A few thoughts I've gathered from my teenage years (and being on this site for most of them!):
1. If you Google song lyrics, the song will come up 99% of the time.
2. Dress to fit your body type, and buy the size that fits. If you're a size 6, squeezing into a 4 won't make you look skinnier. It makes you look fat when you aren't.
3. You will never regret waiting to lose your virginity.
4. There is such a thing as a stupid question, but we're all allowed to ask them.

holy crap i ADORED the book growing up. im now 13 and i NEED this book for xmas cause it makes me so happy rememebring when i was like so young.. well yougner than i am now. but i cant find it anywhere.. on amazon people are selling it for more than 100 bucks! cuz we lost the book ages ago and i really want it.. but 100 dollars is a bit much. why is it so costly now? and give me links for where i can buy it or stores that have it in stock. thanks A LOT. you dont even know :)

I didn't see that exact title in the top results, but there were a lot. Plus, that story may well be in one of the storybook anthologies.
I highly recommend "What Do People Do All Day?" and "Cars and Trucks and Things That Go" if you can't find Busy, Busy World.

Hi, I accidentally spilled like an entire bottle of rubber cement on my beige carpet. I didn't realize it at the time, and it's dried now. There's no stain, but the carpet is... crispy? I'm not sure what to do- should I blot with water? I just don't want to mess up the carpet in an effort to make it better- my mother would have a conniption fit. Thank you all!

It's the best stuff I've ever used on carpet stains. It will get ANYTHING out. My best example is the better half of a bottle of blood red nail polish, dried. Completely gone, and the color/texture of the carpet was just as good as before.

Plus, the "crispyness" may also wear off over time. Rub a shoe across it for awhile, that may help :]

It's probably not a good idea, because things that are formulated to be used on your hands could clog the pores on your face. They also may be irritating and overpowering.

Yes, but you'll be driving under THEIR traffic laws. More restrictive times, for example, or passenger restrictions you didn't have in your home state, will apply to you despite having a license from that state.

Permits are different, though. Check with the individual state if that's the case.

Does anyone know about anything about when a person like to sniff everything? Like some people just like to smell things like money, paper and just weird stuff like that. Does anyone know anything about that?

Well, I always have to smell things before I eat them.

It's probably not a problem unless your life has to be put on hold because you haven't smelled everything in the room.

so i went to this website to get my dad a christmas present and i used a gift card i had gotten for my birthday to buy it. well i did it 2 times all the way to the end, but whenever i checked my balance, all the money was still there. but after i did it the 3rd time it said my card was expired. can i make a purchase even if i didn't have enough money on my card to pay for it?

Try and contact customer service. Your order may have gone through on the second try & used the balance. Otherwise you'll need to use a credit card or something similar.

I dated this boy for seven months, I was truly in love with him. We got into countless fights over other girls he would spend time with and definitions of cheating. Eventually I called it off. I've been miserable for the two months we've been apart, I haven't gone more then five hours without thinking of him. A lot of my friends despise him for the way the treated me at some points in the relationship.

Tonight I spent time with him, we went to dinner. It felt so .. comfortable being back with him. It was like things were finally back to normal, I even got butterflies. I think I'm still in love with it. Would it be stupid to try for a second shot at love?

If he cheated on you, and treated you like something stuck to the bottom of his sneakers, he doesn't deserve another chance. Why would you want a relationship with someone you're always fighting with and doesn't treat you like a person? It'll only get worse. Granted a relationship will have its disagreements, but you shouldn't be fighting constantly over stupid things.

Honestly, walk away from this guy and don't look back. You could very easily do better.

I have a Logitech Webcam, it's a circle shape, and it's blue and white.


Well, when I got on webcam, my boyfriend could put me on Fullscreen? and I don't know how to do it on my computer, or on the Logitech window, it doesn't say anything. Not even when I'm on it, it doesn't say I can? Just Small and Large view, and it's on the Large, and it's not even big, or fullscreen.

How can I put it on fullscreen? Or even can I? Or just my friends?

A lot of times if you right-click on the video as its playing there's a "full screen" option. Or you could look it up in the instruction manual, or go to the "Help" section.

Somewhere in the code there's numbers for the width and height of the video. Reduce each number by rougly 25% and the video should be smaller :)

I dont get it.. like for example, Elvis Presley, Bob Marley, John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix, and a ton of other rockstars.. like why do they feel the need to get so drunk and take so many drugs and other crap to harm their bodies? then when they die the fans show all the support.. and yea its dissapointing.. but its like.. why do they have to do it? ive asked someone on youtube and they just said like its a custom for rockstars to do that kind of things.. but thats crazy. i mean they certainly know they could die from doing stuff like that too much? also other celebrities like marilyn monroe, or amy winehouse and other current celebs.. or infact everyone in general. drugs. alcholol. smoke. i just freaking hate it.. i dont get why people do it so much and i dont want them to cause its just a waste of their lives!!! its been bothering me for a while.. i mean is real life so pathetic they have to do that? and how do people get peer pressured into it? im 13, and i could never see myself doing anything like that, its just disgusting. but some kids get pressured.. but how the hell can you be pressured to do nasty things like that? they need to get some self respect and learn that you can make other friends. luckily in my society that kind of thing doesnt happen or atleast i've never heard of it.. not in middle school or around my friends and family. i only have 1 uncle that smokes.. i dont see him that much but the next time i do i'll try to get him to stop.. cause its just terrible. :/ its just messed up. and so basically my questions are

I've always thought that they would have had these problems regardless if if they were famous or not. Like when Owen Wilson tried to commit suicide. Ordinary people do that all the time. He's in the public eye, so EVERYONE knows about it. Teenagers get busted with pot in their glove box- happens ALL the time. Lindsay Lohan does something like that, and BAM! Tabloid frenzy.

Stars like Elvis, as far as I've heard he was using legal drugs to stay awake, and fall asleep, and he eventually overdosed. Happens to regular people too. It's sad.

So to answer your questions, no one really knows why anyone does anything... But regular people drink for various reasons and sometimes become addicted. They drink socially with friends, they think it will make their problems go away, etc. etc. I imagine that since celebrities and rockstars are people too, they are susceptible to the same things.

& it really sucks that Kurt Cobain died. His daughter lives with her grandmother, actually. Because Courtney lost custody for a long time. I think the Foo Fighters would have started anyways because band members often do side projects even when their regular band is still together. I know that the Goo Goo Dolls do that all the time. It's a shame though, Nirvana was an amazing band.

lol sorry, my details probably haven't been telling you much about it to find out if i am or not. okay, me and my boyfriend has safe sex, and we check if the condom broke and all that stuff.. if it leaked or whatever. and it never broke or leaked and stuff. last night it broke, NEAR my vagina, not in it though. once he took it out, he hit my lip that's near the vagina.. i call it lips cause it looks like a mouth. lol but yeah, it hit the lip and the condom broke, and he didn't stick it back in me. he took it right off, he said that nothing got on me, and he did not cum. he said it was surpisingly dry. and told me not to worry cause he promised that i wasn't pregnant. becuase my boyfriend is safe, i mean SAFE. am i pregnant? what should i do? my period is supposed to be coming soon later this month, my period is weird.. it comes at different times, but i don't want it to be delayed because i'm worried. so am i pregnant?

It's unlikely but two weeks after you were supposed to get your period, take a test. There's always a chance, however slim. For now just try not to stress too much about it. Good luck.

i want to get a really nice hair straightener for christmas. something that works really well and lasts reasonably long. I don't want a CHI, or really anything above $80. what do you recommend?

Remington Wet2Straight or Wet2Style (only difference is the shape of the plates). You'll pay around 35-40 dollars. Ive had one for about three years and it works really well, just use it on dry hair.

I have lots of acne on my forehead, and my skin is also very unusually oily, so im going to the dermatologist this month. I dont leave the house without foundation and powder and stuff becuase my skin is so horrible. Lately my makeup has looked really like caked on and un-naturual. what are some good foundations and powders that look very clean and natural (not cake-y) and do a really good job covering up? thanks!

Mix your foundation with a little bit of moisturizer. I do this during fall& winter especially, and it helps your makeup go on more smoothly. Don't be worried about moisturizing only skin, just use an oil-free formula.

An excellent powder is Covergirl TruBlend Naturally Luminous Loose Powder with Minerals. It goes on easier than pressed powder and won't "stick" to flaky skin like pressed powder can.

My face..I don't know in my eyebrow area it's kinda like dandruff but on my face which I guess is skin falling off because it's dry.

You might tell me to moisturize my skin or put lotion on it but the thing is, my face is really oily AND really dry! =/

I do wash my face a lot but i reduced it to 3 times a day and it still isn't helping. I'm scared if I put lotion on my face it'll get even more oily.

It's really gross and distracting, some of it getting stuck on my hair and bangs, just gross.

Reduce washing your face to twice a day. You're doing it too much and overstimulating your pores.

Moisturizer won't make your skin more oily- just get an oil-free one, Clean&Clear makes good, inexpensive moisturizers. It'll help balance out your skin. Plus, YOU control where you put it- so put more on dry areas, less on oily areas.

Moisturizing will help with the flaking/peeling too.

say someone got drunk at ten one night and didnt drink anything else after, what time would they be sober at? and like does going to sleep make a difference in how long it takes? and does how much you drink affect it

Everyone's body processes alcohol differently so there's really no way to estimate it. One drink makes your BAC (blood alcohol content) go up to .02 (on average) and the legal limit for 21+ is .08 anything besides zero is illegal in many states if you're under 21. So don't drive after you drink ANYTHING, ideally.

(Those numbers are for Massachusetts but most states are similar)

And if you're drinking a lot(or at all really) make sure someone sober is keeping an eye on you. And nothing helps you truly sober up besides time. Coffee & cold showers may make you FEEL more awake and alert but you still have alcohol in your body.

One thing that doesn make a difference is eating beforehand. Your body will metabolize alchol more slowly if you've eaten.
