A few thoughts I've gathered from my teenage years (and being on this site for most of them!):
1. If you Google song lyrics, the song will come up 99% of the time.
2. Dress to fit your body type, and buy the size that fits. If you're a size 6, squeezing into a 4 won't make you look skinnier. It makes you look fat when you aren't.
3. You will never regret waiting to lose your virginity.
4. There is such a thing as a stupid question, but we're all allowed to ask them.

Okay, so here's what happened. My friend really likes this guy, and i do too. And we are sure he likes both of us. And so today, my friend wanted to know, so she asked me if i could ask him if he liked anyone, and if so who. And i said that she could, because i wanted to know. So, after school..she went up to him, and told him. "i need to talk to you". and he said "okay, hold on let me get something". so he went running...and went past me. [by the way: i wasn't with her]. And, so i saw him running, put his backpack down, and then went somewhere. And he came back, after a long time. And my friend was tearing because she thought he ran away from her, and i think he did, because he just sat back on the hill he usually sits at, and didn't do anything. And obviously, he didn't forget. And he was looking at her...and she had to go, and she told me to ask him, so my friend stayed there for a little bit while i was gonna ask. And i was about to go, but then his mom picked him up. And so now, what should we do because today was the last say of school..? And we can't call him, and he lives near us. We can't call him or email him.

He was probably nervous/afraid to talk to you or tell either of you how he feels.

Since he lives near you, try making plans. Why can't you call him? Get his number somehow; he might be less nervous on the phone :)

How can I be more confident around guys? I've never had a boyfriend and never been asked out before either. My brother (who's 16) says i'm good looking enough, it's just because i'm mean. He says i'm not nice enough around guys. I kinda agree, cuz my philosophy has always been "if you don't need the person, there's no use wasting time getting to know them. screw them for now." i know it's bad...i'm really anti-social and prefer not to interact with people much. I know i come across as bitchy a lot. But now i'm done with it. I'm going into high school, and I'm interested in guys...and want to make new friends, especially with boys. So my question is...how do i be more confident in school and stuff and how do i get guys to notice me?

Well, highschool's a good opportunity to "start over" especially if you're going to a different school [like a tech school as opposed to your town's highschool].

Talk to people, and just be nice about it. "Hey, how are you", etc. Think about the friends you have now, or how easily conversations go with someone you're confortable around. Talk like that around guys- whether you like them as a friend or maybe more. Ask what the homework is, ask to work as partners on a project, etc. You can get guys to notice you by just being yourself. You won't attract the wrong kind of attention this way, and you'll always be genuine.

ok so my mom is soo overprotective and i dont know what to do. here are some examples, she looks over my shoulder and reads what im typing to my friends on aim, if i say liike "wow today was so much fun" so one of my friends, my mom would be like "Why, what did you do today?" oh my gosh all the time and then i was looking at myspace layouts and she saw one[the myspace layouts on the internet are just previews, so they have TOM on the top 8. and my mom is like who is that man? im like oh my gosh its the owner of myspace, he is always on there. like ughhh she wonders why im always upset, and its because she doesnt trust me. she says its not a trust issue, but all of the apove, pretty much spells it out. theres other things she does but i dont know please help me, what should i do?

She's not being overprotective, she's just looking out for you. Sure, myspace is no big deal if you use your head, but our parents hear these horror stories about kids getting killed and raped so of course they're gonna be concerned. Have her look at Tom's profile & prove he's the creator of myspace.

As for saying, "oh what did you do today?" she's just curious about what's going on in your life. You don't have to tell her ever detail, just say "Yea Mom, a bunch of us all went to the football game and Chad ran into a pole and fell in the mud; that's what's so funny"

If she's reading your journal or listening to your phone conversations, then yeah, you could say she's being overprotective & borderline invading your privacy. Otherwise, she's just being a concerned parent and you should really appreciate that she cares so mcuh.

Does anyone know where I can get like lime green nail polish and maybe some other like electric and bright colors. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

New York Color has some pretty crazy colors. You can buy it for 99 cents [94 cents at Target] at stores like CVS, Brooks, etc. Wet N Wild, if you can find a store that still sells it, is really good too.

I'm writing a story with a girl who has some conflicts that eventually grow into being a part of her life and all that she is aware of. It might turn into a love story between her, and her best friend Jake. Jamie (the main character) loses her friend David due to a drunk driving incident. I want the setting of this story to be in a small town somewhere in the United States, somewhere quiet with very little people. I've lived in big cities, (Saint Louis, Boston, Dallas) so I don't really know much about little cities. If anyone lives in a small town/city it would help me a great deal if you can tell me about your town. Maybe the surroundings, activities, sports, people, interests, crimes, anything of that sort. Surroundings: old houses, a fair amount of developments, a supermarket where mostly highschoolers work, and a Cumberland Farms that's pretty much the highlight of our town.

Activities: walk around town with your friends & have the cops follow you. Without getting arrested.

Sports: two words- stupid Rams. [beat Northbridge]

People: we're indescribable. Once a Spartan, always a Spartan. ORANGE AND BLACK PRIDE! We're a unique bunch. Show us a box of Hamburger Helper, and we'll find a way to make it explode.

Interests: umm... shoplifting, yelling at people for aforementioned crime, walking around town, complaining about old, fat gym teachers.

Crimes: mostly stupid stuff like shoplifting 99 cent items. But awhile back we had this psycho guy strangle his mother, and some other guy got beaten into a coma at a bar & died [poor guy]. Only two times I recall us ever making the news. Pathetic, huh?

Biggest thing about a small town? Everybody knows everybody. You know everyone's business, and if you do something stupid everyone knows within a day :)

this girl keeps bothering me on myspace and i wuz wondering if i found out her ip address could it tell me her phone number even though she doesn't put her phone numberon her myspace. because im sick of her and i want to talk to her parents because this is getting out of hand.

Tell her to stop. If she doesn't, block her from contacting you on myspace.

You didn't say how old you are- if she's young, she probably doesn't know that what she's doing could be considered harrassment.

Your best bet is simply to block her entirely. And NOT give her your number :)

I've got naturally curly hair- so I'm kind of jealous of you haha. But I've done my mom's hair, and other people's... anyways. Definitely try curlers. Get them now, and try out whatever method you choose BEFORE graduation, so that you can modify the technique as needed [more hairspray, smaller curlers, etc]. Use curlers on damp hair, and use a hair dryer [or the heat of the sun, or both] to really set the curl. Leaving them in longer helps.

Have you tried curling irons? Use regular hair gel (preferably one that makes crunchy curls or "extreme" hold) and heat protecting spray. Do your hair in small sections and seal each individual curl with hairspray. Time-consuming, yes. But it works for everyone I've seen. Plus, as the curls relax you're left with lovely waves.

Sometimes plain ol' scrunching works. Depending on the kind of curl you want, braiding your hair [with gel in it] and leaving them in for a few hours or overnight is enough. Sometimes this ends with a frizzball, though- so try that one when you have time to wash your hair again.

I've never tried curling shampoo [no need] but they're worth a shot, 'cause they're not that expensive.

ok so my absolutely lovely girlfriend is out of town for three weeks. what are some ways that can stop me from missing her so much?

Hang out with your friends. Do things you might otherwise not have time for- you could go on an all-weekend trip with some friends and not worry about calling her.

Or you could just play videogames for three weeks straight. Whatever floats your boat :)

Tell this kid to stop. If he doesn't, tell your brother or your parents. What he's doing isn't right and he really should stop, but if you haven't told him to he thinks its okay.

i dont wanna tan in the sun because that can cause skin canser and tanning beds R NOT GOOD so how can i get a natural looking tan without the bottle stuff that makes your skin look orange.THANKSSSS

Jergen's Natural Glow is pretty much incapable of turning anyone orange. Try it- it's about $6 a bottle.

Go outside wearing sunscreen and you're guaranteed to get some color. Going in the sun doesn't kill you; it's sitting in the sun for six hours with no sun protection that's causing melanomas. Wear a good sunscreen & reapply it every 2-3 hours. Don't be an idiot about the sun and you'll be fine. It' actually good for you and helps your body make vitamin D.

Check any moles you have for changes, and go to a dermatologist if you notice anything. But you should do that anyways.

i have this really bad habit of picking my pimples. and then they scab and wen they scab i keep picking them. then my face is red wen im swimming aka not wearing makeup. how do i stop pickingg?

Everytime you go to pick at your zits, think of how bad it'll make your face look & how much it hurts, etc.

You could try the " snap an elastic on the wrist" trick- but don't do it too hard, just hard enough to detract yourself from doing it again :)

how do u helps scabs heal faster. and can u make them less red somehow?

Use Neosporin, and don't pick at the dry skin as it heals.

Once you're left with the scar, put vitamin E oil on it everyday to help it heal & fade faster. I swear by it; I'm not sure if it's all in my head- but vitamin E capsules are really cheap so it's worth a shot!

Okay so help please. My White African Cichlid that I got Monday is laying on its side on the bottom of the tank. I had him in a 2 1/2 gallon tank with my gold fish. The Cichlid didnt swim around much except to chase my goldfish, and he ate some of my gold fish's tail so i put a divider that i made from a plastic bag and carboard. There was some plastic that was loose and tonight my cichlid got stuck in it and was laying on its side. My mom moved the divider and told me so i took the divider out. Then the cichlid swam to the corner of the tank, in his favorite spot. Then he chased my gold fish. So I decided to put him in a different tank that is a 1 gallon tank. The second I put him in there, he layed on his side on the bottom. My mom said he is going to die. Whats wrong with him and what can I do to save him?

He's gonna die, sorry. Once fish lose their desire to, like, move, it's bad.

Keep him in the water until he's dead- at least he'll be comfortable.

I'm dog sitting this weekend! and the dog (butterscotch) died! I just came home and he was curled up under the couch. I don't know what to do!!!!!! they're coming back tomorrow, and its only a year old! omggg

Ignore the person that implied you neglected the dog. If you've taken care of it, he died of natural causes, and it's unfortunate that it happened while they were away.

Try to call them and let them know ahead of time. Ask them what they want you to do about it.
