I am 15, and want to make some money.
I live in TX, if it helps. ( I don't know if there are specific child labor laws for TX or not )
Anyways I babysit whenever possible and my name/number in the neighboorhood "Teen Listings" for babysitters, dogwalkers, ect and I said I was a babysitter. But people don't call very often, because they don't like to call strangers and I don't blame them.
I'm at a loss of things to do to make money besides babysitting and odd jobs for neighbors! Help! (link)

The only thing I can really think of is to ask your parents' friends, your family members, etc., if there are any small jobs you can help with at their places of business. Where I live, the age you have to be is 15. I'm not sure what it is in TX, but you should definitely find out. I hope this helped a little? Good luck. :)

I recently found out that one of my best friends has eye cancer. If it spreads to her brain, which it probably will within the next year, she'll die. a few red highlights would make blonde hair always look good (strawberry blonde). i dont think you should dye it at all, because being blonde is nice (unless your not natural?..) or you could get a few, REAAlLY thing, barley noticeable brown highlights, because they make blonde hair look blonder

I'm sorry to tell you but the only job you can probably get when you're 14 is babysitting or running errands. Most places hire you when you're 15 or older. I think it's required that you have to be 15. I know, it sucks when you need money and you can't find any jobs or whatever. You can shovel people's snow, babysit their kids, and you know, jobs like that. I hope I helped. Good luck with earning some extra cash:)

I've had the same best friend since third grade and we're now in the tenth grade. Lately it seems like I'm looseing her. She's been hanging out with 2 of her other good friends and she always makes plans with them instead of me. And since shes been hanging out with them shes tried smoking, and the other night she called me at 2am beyond drunk from some guys house that she didnt know (the other 2 girls knew him though) and i dont know what else they were doing that night. i know one of the girls is a regular smoker and smokes weed as well, and my friend always tells me how she thinks its disgusting and how if i ever did it she would be so mad at me (it meaning smoking cigarettes or pot)and im wondering why she doesnt complain when they do it as opposed to me. And i was also wanting to know maybe why she doesnt want to hang out with me as much anymore.

I'm really sorry. I can tell how broken hearted you are over all this.
This is the most common advice I get asked though. If you have time, read back through some of the other questions like yours and the answers I've given. They all have a slightly different story but they are basically about friends going down different paths and how painful it is when it happens.
This is one of the hardest parts of highschool. Even I had a bff that I lost in HS. We did everything together in middle school. We had all honors classes and athletics together, we dressed alike, etc. But in high school, she decided I was a prude. She started having sex and hanging out with a completely different crowd. At first, I wanted to hold on to our friendship so bad that I even considered conforming to her new lifestyle but I just couldn't go through with it and I had to let her go. It was so weird to have this good friend suddenly seem like a stranger to me. But today, I see how her life turned out and I know I made the right decision to let her go because it's not the life I would have wanted for myself (BTW - She seems quite content with her life so she probably looks at MY life as undesirable as well)
Going down different paths is inevitable.
Change is part of life.
Sometimes it seems horrible when it's happening but follow your heart and follow your OWN beliefs and you will find happiness (it just may not be where you expected.)
Stay true to your own self and find others with your common beliefs and you will have no regrets.

I'm 5'2" and weigh about 105 pounds. I am perfectly aware that I am NOT overweight. If anything, I am a few pounds underweight, and have no plans to lose weight. I have never been self concious about my weight.
Why do these girls who weigh even less than me and are taller than me insist on obsessing about losing weight!? Day after day I see these questions. "I weigh 50 pounds and am about 6 feet, am I fat like OMGZ?!?!" (Obvious exaggeration, you get the point.) What is wrong with everyone??... I don't want to hear that BS about "oh the media blah blah"... everyone blames EVERYTHING on the media. Why are all these little girls so freakin' impressionable?! Some people dont as self concious as you do. Some people may truely believe they fat all on there own. so in order to them to "look good" loosing weight seems to be the "perfect solution". Not every body is as lucky as you to feel so concious about themselfs.

Me and my girlfriend have been seriously dating for almost 3 years. 8 years before I met her, she became friends with an exchange student from Belgium. She had a big crush on him, however nothing romantically happened. Last week he was in town and needed some 1 to go to Orlando Florida with him, my girlfriend and her brother agreed to go with him. I wear makeup to hide ugly scars on my face. With my makeup on no one ever knows that I have them. Only my family has ever seen me without my makeup. My boyfriend of one year is getting fed up with me. He cant accept the fact that he cant see me as sporadically as he'd like. I feel almost a bit sorry that you feel the need to cover up "your ugly scars" but i know how it feels without makeup you dont feel "pretty" as you could. Same with me, only i have major acne, really bad and i used makeup to cover it. If he says he doesnt care what you will look like without makeup, on..then you should show him, and tell him how they got there. if he is able to go a year a with you, and gets up over scars on your face, he isnt work so much trouble, for you. I bet you he will love you still, but show them to him. good luck
