I do not understand IP addresses at all. What are they for? How can you track someone through them? I know everyone has one and they are used for internet purposes. I just don't know what purposes or why someone would want to know someone else's. This all arose when I saw something that said when you go in the advicenators chatroom (I believe using the CGI thing) everyone can see it. I wasn't sure if that was good or bad. So can someone please explain to me what this is for?

Ok well every time I try to download fonts I'm able to download them but I can't use them. It doesn't show up in my microsoft word when I want to type something, like when you scroll down the font names it's not there. Any way to fix this? I'm saving them under windows/fonts but it still isn't doing anything. How can I fix this?

Click on your Start menu, go to your Control Panel, once that opens double click on fonts and the fonts window with all your installed fonts will open. Click file and scroll down to "Install new font..." and a dialog box will appear called "Add fonts". Then you select which drive you have downloaded the fonts to and then use the folders to the left to move to the folder where the downloaded fonts are located. You should then have a list of fonts, select which ones wou want to install then click okay.
If this doesn't work there's a good chance that the program that you are using does not support that type of font.

My cousin's family invited me to go on a cruise with them to Cancun and Cozemel. I really want to go but if my cousin and I spend at least 2 hours together, we don't get along. She will get mad at me and I will have no one to hang out with because her dad's side of the family is coming, too (I don't know them because we're not related) But this is a once in a lifetime opportunity...Should I go or no??
If I was in your shoes, I'd definitely go. This is an opportunity, not only to see other parts of the world, but to get to know other amazing people as well. If you and your cousin are not getting along after two hours, there will be other people on the cruise besides your family. Mingle! Make lifetime friendships! AND it's OKAY to enjoy things by yourself at times.

i happen to work as a janitor in a mental hospital, and there is many a stain that penetrates my jumper suit and stains me clothes. i know how to deal with the usual: urine, feces, vomit, but i want to know how to clean out those unidentified disgusting stains, or U.D.S's. I need to know how to clean off blood most importantly.

To clean blood:
Take item of clothing to sink and immerse in cold water, NOT HOT (hot water will make the blood set). Swish item of clothing for a minute or two and then start scrubbing with a regular bar of soap. Try to do this as immediately as possible, the more the blood sets the harder it is to come out.
Other stains:
Depending on the color of your jumper, you could use bleach. If it's a dark color then I would try to treat the stains as soon as possible and hope for the best.

I think I have a problem. You see I am terribly clumsy so I bump into stuff,fall, and trip alot. As a result I get really bumped and scratched up. My problem comes in with the healing. While my wounds are healing I enjoy the sensation of the pain. I enjoy it so much that when they scab over I tear them off so I can feel the pain all over again. I don't bump into stuff on purpose. But I do enjoy the reprecussions alot. 21/f. Is something wrong with me? Could this lead to a cutting fettish?
My littlest brother, he's twelve, has the same problem. We found out that he has obsessvie compulsive disorder, since it had gotten to the point where he would hide in order to pick. As far as it leading to cutting, I wouldn't begin to know. I would hope that is not the case, but if I was in your shoes, I would talk to a psychologist if it gets any worse.

I have this Quantum Fireball 10 gig hard drive that I have been having serious problems with. Whenever I have it in my computer, as soon as I boot my computer it starts clicking and when Windows actually starts, it's really slow. I think it's skipping, but I'm not sure, what can I do do fix this. Only answer if you can think of somthing to insult me with or make me laugh...or if you can actually help me here.
If it's a Ten gig hard drive it's probably ancient. And since your computer writes and erases things to the disk continuously after a while the disk goes bad and can no longer be read. There's no way to fix the problem with the disk... disks just wear out. You either need to buy a new hard drive with the same specifications, upgrade your hard drive with a new one that is better but can also run on your system, or get a new computer all together.

I want to plant nice flowers in my backyard does anyone know some mystical flowers i can plant im really spirtual and plant like.
Personally I like plants and flowers that are easy to take care of and some back every year (perrenials). That way I don't have to plant something new each and every year. But if you live in a temperate climate, like Southern California, Florida or Texas, annuals might do well all year long and you wouldn't have to worry about replanting every year.
I also like plants that I can use in everyday life, like herbs. I have a lovely patch of mint and spearmint which makes a lovely foilage as well as soft purple blooms. The bees and buttlerflies love them. Beware though, they need their own patch because they grow like weeds and will choke out anything else that you may have planted there.
Along with my patch of mints, I also have a couple of rose bushes as well as many beds of flags. Flags are an orchid type flower that bloom in the spring and come in many lovely shades. I currently have yellow, orange, white and two-shaded purple ones.
For the fall months I have mums, which also come in a variety of colors and return every year. They bloom in early fall and remain until the first frost of the season. They are a bush like plant and fill patches nicely.
If these are the type of plants you are interesting in, I would suggest talking to a nursery or one of the big hardware franchises. That way they can make more suggestions than what I can offer.

My roommate has been in the hospital for almost a week now. It started out as a tooth ache, and turned into a ballooned up face. It's something that's usually pretty routine, and fixed by a week or so of penicillin and a root canal, but the penicillin din't work and it only got worse very quickly.
She feels really ugly because of her face, and has been worrying because of her tooth. Instead of just a root canal, they may have to pull the entire tooth, and it's a tooth near the front of her mouth.
I've been to see her off and on, her family has been coming, even as far as a few states over, and her boyfriend has been at the hospital pretty much non-stop so that she isn't alone there.
I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas of things that I could do for her to make her feel better.
Sounds like your doing well so far. I'm sure she appreciates the fact that you have come to visit her often and that she has lots of people that love her and care enough to come see her.
Keep the visiting going. If you want to get her a gift, I would suggest stuff she can do while she doesn't have visitors:
Books to read
Crossword puzzles
Mad Lib books
Coloring books
All the other suggestions are nice, but from personal experience I would prefer something I can do to take my mind off things when I don't have people there to talk to me.
I hope your freind gets well soon and keep visiting her, letting her know you care enough to visit is such a wonderful gift in itself.

You do not "need" a circle to perform rituals in either witchcraft or Wicca. But, in like every religion, there is a point in doing the whole ritual. Casting a circle and doing the complete ritual tunes your mind and your body to your selected task. Is it necessary with all rituals? No. Simple candle magick does not require you to cast a circle. Simple binding spells do not require you to cast a circle. It all depends on what kind of ritual you are performing and whether or not you are an actual Witch or Wiccan or a fake that sees this as an easy means to an end.
I suggest you research both a little more before you do anything.

If you have your threshhold (locate in your account settings) set to NOT view columnists with a rating of one or two you won't be able to see the answers they give.

Ive tried several web pages to get this sorted so im giving you guys a go.
Everytime i try to load internet explorer i get an error message saying there are problems with an add on. Ive tried disabling the add on and a system restore but its not working. Im currently having to use a different browser but thats causing problems as some programs wont run this program as a default browser so i need my explorer back up and running
please help!!!
You might want to try uninstalling IE, download the newest version of IE and install it. You shouldn't have to do a system restore if one program isn't working, unless it's due to a virus/worm.
You can find the newest version of IE at: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.mspx. You might also want to try their support pages (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.mspx) to see if anyone else is having this issue. It's a good chance that someone else is having the same issue and that Microsoft has the solution you are looking for.
Also, make sure you are running virus protection and that your virus definitions are up to date. You might also want to consider downloading some free adware (lavasoftusa.com) and spyware (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html) removal programs and running a system scan with those as well. There is the possibility that you have adware and/or spyware programs that are hijacking your browser.

I've recently switched from msn messenger to trillian and I do prefere this. I have read through the manual on trillian's website, but found no help there. I have downloaded a nice skin with no problems, it's only installing it that bugs me.
There doesn't seem to be some handy installing file in the download that just needs to be clicked. The name of the skin in question is Logika, in case that should matter.
Once you download a skin from Trillian it should be either in a Zip file or be an executable. If the skin is in a Zip file, unzip it to a temp folder and read Readme.txt for instructions on how to install the skin. If it's an executable, all you have to do is double click the file and it will install.
Once you have it installed, you would open up your trillian program, click File-->Preferences-->Skins--> and then choose which skin you wnat to use from the drop-down menu,

I've been working on my resume, but there is not a whole lot to it. I've basically had two jobs, and have volunteered at three different occasions. I want to find something in the animal care/veterinary field. But I'm still going to school full time, and am only finished with one semester of a Veterinary Technology major.
If I apply to every Vet clinic in the area, should I make a cover letter for each place? I'm most familiar with one certain clinic, because I've been the janitor there for a while, so I had no problem making a cover letter for them. But I don't really know what to say about all of the other clinics.
Should I just hand a resume in to each place, and hope for the best? Or should I make an individual cover letter for each clinic?
Is there anything else that I could do to spice up my resume?
I feel you should always make a cover letter for each and every job you are interested in. This shows the company that you are thorough, actually want the position and why you want the position. But don't make it long and grand. Make sure on the actual resume that you include your schooling, all prior jobs, and anything you've done relating to the field/position you are applying for.
As far as spiciness goes, you never want to overpower a resume. Just remember: action keywords, write in phrases (not sentences), information pertinent to the job, proofread, importance and recent events first, and if you want to talk about it in the interview make sure it's included on the resume.

my friend doesn't even know where he wants to go to college. he's a junior in high school and let's just say he's not doing all that well and his GPA is the proof of that. he doesn't seem to care about this school stuff but he's constantly getting stressed out. what should i do to help him in this situation?! or what should happen?!
Only your friend can help himself. All you can do is be supportive of his decisions and be there when he needs to talk about it. It's perfectly normal for a junior in high school to not know what they want to be when they grow up. And if he cared enough to keep his grade point average up, he'd keep it up.
And who says he has to go to college immediately after high school? He might decide to work for awhile until he decides what he wants to do with his life. Until then, going to college is a pointless endevor that would lead to his eventual downfall.
From personal experience, waiting until you are ready to handle the responsibilities of a college career helps in the long run. It makes you better prepared to go after what you want and make it happen.
And even if his GPA isn't the best, there are such things as community colleges that let almost anyone in as long as they make a good GPA while there.
