A few thoughts I've gathered from my teenage years (and being on this site for most of them!):
1. If you Google song lyrics, the song will come up 99% of the time.
2. Dress to fit your body type, and buy the size that fits. If you're a size 6, squeezing into a 4 won't make you look skinnier. It makes you look fat when you aren't.
3. You will never regret waiting to lose your virginity.
4. There is such a thing as a stupid question, but we're all allowed to ask them.

both me and my brother have the exact same ipod, we even bought it the same day from the same place - here's the thing though, his has a search engine so he can easier find songs, and my doesnt! Now I have 4662 songs on my ipod, so its really hard to find the song im looking for - takes ATLEAST 30 minutes! Spo I was wondering, can you download the search engine onto you ripod somehow? Or is it a setting on iTunes you need to fix? Or what? Cause on the actualy ipod are settings are the same (or so i think)

Also he has this thing where if he "flips" really quickly letter well come up like in a gray box so you can find the letter you're looking for faster, mine doesn't have that EITHER!

please help me :( i spent a long time saving for this iPOd and it tunred out to be a total let down..

Try updating the software. It's a newer feature so yours may have never downloaded the search part.

Hey i am a 13/f and i have a an ex boyfriend that i at least thought was a sweet guy untill he dumped me for no reason i mean we have never ever been in a fight and so tuesday i txted him and said " i LOVE you baby sooo much!!!" then he txts me back and says your a bitch and ur ugly we are over!! so i started to cry but all his friends say he still like's me and i still like him so what i wanna know is how can i make him jelous

Well, you could try, oh I dunno, TALKING to him? It might not have been him who texted you. How long had you been dating? You may have scared him by saying "I love you" so soon.


Talk to him and get the whole story from him before you do anything drastic :)

You don't have to tell him anything. As long as you're not cheating on him, there's nothing wrong with thinking someone else is cute (I'm assuming that's what you mean by liking his bestfriend)

stupid question but i had a bf and he gave me this singing toy for valentines day.

i dumped him, and now i hate him and i never see him anymore (he moved). well whenever i look at the toy it reminds me of him. i really wanna get rid of it, but i dont wanna throw it away cause he spent his money on it, and i cant give it back to him cause i lost contact with him, and i cant give it to any of my friends cause i told them what he got me.

oh ya and i am not going to be in any relationship soon so i will not give it to my future bf. (anyways its ugly as hell and i hated it when i got it)

Either donate it -as long as it's not so ugly it'll give kids nightmares- or dress it in a little suit & a dunce hat. And set it on fire. (Outside, and away from flammable objects, of course)

what can i do so i can be skinny? i mean FLAT [sexy] stomach not big and has a lot of fat. i mean, im skinny but the only thing i have a problem with is my mid-section. my stomach. i want it flat .. soon. ive been dreaming about a flat stomach, [sexy skinny body] since i was 9.. and im always on a diet butt how long do i have to wait.. it never works because one morning, my stomach is "not that big" and then i eat breakfast.. its all big again... how can i keep up with it!? any advice to what to do and not starve yourself and still have a flat stomach from NOT to present?

Flat Stomach:
- Eat a balanced diet. Cut out as much soda and junk and refined sugar as possible. Do crunches- as many as you're comfortable doing. I can do 200 in a day, but I worked up to that starting at about 25.


Skinny Legs:
- Same eating plan as before- a little of everything to keep your body healthy and running smoothly. Drink plenty of water. Run a mile or two most days of the week- or walk. Also, do Pilates to "tone up" and yoga to streeeeetch.


Good luck, and remember that you won't see results two seconds after you run that first day!

k, well i kinda guess i need someone whos already been in middle school to answer this..

when you were in middle school, were all the major slutty kids the most popular? like girl wise? & does that mostly change in highschool? because, i mean some of them are my friends & are actually cool, but some are just annoying & guys tottaly use them. but like, i once joined into that, & then for the most part regretted it. but like you always will here these stories about who made out with who & who did what. & then i dont know it makes me feel out of the group. but like i dont know..

There's always gonna be slutty girls. Be yourself; don't dress like a prostitute for attention. Junior high and highschool, you'll learn pretty quickly who your real friends are and who's a backstabbing two-faced liar.


It gets better, I suppose. Because the abovementioned slutty, two-faced backstabbers tend to associate only with their own kind, and will pretty much leave everyone else alone. As long as you don't like, insult Abercrombie in front of them or get in their face, you'll be totally fine =]


I'm only in my freshman year- but middle school (and highschool, as far as I can tell, so far) is an incredible time of your life and you'll learn so much more than calculus and the rate of the Earth's gravitational force.


All in all, it's great. Enjoy yourself and don't think about the popular crowd- they're popular for the wrong reasons, anyways.

alright a couple days ago my friend came with me and my mom said she can live with us because she has no home and her dad abuses her and kicked her out
well she was living with her friend and she didn't want to live there anymore because they were about to kick her out anyways so she came over my house to live with me and her dad called the cops and reported her as a runaway
the cops tracked me down with my phone and they took her to westcare which is like a child haven and they said if her dad doesn't want her then they'll call my mom to come get her and have her dad sign the papers so she can be the foster parent of her.
shes like my best friend and they still havent' called
she told me that she hates it there and shes miserable and she wants me to come get her today
I don't know if they'll give her over to my mom so I have to go there today with her to go get my friend I really have to.
help please.

I don't think many of us will be able to help you. The place she's at now will have more information available for you.


If her dad's abusive (and it can be proven) she'll be put in the custody of someone else- probably your mom, like they mentioned.


In the meantime, visit her as much as possible. Knowing someone cares about her will mean a lot right now.

Claire's makes magnetic earrings. They're really cool. Also, a lot of clip-on styles, espeically those with long, dangly accents, look like the real thing.


Fake lip or nose ring you can probably find anywhere like Hot Topic or Piercing Pagoda. My friend has one; she got hers at Hot Topic.

Well I have a great bf, and I love him a ton. My best friend keeps saying that I never talk to him, and she says I know nothing about him. I talk to him on the phone every night, and in school we sit next to eachother. So today walking out of a class my best friend is like ask him how he did on the test, cuz u guys never talk. And I told her that I didn't need her help talking to my bf!! And she should stay out of it. She kind of got annoyed but we both let it go. But she keeps doing it!!! She says she talks to him more than I do. I guess they talk a lot too. But I talked to my bf about it and he was like well yah me and her do kind of talk more, but I talk to you enough. And then he said I guess me and her talk more because I don't have to worry about what to say when I am talking to her. And I Dont know what he meant by that!!! Do you guys think that I was being too harsh on my best friend?? And what did my bf mean by what he said!???

I don't think your best friend meant to make either of you angry. She's probably worried that an otherwise great relationship could fail because she doesn't SEE you talking to each other. Don't be too hard on her. Apologize for overreacting (even if you think you didn't). At the same time mention that your relationship is FINE, but you love having her around and knowing she's there. That's what best friends are for, right?

people say the virgin coconut oil is good for your hair
well what does it do to it?
and also how do you use it?
after shampoo?

Hmm. I've always used olive oil, because it's what my mom buys :D Coconut oil works too though. I always apply it on DRY hair, before I take a shower. Heat it in the microwave for about 30 seconds, and apply it to your hair starting at the ends. Work it up either CLOSE to your roots (if your hair's oily) or to your roots (if it's dry).


It helps if you clip your hair up. Leave it in for about a half-hour. If your short on time, its okay to shorten the time though. Wash it out with shampoo. Wash it twice for good measure. Use either a clarifying shampoo (buy the Suave one because it's really cheap) or a lot of regular shampoo that's see-through ish (like, not super creamy). Follow with conditioner, like usual, because it'll help seal in moisture. Plus, you just washed your hair twice.


I do this two or three times a month, because I don't have the time. And I forget to sometimes. It'll make your hair shiny and soft and strong and basically every desireable adjective that describes hair :)

I usually lift my roots by blowdrying my hair little sections at a time. Pull small, dried sections UP with a brush and spritz the roots with hairspray. Also, when I'm almost done styling, I flip my head upsidedown, shake my hair around for awhile, and spray the roots with some more hairspray or root lifter.


My fave hairspray ever is Aussie Hi-Hold&Hi-Shine. It's only $3 at WalMart. My other fave is $17... Bed Head something or other, it's a green can. Really pricey though =/


Root lifter I've only used used a few times, but I imagine it works better than hairspray- if your hair's especially limp. Matrix and Aussie both make them. Matrix will set me back a few week's allowance; Aussie you'll get at WalMart with the change you can find under the sofa.

My little sister keeps on bugging me about some ideas to paint her room. her room is going to be tropical themed, please give me an idea/ideas so she will quit bugging me! thanks

Paint her room a bright turquoise blue.
That way, when she gets sick of the blow-up pine trees and starfishes next week, you'll just have to redecorate instead of repainting as well.


Blue walls work for everything, and are harder to outgrow than, say, Barbie-Dreamhouse Pink.

& I usually use it for stir-fry ;D And on my hair, of course!


Specifially, I use "Extra Virgin Olive Oil" it's probably what you have anyways, since it's what's usually used for cooking. It's supposedly a "better" grade of oil, like Grade-A Syrup is better than Grade-B.

what do i do to become a singer?

Sing a lot. Get really good. Then you could find a local talent agency and get discovered. I really don't know the specifics, but I bet if you did a lot of little things (like lead vocals of a local band) and you have what it takes, someone will discover you.


Yeah, sometimes you do have to pay.
I dunno where you're from. But there's agencies in a lot of major cities. Make sure you sign up with someone legit (ask salespeople at a store like DEBs for the name of a good one) and you'd be off to a good start.

hey ummmmmi dyed my hair light brown a month ago and it turned out not light enough. how do i do it? how do i know which color in the box i should get? i mean, heres my point, like if i currently have dark brwn hair and i see the color of the hair i want [light brown hair] in the box shud i get it or you have to check something or go lighter than that because my hair`s dark? im srry its confusing but i hope you see where im going... =[[

Get something lighter than you want. On the side of the box, there's a shade guide. It'll say if our natural haircolor is this, your result will be this. Go by that, not the front of the box.


If you've tried a few different dyes and brands (I recommend Garnier Nutriesse and 100% Color, from personal experience) and yu're still not getting the results you want, go to a salon to get it done. A single, all-over color should be relatively inexpensive. I recommend finding a vocational school or something of the sort in your area, if you can. My school's salon only charges $20 for permanent haircolor.


Another trick (which may be slightly more damaging to your hair than dyeing it once) is dyeing your hair light blonde, then using brown hair dye (based on the current shade of blonde as a "starting" color) over that. It's a less chemically damaging version of stripping.
