, then we won't be prepared when it's time for us to move out, I know you might not like what I have to say, but it's time you start to give us a chance to get out there, get a job, learn to drive, go shopping without an adult, and explore the world.

Sorry, I reread it, and it sounds a tad korny, but thats really all I can think of.
