about

I'm a mother of 2 boys who are 13 months apart. Talk about a handful. I'm a wife to the best husband I could have ever dreamed of.
I'm one of the very blessed.

I have Bipolar 1 Disorder. I hate taking all these medications and always going to doctors appointments, but life is too short to let mental illness get the better of me.

Often times life is a challenge, and nobody knows that better than me. I wake up wondering if this is going to be a day my illness overpowers my meds, and either sends me flying like a bat out of hell, or leaves me laying on the couch like a wet dish rag.

Thank all that is good in the world that I have an excellent support system at home.
I'm one of the lucky ones.

I'm honest, and that can either be a perk or s flaw. Depends on how you choose to look at it.
I like to see it as a perk, because it's better to hear the truth than to be told candy coated bullshit.

advice

Im so sick of the way my period is argh!I started in about april & they were quite regular now there all over the place and i can have them twice a month, usually every 2and half/three weeks and its soo annoying, there soo unregular. The 1st day I am on the are VERY VERY heavy and like my pad (hate tampons) is quite an absorbant one but its just like COVERED in blood and its just so horrible! And I have never ever had a cramp before i mean what is the deal with that? What can i do to just make them slightly lighter or something? Im 15, started in a april, heavy flow, petite ish, flat cheseted, no cramps, unregualar what can i do because it really weighs me down? Its too much

This is completely normal.
You just started in April, but it can take a few years for your cycle to actually regulate itself.

Like said before me, seeing your doctor about birth control can make your periods lighter and shorter. Other than that, you can't make them lighter.

If you can't get on birth control, you will just have to tough it out and change your pads more frequently until it lightens up.

everytime me and my boyfrien are doing it he has problems getting it in with the condom on but without it, it goes in fine and easily... does anyone know why that happens? or how to fix it?

Since condoms are generally lubricated, it should actually be easier.
It could be he is using the kind that isn't lubricated, or he may be using condoms that do not fit properly. If they don't fit properly, then they aren't doing their job of protecting.

You should always use condoms. Even if you are on birth control. They are the only protection against STDs. Even if you were both virgins, best to start practicing safe sex now.

My bgf and i like each other and want to date but he can't because of a rule at a Teen Help center where he works. Well he kissed me on Sunday and wants to start acting like a couple just without commitment. But if he's not going to commit to me idk if it's a good thing to ac like were together. I mean we could still be really good friends without being all couplish, right? Yeah so what do you think I should do? My 1 friend thinks should try it to see if when we can have a relationshipmif i would want to but my other friend says NO, wait until you can actually have a real relationship. What do you think??? Thanks so much and i rate! :D

I think you should wait until he can have a relationship since it goes against the rules of the Teen Help Center.

You are right that it isn't a good thing for you to act like a couple if you can't be a couple. To act like a dating couple is still considered to be breaking the rule of not being able to date.

By all means, continue with your friendship, but until he can take it a step further, a friendly relationship is all it should be.

ok, so i'm 13/f, and i have to 13/f friends who have been best friends since forever. one feels like she's been living in the other's shadow (lets call her Alma), and doesn't know what to do about it, so finally she gets mad at the other girl (Ana) for no reason. actually her "reason" is that the girl didn't tell her that there were beta club elections for president, and so now she's all pissed. it's so retarded. now she won't even talk to her. and we've all been in a group together since who knows when, and i'm still friends with them both, but they won't talk to each other. Also, "Ana's" birthday is this Friday, and we don't know what to do! if they don't make up before then, i don't know what we're all gonna do. help!

Being stuck in the middle sucks, but there really isn't a whole lot you can do for them if they refuse to talk to one another.
You could try to convince Ana to invite Alma to whatever birthday plans she has made with the rest of her friends.
Or, you can plan a slumber party at your own home and invite each without telling the other that you invited both and hope they will make up.
Other than that, you just have to hope that they will soon resolve their issues and become friends again.

How does Anorexia and Bulimia affect your body/

Quoted from : http://web4health.info/en/answers/ed-other-negative-effects.htm

"In which ways do people with eating disorders suffer? What are the dangers in and effects of bulimia and anorexia?
Answer:

People with eating disorders often feel unwell both physically and mentally. But anorectics sometimes feel high in the beginning.

The mental effect may reduce the quality of life. Feelings of inadequacy, reduced capacity for work and relational problems are common. Anorexia may cause constipation, increased sensitivity to infections, stomach ache, very low pulse, anemia, kidney damage, cardiovascular disorders and shortage of skeletal calcium.

Self-induced vomiting may cause dental damage, shortage of minerals and enlarged salivary glands. Use of laxatives may harm the stomach's normal functions. Stomach ulcers and dangerous heart rhythm problems are rarer side effects."

Also, if you, or someone you know suffers from either of these illnesses, to go untreated leads to a high possibility of death.

Your body NEEDS food to survive.

I wrote a letter to his parents, and they emailed me and thanked me and said I could come by and bring friends to their house sometime, I want to bring them flowers or something, whats something I could make or buy for the, to show that they mean a lot and they've been on our hearts and minds a lot?

I'm sorry if this is a dumb question but we dont know what to do.

This is by no means a dumb question.

You could take flowers or food, but they probably have a lot of flowers, plants, and food already.

Have you considered pooling money with your friends to donate to them to help cover the expenses of his death?
Starting a memorial fund, in other words.
Or, if they have one already, donate to it. That is a great way help to the family in their time of mourning and loss. And it shows your care and concern for them.

I'm sorry for you, his family and friends for your loss.

i havent had my braces for too long compared to how long all my friends had theirs. i just got mine in january so its only been about 9 months. i have been wearing rubberbands for like 3 months now (i just started to double up with them this month though) and i thought that rubber bands were put on when u got closer to the end of your braces life. is this right or do the rubber bands go on at all different times during the process? am i getting my braces off soon? i am a junior so i kinda want to get them off like...now.

I had to wear rubber bands throughout most of the time I had braces.
The length of time you have to wear braces is different for every person. I wore mine for nearly 2 years.
Next appointment you have, discuss this with your orthodontist. They will be able to tell you approximately how long you have to wear them.

I'm a 16 year old female, and i have Ibs. I got my first symptom 2 years ago in the end of 9th grade.. which i had thought was a virus so i just let it pass. When 10th grade came along the first week of school i was sitting in my 8th period class and my ibs kicked in (when i had no idea it was ibs) and i got some really really loud noises.. and when i meen loud i meen you could hear it through closed doors. Along with the noises i got uncomfortable feelings in my stomach...
That day was the worst day for my because i had no idea hwat this was i wasnt hungry and i was annoyed i couldnt control it. I was embaressed although who actually knows if anyone heard it.. but i didnt care I heard it and I didnt like it. Ever since that day i got these problems every day in 8th period class. I would walk in the class really nervous sit down couldnt focus couldnt sit still waiting and waiting for the ibs symptoms to come again and they never let me down they alwaysssss happened.. Now this whole cycle started in another class and another class and whenever this happened once in a location i feared that location forever more. Of course when i found out it was ibs i tried googling it and talking to people asking for cures.. yet no cure. I've tried metamucil and changing my food diet.. nothing helped and i tried them for a while. I also have asked for testing privaleges such as taking tests in a seperate room. that was great until they couldnt do it much longer the seperate rooms started getting filled with others who wanted a seperate room as well. I know a lot of people suffer this and my dad has given me multiple deep talks telling me that i can overcome this anxiety fear caused by something so simple that if someone else heard of it they wouldnt understnad why i get so worked up about it. I think its a little comforting that other people go throught this my age... but its not going to make this problem go away for me. I have a problem thinking positively and clearing my mind so that also never helped..

Anyway my main purpose for posting this is because ive already missed 3 days of school and it just started.. im home from school right now. i just cant go to school its becoming a problem.... and i really dont want to have to go through another full year of suffering like i did last year.. i would cut class not go to school avoid any fearful situations possible.. sometimes althoguh i would force myself to sit in class someitmes there was also no way out and it would be horrible i couldnt focus at all it was so bad.i dont know what to

I just had 5 days off from school and i was so relaxed and so happy i loved it.. and ive come to realize that when i go to school i become sad and crazy.. i know the proper thing to do is overcome my fears and go to school but honestly i dont think i can .. and i jsut want to be happy and not worry and not have to spend this whole school year trying to overcome a problem when i should really be focusing on school and my grades for college.

What i extremely want to do is be homeschooled for this year and maybe next.. i think my life will be so much more clear and happy. Ive asked my parents and they wont do it but i just want to so bad

Have you seen a doctor about your IBS?
If not, you should, because your anxieties about attending school is something that should be discussed with your doctor.
From what I understand, stress can cause IBS to flare, and it is obvious that going to school has become a stress.
Also, since a diet change and added fiber to your diet did nothing for you, that is something else that is important for you to discuss with your doctor.
They may have a different solution that will work for you.

I am in need of guidance. I have one child that is seven months old and my doctors put me on the lowest hormone dosage birth control because I'm breastfeeding, but I'm pregnant again. I don't know what to do. I didn't miss any pills and I've been on the pills for about 4 months now. I can't afford another child and while the father and I are together, I'm not planning on staying with him because he isn't reliable and won't share the responsibilities of parenthood. I'm 24 and completely lost as to what to do. I really need advice. I just can't bring myself to talk to my family about this. Please help.

I, too, am pregnant and have a 7 month old son. I understand your worries of how to be able to afford another child, especially so soon. Plus, one infant takes up a lot of time, let alone a 1 year old and a newborn. (My son will be 13 months when the next one is born...)
I totally understand that accidents such as this DO happen. Personally, I figure it was meant to be, so I will make it work.

The big difference is, I'm lucky enough to be married to a wonderful, supportive man who shares in all of the parenting responsibilities.

If you are unhappy with this guy, I don't ever think it is wise to stay together "for the sake of the children." If the parents are unhappy with each other, the children pick up on that, and they, too, are unhappy.

I strongly advise you go to your family with your problem. Surely they will help you in your situation and help you to decide what is the best thing to do.
Right now, you NEED the support of your family, so hard as it may be, you need to talk to them.

ok so my ex an i were together for about 6 months and we broke up for a lot of reasons.
1. we live in different cities
2. he is still married but not living with his wife
3. i became really clingy and paroniod about everything.

anyways after we broke up we stopped talking to each other for about a month, but we just couldn't stay aways for long it has been 3 months now and i still love him so much and i think he still cares i mean he tells me that he wants to be with me that he wants to see me and asks when i am going to move to his city since that was the plan to be closer and because i want out of where i live.

but every time i ask him is he is being true with me he doesn't answer me, he was never like that he always answered any question i had.

how can i get him to asnwer me? i just don't want to get hurt anymore.

Well, you can demand an answer and hope the answer he gives isn't just something you want to hear, or you can accept the high possibility that he has no answer to give you.
It is possible that he either isn't being true with you or he is unsure if that is what he really wants.
Honestly? If he can't give you an answer to that question, you should seriously consider moving on to avoid being hurt.

me and this girl jenn have been best friend for three years already and i hate to see the friend ship end but latly she has been talking behind my back and ditching me and when i try to tell her she just gets mad what should i do?

You know, though it really sucks, I think you should just let her go.
A true best friend would not do those things to you. She would watch your back, not stab it. She wouldn't get mad when you confront her with your feelings- she would listen to you and try to make things right.
I know it is hard to move on from a lengthy friendship, but it just isn't worth it if she is being a fake.
You deserve better than that.

okay well i have kinda a big problem.
me and my boyfriend broke up like 2 weeks ago.
and my ex from before him is starting to come back and wants to be with me again.

but before in our relationship he was an ass and he did kinda treat me like shit and cheated on me. and alll my friendds hate him because of what he did to me.

but i lost my virginity to him last year, so i never really got over him completely.
and now hes back, and saying hes never got over me and hes always loved me and all this stuff

so my question is should i give him another chance?
or just kinda be with him for a couple weeks and see how he is?

N-O, NO.

He treated you like shit and cheated on you.

An ex is an ex for a reason. He needs to stay that way or you are looking for a broken heart. Period.

I have this feather duster in my room right and I have a clear-glass computer table so it's always so dusty and i always have to dust it.

But when I dust it, dust just flys up into the room all around, it doesn't go anywhere =/

Help?

Try using something like a Pledge dusting cloth rather than a feather duster.
You are right, feather dusters just stir up the dust, whereas something like a dust cloth actually traps the dust.

Hey I need help convincing my parents to get me a snake! I want one soo bad, and I'd do pretty much anything for it. So how can I persuade them? Have any of you done it before, and have any pointers?
That would be great!
Thankss!!

You know, I really hate being the bearer of bad news, but if they said NO, I'm certain they mean it. (In other words, good luck on this one...)

I'm sure it isn't because they don't want you to have a pet snake. I'm sure it is because they are thinking of all the "what ifs" involved in having one.
Such as: "What if it gets out of it's tank and crawls into your bed while you sleep seeking the warmth of your body? What if it finds your neck nice and toasty and constricts around it crushing your windpipe?"

Yah, I know, not likely to happen. HOWEVER I'm sure this is a grave concern that goes through EVERY parent's mind when their child asks for a pet snake.

I'm not ranking having a snake- snakes make cool pets. My brother had an awsome python and I thought she was great.
However, as long as you live under your parent's roof, you MUST respect their decisions.
Do you think my parents allowed my brother to have a python? Oh hell, no! He waited until he moved out on his own. Sometimes that is the only way to do it.

I have a friend who I shall call Jon. I really REALLY like him, despite my constant reasoning that I don't want to like him. I am in the process of eliminatining my reasoning to embrace my affection. I want to know if there's any way to fall OUT of love with him, or a really good way to make him love me back. I have a lot of pride (not vanity, there's a difference, it's the fact that pride is what you think of yourself, and vanity is what you want others to think of you) and don't often fall so far for someone. I keep thinking that if I ignore how I feel, it'll go away, but it doesn't seem to work. Any help?

I'm not a guy, but I can't sit here and allow you to get no answers to your question.

Ok, listen- NO. There is no way to make him love you back. You can't change his feelings any more than you can change the past.

I can't tell you how to fall out of love with him other than you giving it time to pass. You can't just change your feelings any more than you can change his.

The only thing I can tell you is to try to continue to ignore your feelings for him. Maybe find another guy to go out with?

There is nothing wrong what so ever with falling for someone. Yes, you may have a lot of pride, but having feelings for another is what makes us human.

Yes, sometimes being a human hurts, especially when we love someone we don't want to or when we love someone who doesn't love us back. That part sucks, but it happens from time to time. The only thing to do is wait for the feelings to fade, which will in time.

I don't know that I helped, but I hope I did. :)

Where can i find some factual information on vampires? I know they are fictional characters, but any information from people that THINK they have come across a vampire? (online preferably)

only search advicenators.com

Vlad The Impaler is the original "Dracula" and if you use that search, you will come up with a bunch of sites that link you to his story.
He is the inspiration of Bram Stoker's "Dracula."

He was a real guy.

I want a monroe, really badly. But my Dad kept saying "Mm, Yeah, Is that a pimple? If you came home with a piercing i'll rip it off your face" the thing is, a monroe would look really good on me.

What can I do to convince him to let me get one?

Hate to tell you, but you won't be able to. The only way you could convince him is if you are one of those girls who daddy can't say no to, but you are obviously not one of those girls.
Best bet? Wait until you are 18 to do it. Until then, you just have to respect his decision.

I want to start keeping germ x with me since its getting close to cold season, but I saw someone witha square looking bottle that doesnt smell like germ x but like vanilla, where could I get this?

Ok, I know this doesn't answer your question, but I want to give you a little bit of advice on the whole germ thing.
I know it is cold and flu season coming up, but allowing your body to be exposed to such germs keeps your immune system strong.

For instance, say you take this germ medicine and then you stop, forget, or what have you, and then you catch a cold virus. What can happen is what was a mild cold to your friend is a severe cold to you all the sudden.

I know you don't want to be sick- I hate being sick, too. But think of the flu shot as a prime example- it is actually intended for the elderly and the sickly, not for the rest. It is so intended for a reason. Reason being is that the elderly and sickly don't have strong immune systems, so colds and flus can become life threatening.

Not saying you have a bad idea, but just saying that your body NEEDS germs to fight so it doesn't become weak and unable, in turn causing you to be sickly.

Make sense?

I have these weird, redish colored bumps on my chest. At first I just thought it was acne, so I medicated it like I would if I had any zits on my face (masks, astringent etc), but it didn't work. The bumps only got bigger, and they won't go away. I've tried popping them, but when I do it really, really hurts. Every time I succeed in popping one it just gets redder and swells up and hurts. They look like zits but they're harder and once again don't go away. SO my question is, is this acne?
Should I go see a dermitoligist?
What else could it be?
It's really annoying and unattractive so I really want a solution. Thanks!

I would assume that if it isn't responding to acne treatments, then your best bet is to get the opinion of a dermatologist. It may be acne, but obviously the conventional treatments haven't cleared it up.

Weather it is acne or not, they can give you something to treat it and make the bumps heal up and go away.
