ok, i go to swimteam during the summer, but i started my period. what tricks can i do-besides a tampon-to prevent blood from coming out? i've tried panty liners already...

yeah don't try panty liners... i STRONGLY advise that you use tampons because at practice (usually people dont have the lane to themselves) it would be terrible if you did leak and someone behind you get it in their face. if you're light, you can go without anything but really, you need to learn to use tampons. there are no other tricks.

Okay, once I was looking at some questions, and I came across this girl who had this problem. Though after she was done explaining her problem she gave a list of ways that she would like the question to be answered. The most non secencial one was when she said, "For all you people who TlaK lyk DIs" Don't bother answering. That just pissed me off because if you REALLY need help, then you wouldn't care how people answered your question, as long as it gets answered in the first place. My question is: If people list ways to answer their question, then how are we suppose to answer it honestlly if we can't fully express our feelings due to their moranic limitations?

I think if someone really needs help, they should listen to what everyone has to say. But on the other hand, language was made so people could communicate. if you TyPPs ]IKK3 DiSZsz, people can't understand what you are saying, making it pointless for them to try to decipher it tobegin with. Usually when people type like that, it's a sign that they are young and probably immature. (not always, but it'sa good hint) and maybe this person was looking for some more mature advice. I read about it alot and well in the long run it makes you pretty stupid... and it can ruin your lungs. that's about it. no serious addiction factors... i have a friend who used to and just quit without any reprocussions. i wouldn't recommend it tho.

I was invited to a large party that takes place this weekend. I said that I'd go, because of the occasion and the person who is throwing it, but I really do not want to stay for a long time. First of all, I am not much of a party person. I usually just sit there by myself while being bored out of my mind. Second of all, I'm not much of a people person. There are going to be a LOT of people there. I really don't want to have to be around that many people for too long, especially since I hate most of them. Normally I leave parties with the excuse of not feeling well or something like that, but certain people (although not everyone) are starting to catch on. I need some good excuses to leave a party that do not involve being sick.

I go to an all girls high school and i remember being all worried about meeting guys too. it's not going to ruin your social life! go to mixers/dances with your friends and meet some guys there, hang out with the guys from your grade school, get involved in actvities that involve both genders- theater, coed soccer, church groups - and meet guys there. when you meet other girls, if they throw parties, you'll meet some guys they know and some of their friends. it's not impossible to meet guys.

Well, i think it will be just as akward for him as it is for you. i would ask him for some money to get some supplies and get it over and done with. you could try asking an aunt or one of your close friend's moms to help you out. just make sure you have privacy in your bathroom. if your bro is 18, he's probably a senior? maybe when he goes to college or starts his life you can have his room or just get your own space. remember, periods happen to every female so he knows its comming... i'm sure your bros know it too. they dont have to know when you are on it tho, just dont make it too obvious.

Im 14 9th grade and im homeschooled. The local high school is having the prom. I feel really left out especially when prom comes around. My mom wants to homeschool me through high school, but I know I dont want to be. My question is can someone help me to make my mom feel more comfortable with going to school? hey i'm sorry that you feel left out but at my school and the school in my area, you can't go to prom until junior or even senior year! some girls get invited by older guys but ususally freshmen don't go anyway. it sucks to not be able to go but maybe if you start meeting guys now, they'll invite you to prom next year. you don't have to go to the same school as the guy to go to their prom. if you really want to go to a regular school (i'm warning you, it's not as god as you may think) then tell her that you can make decisions and that going there won't change you...it will just open you up to the real world before reality hits you in college.

i do suggest washing your hair once... then using secret deoderant sprays (you know those sparkle ones? they hide everything!). change your clothes, put your hair up (especially if you didn't wash it). chew on some gum, brush your teeth, get some breath mints, etc.

Ok so yesterday morning, I drove to school and as I got out, I noticed that my ankle was hurting.
Now, sometimes it hurts like hell, sometimes it doesn't. Mostly, it's the back of my ankle, if I step on my tip toes it hurts. Sometimes it hurts when I'm walking normally, sometimes it's fine.
Now, my prom is on Sunday and my heels are 5 INCHES, I bought them for $400 in a specialty store when I was in Germany.
I have to move around because I have to go to the mall and buy stuff for grad, get my hair done, manicure/pedicure, buy a purse, et cetera so I can't rest because I only have 4 days.
I missed school today to rest my ankle, but what the hell else am I supposed to do? I can't drive myself to the hospital and my cousin was there on Sunday and the wait was 5 hours to actually get inside (and her problem was pretty serious).
What do I do? I'm going to a have a panic attack. I've been planning my prom for ages!

oh man! well i'm not sure about your prom but most dances around here, people wear the shoes for 5 minutes then take them off. just calm down, take pain relief and ice it often. it all depends on if your dress is short or full length. if it's short, wear them as long as you can then dance without them. if it's long, i think you should ditch the shoes. (i know it's not the best idea since they're special) i would personally go with flats or something you can walk it. it would suck to be in pain all night so plan accordingly. if it's a long walk, throw flip flops in your purse to walk out in. (you might need a big one. well sorry this is going on...i hope everything works out for you!

at my school, the ones that really stood out to me were neon pink. they were really bright and had big black font and black and white polka dot ribbon at the bottom. there was like this half sphere thing at the top which made it 3-d and really noticable. it was simple and elegant and definatly got attention. good luck!

Yesterday, my flow was pretty heavy, so this morning I put in a tampon and went off to school. It felt uncomfortable, and when I went to take it out, it hurt really bad then when it came out, it was almost completley white, with very little blood. It burned to take it out, and ever since then, I've felt sore down there.

Is there some wrong?

it hurts because it didnt have anything on it. that sucks but it happens.
