I've done a quick search, but can't find this particular question.
I'm not quite sure what you had asked, but I can tell you this; you won't be able to have a program removed from Netflix. Netflix buys content from companies that own that content. If you don't like something, just don't watch it. It's that simple. There's plenty I don't like on there, so I just skip over it and watch more Parks and Recreation instead :)

Q: 20/f
I'm under 25 years old and I live in Texas.
There was snow today and the roads were icy. I was driving and I breaked far away before hitting an intersection but I lost control of my car. My car skid and hit the bumper of another car. There was more damaged done to my car than it did to theirs (only leaving a scratch). The fire department came and saw that there wasn't much of an accident to deal with since both of us were fine and left. The police came 10 minutes after the accident and issued me a "Fail to control speed-accident" ticket.
I am slightly confused. The police was not present during the accident to monitor my speed but yet; I was presented a ticket. I am going to court in two weeks and I was wondering if there was any possibility in dismissing my ticket?

As adviceman said, there is a possibility depending on how lenient the judge is.
To address your confusion on how the police could ticket you without knowing what speed you were going:
Even if you were below the posted speed limit, speed control also depends on the road conditions. If you were unable to stop at an intersection, even braking from far away, it means that you were driving too fast for the snowy, icy road. This is what you'll need to defend.

Q: K so basically been talking to this guy for a few months now and we've hung out a few times. Today he asked me to come over to just cuddle and watch a movie so I said sure. Everything was going well we cuddled and watched a movie and then started making out and that's when things went downhill. While he was making out with me he was touching me in spots I wasn't comfortable with him touching me so I asked if he could please just stop because I wasn't comfortable and he did for a little bit and then the kissing got a little more intense and he started the awkward touching so again I asked him to stop and jokingly said otherwise and he said otherwise what and I said I'll leave that's when he said k bye now he was laughing when he said this but I don't know why I just got up grabbed my stuff, said bye and ran out of his house I really don't know why I did that I knew he was joking but I just left it makes no sense I don't know why I did that I really like him. Anyways not even a second after I left he texted me saying seriously that was really rude what's wrong with you and I didn't know what to say so I said I thought he was serious anyways I really messed up he deleted me off bbm but I did call and apologize and we are talking again but it's like awkward I don't know how to make this better. I really like him and I've had horrible dates before where I've gone through instead of getting up and leaving but today I just left and it made no sense it was almost like I didn't know what I was doing. He thinks I didn't want to be there because of the way I ran out.

Your decision to leave makes perfect sense, really. This guy was violating your personal boundaries despite you asking him repeatedly not to touch you where he was touching you. He didn't take your requests seriously.
Somewhere, in the back of your mind, you didn't feel comfortable. You did nothing wrong, and he's basically being a baby about it. It was rude of him to tell you to leave (even jokingly), so you were well within your rights to take him up on the offer!

Q: I have no idea how this works really but me and my boyfriend would like to buy a home ln September... Neither of us have any credit.. I hAve a car loan and credit card both in my moms name so I don't get credit for it maybe a little..I tried various credit card company's and no one will give me a card... My credit score is like 600, and my boyfriends is 0.. We both have been at our jobs for 5 years but only seasonal.. We would like to put 5% to 10% down on a house but I'm wondering if Anyone would even give us a loan being that we have no credit? Even if we could rent to own or something.. I don't want to pay rent for someone else's mortgage.. If anyone can help thank you :))

As someone who bought a house with my husband at age 19, I know a lot about this.
First off, it depends on where you live. I live in Canada, and rules here are stricter than in the U.S. If you don't have at least 20% down, you have to pay an extra 1% on your mortgage, which adds up to a lot. Also, you have to be able to show steady income. This is where we had trouble, because we were both students. We ended up getting the mortgage because we were able to show 4 months of steady employment and because we had enough saved to cover the costs of living during the school year, but only because the bank manager made an exception for us. We were rejected by 4 banks before this one gave us a loan, and my husband had excellent credit for a guy his age. What I would suggest is to go to the bank and ask them to pre-approve you to find out what range you can afford. If they're not on board, there's a good reason for it. They won't take unnecessary risk if they can avoid it.
The big thing to think about is that home ownership is a money sink. Interest rates are really low right now, but could you afford the same house if the rates doubled? How about tripled? Be sure that you have some wiggle room that way. Another way it can be an issue is repairs and maintenance. What if you develop a huge crack in your foundation, or your roof starts to leak, or your pipes burst? You can basically bet on spending at least 2% of the value of the house every year in maintenance and repairs. When we moved in we were surprised to find out that we couldn't keep our insurance unless we had a new power box installed at our cost... that was a $5000 surprise! Renting can be good in that you don't have to worry about all of that. Think of it as paying someone else to make sure you've got a fully functional roof over your head. Also, make sure that you have a detailed budget in place. Know what it costs to run a house ahead of time: our house is very small and costs us a minimum of $120 a month for electricity and water, not to mention natural gas ($70), water heater rental ($25)and home phone/internet bills ($70). Two-storey homes can cost upwards of $200 a month for electricity alone.
Rent to own can be a great option, but make sure that you're getting value for your money and not overpaying. It might be worth waiting another year until you can afford the house you want rather than rushing it.
In the meantime, there are ways to build credit. Cell phone bills, if paid regularly, are a good stepping stone. So is a secured credit card, where you give the company a certain amount of money (like $500) and you get a credit limit equal to that amount. Spend a reasonable amount and pay it off each month, and you'll build credit.

Q: I'm in 7th grade and I have a D in math. I try really hard, and turn all my homework in on time. I don't normally study, but even when I do I still get less than 50% right on my test. My mom puts a lot of pressure on me for failing. Don't tell me to talk to her about it, because I won't. Also don't give me crap saying "we'll quit being stupid then" or "get a tutor" and "just talk to her about it brat" because I already have cutting issues. But I need help

I know you don't want a tutor, but some sort of tutoring is probably advisable at this point. Tutoring doesn't have to cost money; sometimes all it takes is asking a friend or a teacher.
If you have good school habits (and it sounds like you do), chances are that your teacher would be more than happy to help you. Teachers won't go the extra mile for someone who blows off homework, doesn't study and sleeps through class, but they will for someone who turns in all homework on time and shows some real effort.
At the very least, talking to your teacher can help point you in the right direction. They should know about resources that can help you to improve your math skills.

You need to see a doctor, pronto. We are not medical professionals and can't diagnose you over the internet.
If you're not sure if you're pregnant, wait until your first missed period and take a test. Often your normal hormonal cycle can make you feel pregnant. Don't panic until there's a reason.
As for the kidney pain, you definitely need to see a doctor. I had pain in my lower back along with vomiting, thought I was pregnant and turned out I had a kidney infection. You could have kidney stones, or it could be any number of things. Only a doctor can diagnose you.
Medical stuff aside, you should be talking to your parents. I know it would suck, but if your cousin is 32 and you're 15, he would have committed a crime by the laws of most countries/states. Your parents might be mad for a while, but it would be out of concern for you. Even if you don't end up needing an abortion, you still need to be screened for sexually transmitted infections and to have regular gynecological exams now that you're sexually active. If you do need an abortion, you won't be able to get one without your parents finding out. In any case, you will probably want your parents' support while you deal with the aftermath of all of this, and they would want to be there to support you. Don't shut them out right now.

Q: Hello, I know this is probably a bit dramatic, but I'm nervous about going back to college and I need some advice.
I am 26 hears old and I haven't gone to school since I was 22. I dropped out after the fall 2009 semester. If I'd graduated in four years, I'd have been done in May 2010, but I know that wouldn't have happened even if I'd stayed in school. I don't know how much longer it's gonna take me to finish, but I still want to go back so I can improve my life and accomplish my dreams.
I don't want to sound like a cry baby, but sometimes my life is so boring I can't take it. I have a loser job and I've never done anything that great or noteworthy. I've GOT to do something to improve my life and keep me from being a loser forever. Not to say that anyone who doesn't go to college is a loser, but not having a degree is the only thing standing in my way of doing the things I've always wanted to do.
I plan to get a job at the museum that my university owns, which I think will be fun. I love history and I've always loved that museum. If I get the job, I'll get free tuition and be allowed to leave work to go to class. It's a great deal and I think it alone will make my life more interesting, but I'm nervous about going back to school.
I'll be going to school with people much younger than me. The freshmen this year were SIXTH GRADERS when I was their age. The seniors were freshmen in high school. What are these people going to think of me? That I'm some bum in her late 20's that's screwed around so much in the past 7 1/2 years that I STILL haven't managed to get a bachelor's degree? Or that I'm so stupid that I can't get one? Most people think I look young for my age, so my classmates may not even know that I'm that much older, but what if they do?
Nervousness isn't the only thing I'm feeling, I'm also excited and anxious to make my life more interesting, but I don't want my nervousness to get worse and make me back out of going to school. I don't think it will, but I'm still worried. Has anyone ever been in a situation like this? If so, what did you do?
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
I've basically been in your situation. I started college in September 2012 at age 25, after a long hiatus due to medical issues. It's been a ride, but I can tell you that it's worth it.
You're going to notice some huge differences between you and your classmates. Chances are that now that you've been working for a while in a dead-end, minimum wage job you have a lot of incentive to work hard, get fantastic grades and excel. A lot of the 17-18 year olds I was in classes with didn't have that drive. If mommy and daddy are footing the bill, and you're just getting a taste of freedom, why would you care? Because of this, you'll get a lot more out of your education than you would have had you started right out of high school.
Yes, you might get some weird looks and it may be difficult to make friends at first. You won't have the "typical" college experience, and you probably wouldn't want to anyhow. What will happen is that you'll connect with other mature students (believe it or not, you're not the only one making this decision!) and you'll make some great friends with common goals in mind.
You also worry about being labeled as "dumb"... well, that happened to me, at least until the first midterms happened. If people do make the mistake of underestimating you, you'll be able to prove them wrong, no problem. You also have life experience that these kids won't have yet. You've already made the stupid teenage mistakes, and they'll be stuck navigating all that plus school. You have an advantage here.
I'm now halfway through my 3 year program, and it has been well worth it. I've found a group of students that I work well with who are mostly a little older than the norm. It was rough for a while getting back into the academic mindset, but knowing that there's a better future for me than dead-end retail jobs makes it worth all the struggle.

Q: Okay, so I took eight 500mg Tylenol &' I'm afraid something is going to happen. The reason that I did this was because I really wanna get high &' I have no weed ... So that is what I did now I'm afraid. Please tell me what to do!! Also, is there another way to get high? Oh, I'm 15 &' weigh 103 lbs. I'm a girl. Thanks.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
First off, we can't tell you how to get high. It's illegal, and we could actually be prosecuted for doing so.
Tylenol will not get you high. Taking a high dosage can do you serious medical damage. You should really be seeing a doctor even if you feel okay right now, because even though people usually don't show symptoms right away the dosage you took can cause organ failure or even death, with symptoms appearing 24 hours or later after ingestion.
I know it won't be fun telling your parents you took too much Tylenol. It would be even less fun being rushed to the hospital in an ambulance as all your organs fail.
In the future, don't take random pills to get high. Find ways to get yourself engaged in life without drugs. This sort of behaviour can kill you.

Q: i find it offensive and disrespectful when somebody calls me a little liar it really made me mad when my stupid younger brother said that to me but he has already passed away in 2010 also ive been called that sevrel times by other people makes me want to snack them on the mouth for calling that anyway this question is for Ninjaneer only hopefully you will get it as a private question .

If you send a question directly to my inbox, I'll get it as a private question. It will appear in my advice column after I've answered it, but the only way someone will see that is if they look in my column directly.
It sucks when someone calls you a liar. Not being believed is frustrating and can make you feel helpless. The big question is, why are you not being believed? Is there a history of untruthfulness? If that's the case, then it can take time for people to regain trust.
If it's just because the person doesn't feel like believing you, then there's no mature way to "make someone pay" for calling you a liar. The only thing you can really do is hold your head high, knowing that you've done the right thing. If other people don't want to believe you, that's their problem. No mouth-smacking required.

Keep in mind that as you grow older, more young children come into the world. While you see the cartoons as old and boring, these kids haven't had the chance to watch them yet.
I can't say why the Nickelodeon executives decided to keep one over the other, though.

Q: Ok so not to long ago I asked a question about what is wrong with my computer, but got a response that i need to give more detail sohere it is. The model number of the computer is DCNE. I also need to tell the order of the beeps and so the -`s will mean a pause in the order. So the order goes 1-3-2. I hope you can help me further now that you have this information. Thans again and have a nice day.

I was the one who told you to post again with more information.
From what I can tell, there is no 1-3-2 BIOS beep code for Dell computers. However, there is a 1-3-1-1 beep code. This code indicates a DRAM refresh error.
Rather than typing out instructions, here's a forum where someone with the same problem posted, and the solution given to them. It seemed to have worked, at least temporarily.

Q: I am 52 and have decided to 'reinvent' myself. I have been in retail management for 25+ years and have hated every minute. I've regretted both NOT going into the military and NOT obtaining a college degree. Last year, after much debate, I decided to pursue college again (I have taken courses hear and there, but no degree). I want to do something more fulfilling, to help others, and to make a difference. I have chosen social work, specifically in the school systems. My questions are; am I wasting my time? It will take about 3+ years for a BSW and an additional 3 more for an MSW. Not to mention the money. Although there are hundreds of companies listed on the AARP website that seek out employees over 50 (in my case it will be 56), but I am really concerned about having a degree in hand yet no one will give me the time of day.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
In addition to the excellent advice that the others have given, I'd like to add one thing:
Much as we would all like to be able to pursue our dreams, sometimes it just isn't feasible. For example, I would love to go back to university after a long illness prevented me from completing my post-secondary education, but I just can't afford the tuition.
As adults, we have to make decisions that take into account not only what we want, but also whether it makes sense or not. Make sure that you take into consideration the rather unromantic logical arguments for and against getting the degree you're looking at.
This includes:
- The money you'll lose by not being able to work full-time for 6 years
- The cost of tuition / student loan interest
- What your salary will be after graduation, assuming you find a job in your chosen field.
- What your salary would be if you continue in your chosen career path.
- If you have a spouse / partner, are they on board with your decision?
There are lots of ways to reinvent yourself, and I would always suggest furthering your education as a great way to do so. There are ways that cost little to no money, and while they may not catapult you into a new career, they can provide interest and variety in your life.
Other options include taking courses at a local community college or taking free courses online using Coursera or another free university level course provider.
Another way to get you the path to helping others is volunteer work. It doesn't have to be soup kitchen duty: if you want to get involved in children's lives, why not volunteer with Big Brothers / Big Sisters, or help out at a kids' homework help program? There are lots of ways to help out in the community, and it doesn't necessarily mean the total upheaval of your life.
Whatever you decide, in the end it's your life. Only you can make the right decision for you, and don't let anyone else tell you otherwise.

If the website is performing an illegal function such as posting child pornography or acting as a forum for drug trading, you might have a case. In that scenario, you would have to go to the police and provide proof.
If it's just a website that you don't like where people have been mean to you, you won't have a leg to stand on. Heck, people have been mean to me on this site. If it bothers you, stay off of it. It's honestly that easy.

Assuming you're the same person who I've been speaking with, I have answered your questions several times over. He will get to it when he gets to it, and that's about all I can tell you. It will be easier for him to delete all of the questions that you asked if you have asked them all under one user name. In my humble opinion, all Christmas music is obnoxious. I worked in retail while I was in high school, and had to deal with months of repetitive, unoriginal, sugary Christmas music. I have to say that I'm glad I don't listen to the radio any more!
It's one of those things we have to deal with for a little while, then it goes away. Just join me in counting down the days until January!

You can delete your own questions. I did a search, and I can't find the question based on the information you gave me.
I don't have the power to 'block' questions, but I don't think it's necessary to bring anyone else in. The question isn't easily found, and it's not like it's hurting anyone. Not liking someone's advice isn't that serious an issue: even I've received advice I don't like! The key is to just take what you can from it and walk away from the rest.

My Personal Forum
My name is Amanda and I'm 26 years old. I'm currently studying electrical engineering. Armed with a fairly odd sense of humour and a sunny outlook on life, I'll take on just about anything. I'm also cussedly stubborn, which has its ups and downs. Things get tough sometimes, and I've never been one to run from it.
In my last 8 years with Advicenators, I've gone from honours student to failing out of university (and getting back on top again!), from single to married, from tenant to homeowner.
Until lately, I have been struggling with a diagnosis of bipolar disorder and OCD, which had basically ruined my life and taken just about everything from me. I'm thankful every day for every experience I've had because of this ordeal, because it's helped to make me who I am today. Things like that really make you appreciate what you do have. Now that I'm back in work and school and starting to become myself again, I couldn't be happier. I credit Advicenators with saving my life back when I was a teenager, which is a big part of why I'm still here.
I won't necessarily give you the answers you want to hear, but I'll always be honest and do my best to help.
