Can someone tell me what gas law equation I'd use for any type of gas law problem? (ex. if the pressure and temperature is given, you'd use _____ law.)

ex. Boyle's law, Charles' law, ideal gas law, etc.

Boyle's law is for Pressure and Volume

P1V1=P2V2 (pretend the numbers are subscripts)

Charles' law uses Volume and Temperature.

V1 over T1 = V2 over T2

Combined Gas Law uses pressure, volume, and temperature.

P1V1 over T1 = P2V2 over T2

Avogadro's Law uses Volume and the Number of Moles

V1 over n1 = V2 over n2

The Ideal Gas law uses:

Pressure, Volume, Number of moles, The Gas Constant*, and the temperature.

The Gas Constant is .08206. The Label for this is L x atms over Mol x K.

The equation is PV=nRT.

Remember, temperature should always be in Kelvin (k).

Good Luck =)

Does anybody know where I can find some pretty updo's for hair (prom) I don't want you to say to just go to google.com and type it in. I want to know some sites that are known to be actual good sites with PRETTY hair styles

Please, Thanks, and I'll rate great.

http://photobucket.com/images/prom%20hair/

I just go to photobucket and search things such as "Prom Hair" like I did above, or "Updo". Any variation of that will bring up many results.

I think photobucket has more variety than any hairstyle site I've seen.

Good Luck =)

I would like to put hot pink streaks in my hair. Not streaks as in highlights, but at the bottoms, kinda like Avril Lavigne's new look.
But I don't have blonde hair. What brand of temporary hair color works best on dark hair? What product should I get?
Is there a product that isn't completely temporary, but comes out after a while? Not right away?
help

My friend uses Manic Panic and loves it. It shows up well on her hair, however her hair is pretty light.

No matter how good of hair dye you get, you need light hair for it to show up. It may show up a little on dark hair, but it won't be bright. It will be pretty dull. Maybe dye the area blonde at first using an at home kit. Then you definitely won't have to worry about it showing up.

ok so i just bought a new hair straightner it cost $30.00 at the mall. my mom doesnt let me use it becase she thinks that we need some kind of spray? she says that if we dont use the spray then the hair straightner would damage my hair is this true? anybody has had a hairstraightner and used it before and nothing bad happened to their hair. i want to use it but im scared if i do need a spray or something like that to put in before using it whats it called? thanks!

If you use a straightener often, or you hold your straightener on your hair too long, or it is too hot, your hair can become extremely heat damaged.

I believe the spray your mom is talking about is a thermal protectant. I didn't used to use one, until my hairdresser told me this: "If you only use one product for the rest of your life, use a heat protectant". It's that important. Now, if you use your straightener a little bit, chances are nothing will happen. But my advice is to get heat protecting spray as soon as possible.

http://www.folica.com/Sedu_Moisturizi_d2966.html?f_intpmo=031907seduprotec

There is one type of spray. There are many other brands out there, lots are on folica.com.

Good Luck =)

can someone explain to me like, the difference between the imperfect and the preterite tense? and give examples of ar, er and ir verbs. i'm just really confused & google isn't helping. i can't ask my teacher anyway + she's totally weird and would probably confuse me even more. thanks :)

Preterite is something in the past that had a definite beginning and end.

Such as- She went with me yesterday (Ella fue conmigo ayer)

Preterite endings-

ar-
Yo- e (with accent)
Tu- aste
El/ella/tu formal- o (with accent)
Nosotros- amos
Ellos/Ellas/Ustedes- aron

er and ir (they're the same)-
Yo- i (with accent)
Tu- iste
El/ella/tu formal- io (accent over o)
Nosotros- imos
Ellos/ellas/ustedes- ieron

examples of verbs in pret. tense:

You talked= Habaste

There are some irregular verbs for pret. tense as well.

Ir/Ser = (Fui, Fuiste, Fue, Fuimos, Fueron)

Imperfect tense is something that was in the past that has no definite beginning or end. Something in general.

Such as=

I used to swim in the summers (Nadaba en los veranos)

or

You used to read Babar books? (Leias los libros de babar?)

Endings for imperfect tense

AR-
Yo- aba
Tu- abas
El/ella/tu formal- aba
Nosotros- abamos
Ellos/ellas/ustedes- aban

er/ir (always an accent over I in all of them)
Yo- ia
Tu- ias
El/ella/tu formal- ia
Nosotros- iamos
Ellos/ellas/ustedes- ian

Other examples:

You used to live on my street (vivian en mi calle)

I hope I answered you question. This all came from my spanish teacher, and not from some website, so it should be reliable.

Good luck.

ok so on friday my friends and i want to get a little buzzed before going to a dance. we are each going to drink one bear. then my mom is going to drive us to the dance. is she going to be able to tell that we were drinking? (by the way we look, smell, or acting?) please don't say I am too young. and any other tips on this please share!

First off. Stupid move. Seriously. Make sure you think about the possible outcomes. Your mom could catch you, the adults at the dance could catch you. Then you'd be in serious trouble. Also, drinking for the first time before a dance isn't a good idea. At least if you are experienced, you know what reactions you have to alcohol, and how much you can handle.

Now. One *Beer* really isn't that much alcohol. Different people can handle different amounts, but still, that's not too much. It might not affect you. But, if all goes according to plan, and you get just a little buzzed, you should still be pretty much in control of yourself. However, your balance and speech could be affected. It all depends on the person (this is why doing it for the first time isn't a good idea now). So, it's a good possibility that your mom will know. Especially since you will be nervous and acting weird. Mothers always know.

And besides, it won't be that much fun to go buzzed anyways. Sure it might be fun for a little while, but you will quickly come off of your buzz. Not only will you be tired, but you'll probably feel like shit.

Seriously, this isn't a good idea. Just make sure you think about what you are getting into before you do it.

Good luck.

So i'm the kind of girl when i was younger fell for older guys and everything they said..and i learned the hard way with those expierences. One of my boyfriends went to prison and so when we broke up it was really easy for me to get over that..because i never got to talk to him, see him, anything! so it was really simple for me. But when i was just a jr i started liking a sophmore, i took things nice and slow with him cause i had learned from past that would be probably be better. We got together a couple weeks after hanging out and dating. We had our ups and downs we weren't to serious at the beginning. As summer came we got really serious. We hung out every day we loved eachother so much, we did everything together went golfing bowling boating swimming typical things couples do when in love. and 8 months into our relationship we had sex. it was perfect. He didn't take my virginity but i took his. But i made sure it was what he wanted before we did anything. After that we were even more closer and even more in love..it seemed to perfect but it was reality so it was even better. we kept having sex for about 2 months then decided to stop cause he wanted to become clean so he could go on a mission..LDS thing. it lasted for a month. then we kept having sex after. everything was great. but then sex became everything to him not so much me. He was also very into smoking weed. It became an everyday thing to him he would ditch me for it..I cared that he did but I let him do it every once in awhile..but he lied about it a lot and then he broke up with me a month and a half ago. I was the one who had the harder time with it. he is fine..moved on likes another girl. but i can't get my mind off of him.. whY? why is it that i was his first love..but he can forget about me so easily? But i have the harder time..?

Sorry so long. but its hard to sum up a relationship of over a year!
--thanks:]

You know, it could be a lot of different things. If he is really over you, maybe he had been thinking about breaking up with you for a long time, and is already used to the idea. Maybe he got tired of having to hide his drug use and lie about it, or maybe he felt like you were controlling him about it (don't worry, you did no wrong there). If that happened, then it probably bothered him until he couldn't take it anymore, so it had been on his mind for awhile. Another possibility is that he's not truly over you. Maybe he knows you hate the drug use, but can't quit. Or he doesn't want to be in such a serious relationship anymore. He is young and now is the time for him to date around, because later in life is when he is going to need to be serious. Maybe he couldn't stand the thought of being 'married' when he was a teenager. Maybe he's change so much as a person, that he doesn't feel the same spark that there used to be. Or maybe its the opposite. Everything has become a routine and comfortable, it just got old.

See, there are a million different possibilities here. However, you should worry about yourself rather than him. I know its difficult, I do. Easier said than done. But, you really need to think positively about this. Yeah, getting dumped sucks, but you have to move on sometime, and better sooner than later. Now you are free to go out with your girlfriends whenever you want. Flirt with whoever you want, dance with whoever you want. You don't always have to be thinking about what he would say or what he's doing. Being single is a lot less stressful than being in such a relationship at your age. No one says you have to wake up tomorrow and be completely over him. That's unrealistic. But you need to get in the mindset that things are going to be just fine. Don't sit and wallow for too long. Get up and go out on the weekends. Meet new people. Only then will you be able to reintroduce yourself as just you rather than "so-and-so's girlfriend".

I'm here if you need anything else =)

Good luck!

what was the best book you have ever read when you were 13? or best book in general... that a 13 year old could read and comprehend? i feel like i've read all the good books. i've always loved reading since i was little.. im not like a geek/nerd or anything, some are just really good. uh.. my favorite kind of books are ones that are about kids like around my age.. doesnt matter the gender, going through life and etc, and... just like are good page turners. i dont care how long it is.. just not like 300 pages please! here are some of the books im already interested in and have read (uh.. i forget alot of others though lol)

- Shug by Jenny Han
- Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
- The Clique by Lisi Harrison
- How to be popular by Meg Cabot
- Avalon High by Meg Cabot
- Princess Diaries series by Meg Cabot
- Hoot (the novel)
- harry potter series
- a wrinkle in time
- any book by roald dahl
- junie b. jones - barbara park (haha i love these)
- any babysitter's club book
etc.

and please dont say like gossip girl, the it girl, a series of unfortunate events, and the chronicles of narnia.

THANKS!

PS: why do so many kids of today hate reading so much, anyway?

Personally, I LOVE anything by Sarah Dessen. If you've seen How To Deal, that movie was based on 2 books written by her (not her best though). My 2 favorites were This Lullaby and The Truth About Forever. Both were about romance, but also about a girl finding herself. Both were very, very good.

When I was thirteen, I read my favorite book, To Kill A Mockingbird, for the first time. Now, its more of something that you'd read in literature class, however its such a good story. Its interesting, and something you can truly learn from at the same time. I loved it when I was 13, so you might too.

The Kidnapping of Christina Lattimore by Joan Lowery Nixon. I really enjoyed that book. It's a mystery.

Go Ask Alice. Its a journal of a young girl and is about her experience with drug use.

And the most recent one I've read was My Sister's Keeper. It's about a girl your age that has a sister with cancer. She files for legal medical emancipation from her parents and its all about her families journey. This one is a tear jerker...

Good Luck, and Keep reading!

Why do people answer questions on here when they really don't know the answer? I just asked this -

http://www.advicenators.com/qview.php?q=487010

And got two completely wrong answers. There ARE purses of her, EVERYWHERE in Hollywood stores, in Pac Sun, Hot Topic, Wild About Music, Hobby Lobby, Target.. so why the hell would they say they don't make purses of her anymore because she's DEAD? I'm offended.

A lot of people answer questions simply hoping they will be rated well. Even when they don't know the answer. It sucks, but all you can do is rate them low.

Also, when you have a complaint like this, file an abuse report. It helps the site out a lot.

You're not a virgin. It doesn't matter how much he 'sticks in'. Yes, there is a possibility of getting pregnant. Have him wear a condom or start taking birth control before you do it again. Better yet, do both.

hey my hair isnt that bad. it used to be but its gettin better. but whenever i take a shower like rite after i do and it dries it gits realllllllllly frizzy. like for most people whenever they wash their hair it gets nice and soft and everything but mine gets worse then before i wash it. what should i do

That's understandable that it is more manageable before you wash it because day-old hair has more natural oils in it, and usually is more cooperative than freshly washed hair. That is why they advise you to wash your hair the day before you go get an updo for prom(or whatever).

Now, to battle the frizz, there are a number of products you can use. I used to use Frizz-Ease hair serum, but now I use Chi Silk Infusion. I like Chi better, however, it costs a lot more, and can only be found in salons, where Frizz-Ease is fairly inexpensive and can be purchased at Walmart.

Talk to your stylist about what options you have.

If I were you, I would wash my hair at night (rather than in the morning before school). There are anti-frizz shampoos out there. After you get out of the shower, apply an anti-frizz product such as serum. Then, blow dry it on cool or warm(not hot) using a round brush. That should help eliminate a lot of your frizz. Then, if you straighten your hair, do it the next morning, or at least a little later.

Here is a whole bunch of anti-frizz products.

Hey. Well, I'm 13/f and I go to middle school, 7th grade. I know, please believe me, that labels are the stupidest thing on the Earth, but I have to use them just for this particular question.
Okay, well, I used to be 'prep' but now I find myself likeing things the 'emo's' were and at my dad's house, in his neighborhood, I hang out with the 'emo' people. I really like all the things they do, like, the eye makeup, the styles[kind of], and stuff like that.
Problem is, if I just, one day 'become' 'emo' then everyone will call me a poser. What do I do?

And, I have blonde hair and blue eyes, and I love cheerleading. I know, that's kind of 'preppy' but I like being 'emo' more than being 'prep'.

You don't have to choose one or the other! When you go shopping for clothes, don't think "Does this look emo?" or "Is this preppy?". Just think "Do I like this?". Don't pretend to like music you don't like. You can listen to Chiodos AND Justin Timberlake if that's what you want to do. You can wear your band tee WITH your american eagle jeans. You can go to local rock concerts AND still do cheerleading. You can have preppy friends AND emo friends. There IS a happy medium. Please, take my advice and don't commit to just one label. People will admire you more for your confidence then they will for how emo or preppy you are. Trust me, I know from personal experience. You will stand out for all the right reasons.

Now, if you still want to be only 'emo', I would just make the trasition slowly. Baby steps. Start doing your make up differently at first. Then wear an emo shirt or a band tee. Then throw in the emo accessories. Slowly work your way up to where you want to be. That way it won't seem like you changed over night, and people will accept it more.

Good luck =)

One more thing... Since you have blonde hair, PLEASE don't dye your hair black. It will (more than likely) look really unnatural.

My grade will be testing ALL week and we can't bring a backpack to school. I'm going to get my period soon but i'm not sure what day. Ware could I keep a pad ware it won't be noticable since I can't bring a backpack? I don't want to waiste them on days I wont have my period.

Bring a purse or a tote bag and keep it in there. If they won't let you have those, you could explain why you need one. If you don't want to do that, wear a hoodie or a jacket and stick it in the pocket, that way the pocket will be big and no one will notice.

Hi Lea! There is this boy..and i keep falling for him. We have gone out twice, and this is our third time. We know basically everything about eachother, and so now we have run out of things to talk about. He isnt in any of my classes with me, but he does have the same teachers. He likes punkish rock music, and i like the top 40s, whatevers on Kiis fm. We dont have a lot in common, actually we are like oposites. I love that about us but what do i talk to him about? Usaully he needs to keep up the conversation but even he is running out of things. Also, he always greets me with "heyy baby" and i just answer "hey" how do i answer to that? Thank you so so much!!

Since you know each other so well, you should have plenty to talk about! Tell him about your day. Better yet, ask him about his. Tell him about that math test you are worried about, or about that new movie you want to see. Ask him about school, family, life in general. Ask him to tell you about his music or to make some band suggestions for you. Are either of you into sports? Ask him for advice on a situation that's bothering you. Just talk to him like you would a best friend. Don't be scared to go into detail when talking about things. Say more than Yes and No. If all else fails, play the question game. He asks you a question, you answer. Then it's your turn.

As for answering to "Hey Baby", you could answer back with another pet name like "Hey, Love" or "Hey Handsome". If you don't want to do that, just hey will do just fine

Good Luck =)

i'm looking for some new bands, any good ones?
i listen to bands like sublime, slightly stoopid, bob marley, jack johnson, matisyahu, ub40, 311.

Usually I am very good with sleeping and I can get to sleep within maybe 15 minutes and not wake up or have problems sleeping during the night. But lately I haven't been able to sleep at night, it's been really difficult for me to fall asleep initially. I thought maybe it was because a lot of stuff was coming up so I was stressed but it's really not more than usual. If it keeps being a problem should I look for some like sleeping pill or something?

It could be something other than stress. Did you recently change your routine? Are you watching TV or using the computer right before bedtime? Are you doing any heavy thinking (even homework) right before bedtime? Are you going to bed at different times each night? Are you taking any new medication? Do you drink caffeine in the evening/night?

Yes to any of these could be your answer.

Make sure to avoid caffeine for 4-8 hours before bedtime (find which time is right for you).

Don't watch TV or use the computer during the hour before you go to bed. Instead, relax by taking a bath, reading, or listening to music.

Try drinking warm milk or eating a small amount of turkey before you go to bed.

Exercise regularly, but not in the 2 hours before going to bed.

NOW. Medication should be a last resort. I went to my doctor because I too have this problem. After figuring out that the above couldn't help me, he told me to take one benadryl before bed. For the most part it works, but you have to allow yourself enought time to sleep off the effects (at least 8 hours) or you will have a 'hangover' the next day (meaning you will still be reaaaaally tired). If this doesn't work, ask your doctor for advice. He or she will know what pill is best for you.

Good luck =)

my boyfriend has kissed so many girls (and boys) that its just ridiculous. i have never been kissed. the thought of kissing him makes me really nervous. i'm not asking for kissing advice. but when we do have our first kiss, how bad am i going to be? lol. i mean is he going to be really turned off by me being inexperienced? share your stories, plz, i am nervous. :(

It's totally normal to feel nervous like you do. I felt that way before my first kiss. But trust me when I say you have nothing to worry about. Just let things happen and everything will come naturally. Don't sit there and worry about it when it happens, because you don't want to think about it. If you just go with it, your instinct will take over and everything will be fine.

Good Luck =)

Hi all, this is yg. I consider this a question, I am also kind of looking for opinions. I am asking here instead of the mod forum because I'd like answers from those who are mods, and those who may not be yet. There is no right or wrong answer, so please, honest opinions only.

In the last month and a half this question, or a version of this question has come up and it bothers me. 'How can I hide that I have been on advicenators?' I assume it was meant from parents.

I would like to know if others have this problem.

Do you have to hide that you use the site?
If so why?

What do you think would make it acceptable to your parents?

Would you be embarrassed for your parents to see the site?

If so is it because of questions asked?
Questions you've asked? Or just the questions in general?

Answers given?
YOUR answers given, or just everyones answers?

Has anyone, besides myself, (who talked to both my kids about it), Talked to their parents about BECOMING an advicenator?

I think it is a great way to initiate conversation
about topics you may be embarrassed to discuss with a parent about yourself. I wonder if anyone has done that?

I think I have plagued you with enough questions for now. Thank you! :)yg

Hey YG!

I visit advicenators on both my personal computer in my bedroom and my family computer in the family room. I do not hide it on either one.

I would not be embarassed for my parents to see the site. I wouldn't particularly want them to see most of my questions and answers though, because I am a private person. It's not that I think they would disapprove, its just that I would feel invaded.

However, I have showed my mother the site before. Just briefly, she thought the whole idea was cool. So no worries I suppose.

I think the site does an excellent job of staying appropriate and professional. No worries there =)

I VALUE YOUR OPINION: Lucy was sitting at the dining room table with her cousin Patsy. Patsy turned to Lucy and said: Lucy you are a size in 8 in clothes; Lucy said; Yes I am, why; Patsy replied; I THOUGHT YOU ARE a size 8. I am cleaning out my bedroom closet, however, I couldnt remember if you told me you are a size 8 or 10.; The next day Lucy told her friends what her cousin said and asked; do you think my cousin thinks I am higher than a size 8; All her friends said to her; Lucy no your cousin does not think you are a higher than a size 8; MY QUESTION: Do you agree with Lucys friends?

Yes. Sounds like Patsy didn't mean to offend Lucy, she just simply couldn't remember which size Lucy was. It's not that big of a difference, so Lucy's feelings shouldn't be hurt over the question.
