uisforukelele answered Saturday December 1 2007, 11:26 pm: ohohoh, washing your face dries it out! don't wash it more than 2 times per day! and also, when you wash your face so much, it makes your face produce more oils (fact). that's because washing it dries out your face, and your skin overcompensates by producing oils. moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. it will feel gross but it's better than having a dandruff face. the oil is trying to help your skin so don't wash your face as much. natural oils are good for you- oils from your hands are not good to rub on your face. before you go to bed, don't wash your face as vigorously (if you normally use a washcloth, don't) and then moisturize heavily. when you wake up, it will probably be better. in the morning, wash your face (also not as vigorously) and then apply a little bit of moisturizer to the flaky areas. also, to help speed up the process, you might want to try an exfoliating facial scrub (but never in the morning), if you just happen to have these things lying around your house. MAK answered Saturday December 1 2007, 6:59 pm: I just wanted to add something to everyone else's answers: the oil your skin produces is to moisturize your face, so the more you wash your face, the more oil your skin will produce (if you tend to have dry skin). So don't be afraid to moisturize, it will help with the oiliness!
heyimcaro answered Saturday December 1 2007, 5:05 pm: yeah, i agree with everyone else- don't wash your face so much, and you DO need to moisturize it everyday. after you wash your face/take a shower in the morning, put on the moisturizer and let it sink in. then continue with your normal routine.
try clean & clear like everyone said, or, this sounds weird, but johnson's baby lotion. it's clinically proven to be mild enough for baby's skin, so that means it won't irritate your skin any more. and it doesn't make it oily, either. (: [ heyimcaro's advice column | Ask heyimcaro A Question ]

kiran answered Saturday December 1 2007, 2:30 pm: I think you may be washing your face to much, it would ruin your skin and pores, so maybe change it to twice a day instead. You could put moisturizer would work too, you could find oil free kind. Like the other person below me said, Clean&Clear works really good, I would also suggest that. I hope everything goes well for you! [ kiran's advice column | Ask kiran A Question ]
LM answered Saturday December 1 2007, 2:11 pm: Reduce washing your face to twice a day. You're doing it too much and overstimulating your pores.
Moisturizer won't make your skin more oily- just get an oil-free one, Clean&Clear makes good, inexpensive moisturizers. It'll help balance out your skin. Plus, YOU control where you put it- so put more on dry areas, less on oily areas.
Moisturizing will help with the flaking/peeling too.
