ok i know this is in the wrong category but.. in about a week im going to the eye doctor... and im 99.9% sure im going to be getting contacts for the first time.. what i want to know is do contact hurt after so long wearing them or.. do they easily fall out somehow.. an stuff like that.. please help! thanx.. ((i rate good))
No, they don't just fall out. It takes a while to get used to, though, and you have to be careful about keeping them clean.
Personally, I like having my trusty pair of glasses around for lazy days, because contacts can be a pain in the ass.
For future reference, maybe you should put your questions in the right category before you submit it, as well.

i have gotten really close to my guy friend mike and we talk all the time. i have strong feelings for him and i DID tell him that i do like him. i think i put him in an akward position. did i do the right thing by telling him how i feel?
It was pretty brave of you to go and tell him how you feel up front, good for you for having the guts. Did you tell him because you felt the same way, or maybe because you want to start a relationship? He might have felt akward because he still thinks of you as just a friend. Give him a while for it to sink in, and don't act differently around him than you always have. You don't want to ruin a friendship because your feelings got stronger.

My mom is an alchoholic(or however you spell it) and she left my father a few years ago. She has been an alchoholic for as long as I cant remember and she has wrecked about 5 of our cars. She used to make me lie for her so my father wouldnt find out she had been drinking. I never told on my mother, because she convinced me that it was my father who was the problem. Whenever he found out about my mothers drinking, she would blame it on me and call me a bitch. I never blamed her, saying that it was the alchohol, and not her talking. She has been to jail twice, and also AA, which did nothing. After she left my father she took half of the money with her and ruined my chances for a good college. She still blamed my father. After that she got both a dog and a cat for me but was "keeping them for me" at her apartment. She lost both of them. She dated about 100 guys who she scraped up from the under belly of satan. (They were all the "one")she finally married one of the grungiest, who smelled of pot( she did drugs to.)then she skipped town after not showing up to court after a drug bust.We havent heard from her or her husband since. All of this almost killed me. She went from loving mother to a pot addict between jobs and under house arrest in a hotel. Its hard going day after day not knowing if your mother ids still alive, so please if anyone out there knows or knew a woman named Judy M. Flint ( maiden name Judith M. Daniel) please let me know? And if anyone has gone through something similar it would be great to talk to you. Thanks
Dealing with an alcoholic parent is one of the hardest things a kid can go through, and I can understand how hurtful and confusing it all can be.
First off, please understand that none of your mother's actions are in any way your fault. She is an alcoholic, and that is a disease, and the only person that could ever help her get out of that is herself. That she married a man that got her into trouble and ignored any help from AA is a sure sign that she is refusing to help herself, and unfortunately there is nothing that you can really do for her.
Try to understand that your mother has been very selfish and left you with a lot of pain, but that doesn't mean you should keep seeking her for the attention and love she used to give you. There is a good chance that she may not contact you for a long time because she is obviously not taking your feelings into account with her actions.
It's hard to understand why people fall into things like this, but there may be a whole history to her life you know very little about. In any case, she was irresponsible, and you have to be able to move on in your own way and hopefully live a happier life than she is currently leading. Don't let her actions make you feel like you need to change, feel guilty, or feel worried. That is not your responsibility nor should it feel that way.
If you would like to talk to me personally feel free to IM me on any of the messengers I have, or email me.

Hi I'm 14 and I'm 5'2ish. I weigh 110. I wear a C cup and I think around a 3 in jeans. (Not sure maybe a 5) But the problem is, I look at everyone else and I feel that I should weigh 100 or 105. I was going to do chrunches and things to loose weight. But I'm always too lazy. (lol) I used to dance and do gymnastics ever since i could walk. (not gymnastics, I just started that) But I quit. Um..what's your advice on, if I should not worry about it, since I'm still growing or be more cautious because I seriously don't want to gain too much weight. I want to be considered skinny, not in the middle, which I am now? Also, I love to eat! (lol) I think it's kind of an emotional thing for me. I'm definitely not fat or anything like that but I don't think that I could give up food. Thanks for your help!
You, chubby? Surely you jest. Keep eating, for the love of god, and take it easy on the excersize. Stop worrying about your weight so much. You're still growing, and being too skinny isn't healthy, just like being overweight isn't healthy.

I have auburn/light brown hair and I want to temporarily dye it. I've been told Kool-aid will work on blonde hair.. but will it work on darker hair? My natural color is almost black... so that might have an effect too....
What color of kool-aid should I use on my hair.... and will the kool-aid wash out...
my parents wont let me dye my hair permanently again... so I need something that will wash out in the next day or two....
Please help me!
Unless you bleach, this will not work on your hair.
Try using spray-on dyes that wash out with shampoo - it's basically a hard and colored hairspray, and not permanent at all. Sometimes you can find them at gag/gift/costume shops.

id like to be a writer when i grow ^ maybe for the miami herald. like i wunna be maybe even the advice columnist. anything in the miami herald would be awesome. i dk wut should i do to practice 4 the future? i really want to be a writer!! does it pay alot?!?! p.s. i kno writers spell everything right its just im 13!! lol. and i like spelling stuff wrong unless its for school like a project, homework, or an assignment!! lol!! im going to 8th grade.
If you really want to be a writer, get used to the idea of not being rich and famous. Ever hear of the term the "starving artist"? Yeah, well writing pretty much falls under this category for most who decide to use this as a career. If you're really passionate about it, try getting an advice column in your school newspaper or something. Write all the time, about everything. Try to get an English teacher to help you after school and see if you can improve any articles or stories you write.
And writers don't necessarily spell everything correctly, either. That's where spellcheck comes in for me - but it helps to be more conscious of what you are writing about enough to spell out whole words. That would be a good start to improve your writing in itself.

im 12 yrs old i dont know anyone who has had sex (well people my age and a couple yars older) but when i read some of these problems on advicenators most of the people are like 13 or 14 and say that they have sex a lot its kind of creepy my sisters 14 but she hasnt had sex im wondering if these people are either lying about their age or more mature than me. i feel like when im 13 or 14 that il be soo pressured into sex and stuff. i hear these unbelievable stories of guys and girls having sex since they were 12. its so perverted and i mean is it weird im not ready or as into it as other people are?
Just because someone is having sex doesn't mean that they are truly mature enough to handle it. In fact, that there are people your age already having sex is pretty strange to me as well. There are plenty of people that are far older than you and are still virgins, and there is nothing wrong with that. Never feel like you should have sex before you are absolutely ready, and even then, please remember to use condoms. There is nothing weird about not having sex at your age - in fact, good for you for not being pressured so far. Keep it up and don't do anything you don't want to do.

my 17 yr old sister is 8 weeks pregnant adn i kno shes not ready to be a mother and i dont kno how to help her get prepared! wut should i do?
It's really good of you to be concerned about your sister at this time, first of all, and right now the most important thing you can do for her is be there for her. Is the father of the baby involved at all with the pregnancy? If not, then she'll be glad for you to help her out as she gets morning sickness if you're around, or just plain spend a little time with her if she seems lonely. Hopefully, she isn't smoking/drinking/using drugs during the pregnancy, and if she is maybe you could try to help her stop, as that could kill or hurt her growing baby. The thing is, there only so much you can really do for your sister right now. That she got pregnant before she was ready was a choice she made, so don't think that you can help her with every aspect of having a baby - this she needs to learn on her own.

i just got a tokay gecko from my friend and shes grumpy. i realize thats a species characteristic but i was wondering if anybody has domesticated one to the point that you could safely handle it, and if so, how?
Tokay geckos are well known for being quite "grumpy" around people in general. Often, they will bite you as soon as you place your hand in their territory, and are very hard to train unless you start right at the start, (when they are just hatched, really).
It's not impossible, but it's pretty difficult. You could try to separate feeding time with your 'bonding' time, and start slowly, trying to handle him/her only maybe a few minutes every other day, then every day, then for more time. Maybe, just maybe, the little bugger will get used to you.

i'm 15 and i want my belly button pirced and my dad doesn't mind but my mom want let...i mean all my close friends have theres done...even my friend that has the meanest parents in the world! but i was woundering how i could get my mom to let me get it done!??
It's good to know more about it before you get it. Most adults find piercing parts of the body other than the ears very strange and scary, - maybe your mother thinks of it as a symbol that you may be falling in with a bad crowd, for example.
Believe me, there is no reason to rush into getting a peircing. I don't really think it's a good idea to rush and get a hole poked in your stomache without you thinking about all of the risks involved. Try reading up on the subject more and decide for yourself what you should do, and don't just go ahead and try to get it on your own. Piercings can be fun, but you must really be willing to care for exactly as they tell you it in a serious way - or it will get infected and you will get very sick.
That said, by going to the webzine http://www.BMEzine.com, you will find a TON of information on naval (bellybutton) piercings and FAQs about peircings in general. You could print this out, and more information you find about this peircing on there for your mother to read, and maybe when she sees that you have done your research on the topic she'll realize that it's not as bad as she thought - not to meantion, you'd learn something too. Most importantly, make sure you're getting this peircing because you want it, not just because your friends are all getting it. This is a HOLE that will be in your body for a long, long time - and you want to make sure it's something you really will want in a few years.
