After writing an essay about something we liked were gunna have to speak in front of the class for a timed 5 minutes about it. And i'm scared out of my mind. Whenever we have to talk in front of the class i start talking fast (which doesnt help me reach 5 min easily) and like moving my legs back and forth. Its weird, cause usually i'm really up beat and talk real loud and stuff like that. But yeah i'm super nervous. And suggestions that would help me not be so scared? (link)
|
I have the same problem speaking in front of groups. I get very nervous. My advice to you is to practice speaking in front of your friends and family. Ask them to tell you the positives AND negatives of how you presented and spoke to get you used ot speaking in front of a group. The corrective input will help you try and perfect your presentation and the positive feedback will raise you self-esteem and confidence to make you feel more comfortable giving the speech.
Hope I helped, and hope your presentation goes well! =]

my sound just....stopped working. like it's turned up and everything but it won't work. i restarted my computer but it didn't do anything...does anyone know what it might be?? 5's (link)
|
If your computer is a desktop one, check your sp[eakers and make sure they are turned on and their volume is up. If that doesn't work or you have a laptop make sure that it is not set to mute. To do this right click on the speakerphone type thing in the bottom right hand corner (where the time is), when you hover it should say volume, and then hit open volume control and change the settings, or unset it to mute if that's the problem.
Hope I helped!

I have an audiovox 8910 cell phone from verizon. It has a cracked LCD screen so verizon won't replace it. It got smashed a few days ago, and now it won't take or place calls, and neither my main screen or lcd screen works, at all. I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to fix this. I've taken the phone apart, and it took and recieved a few calls then quit working again. If you have any sites that can guide me through a step by step process to try and fix it or have any suggestions, please let me know.
Thanks! (link)

Unfortunately I think you'll have to pay to have it repaired professionally.
Sorry. =[

You can pick a picture you like and find a layout you like and then change the background picture url to the url of the picture you found. Or you can search "playboy myspace layouts" on google. You can also go to createblog.com and search "playboy".

I have an account on myspace. About three weeks ago I went to log in and I got this error message:
Sorry! an unexpected error has occurred.
This error has been forwarded to MySpace's technical group.
I can do anything on the site as long as it doesnt involve logging in. On the other hand if I get on my mom's computer or any other computer there is no problem logging in. I emailed the tech support at myspace over a week ago and still havent heard back. Its driving me crazy. Please, anyone with any ideas, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks. (link)
|
Gove it some time and then try logging back in in a little bit. Sometimes it takes a few minutes, or hours and sometimes it takes a few days before the message goes away.
This has happened to me a numerous amount of times. It usually goes away in a little while.

when answering a question why does age play such a big factor. like for instance that 16/f that wanted a baby. i saw that everyone was like your too young, but who says that she wont make a great mother. and know one knows her living situation or money or anything.. it really doesnt say people just assume they know. it tells her to wait till shes 18. i bet there are 18 year olds out there that are much worse off than she is or wont be as good as of mother as she is. so maybe she is 16.. do you think we should just make assumptions about people like that? or would it better to know more about the person before answering? (link)
| |
Age is a big factor when giving advice because the more you know about the person and their situation the more accurate advice you can give. Your advice is your opinion. So if a 14 year old is saying she's ready to have sex and is asking whether she should go for it or not, if you don't know she's 14 then you could be telling her she should because you assume she is old enough to make that decision.

Ive noticed that every one talks about something called AIM..what is it? and how do i get in on it? (link)
|
First of all, AIM stands for AOL Instant Messenger. It allows you to instant message your friends (as long as they have screen names also)
You pick a screen name (like a username) and a password, that's your account. You have a buddylist that you add your friend's sns (screen names too) and you can instantly instant message them as long as they are signed on. You can sign up for it and find more info at www.aim.com or www.aol.com. After you sign up for an account you can download it or just sign in everytime at aim.com or aol.com.
Hope I helped! =]

i was wondering how people get their picture to make it look like they're on a magazine. like this: http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=14972070&imageID=659634619&MyToken=202edfd5-af20-4230-909f-4555e7114616
does anyone know how to do it?
thanks! (link)
|
I know this advice isn't exactly helpful, but if someone you know has done that, then ask them if they can teach you. You may need a special download or software like photoshop.
Like I said, it might be helpful to ask the person who did it if you know them, or are friends with them.

I was just wondering..how do people get on the "Experienced columnists".
For example, if you go to Browse Columnists and go under the little tab thing that says "Experienced Columnists",how do people get on there? I'm just wondering. Thanks. (link)

You have to have answered at least 100 questions. And I think you need to have good ratings as well.
|
|
Everytime I post a question, it gets deleted because it's rated level 1 by the moderators. But I have perfect spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Why does it keep being deleted? (link)
|
Go to the help pages, and then go to the section on question ranking. This will help you learn about why questions are deleted, and how to ask questions that do not get deleted.
Hope I helped!

where can you get backgrounds. like, good ones, not the ones on this website. are there any other sites ? thankss (link)
|
You can use the backgrounds of xanga or myspace layouts, or any type of layout. You can also look up images on google or any image hosting site, (ie. Photobucket) for a picture and then just use that as a background image.
Hope I helped.

what is trichillomania (link)

Trichotillomania is when people have the impulse to pull out their body hair. I.E. Scalp hair, eyebrow hair, nose hairs, facial hair, etc.
If you need more info look it up on google!
Hope I helped.
(And don't listen to the idiot below. He doesn't even realize that a QUESTION needs a QUESTION MARK at the end, not a PERIOD.
It's just a question. Obviously they knew what you meant, and you got your point across, so keep asking questions however you want!)
|
|
Can people see the list of questions you asked? like on the side when your logged on it says My questions can they get to that and know who wrote it? (link)
|
The only way people will ever see your questions is if they know your username and password. Otherwise your questions are COMPLETELY confidential and nobody will see them.
Hope I helped, and hope that helps you clear out some of your worries =]

All of my About Me in my Advicenator profile got deleted!! It took me soooo long!!! Do you know how to get it back!? I'll rate supa good please. (link)
|
Unfortunately you'll have to re-type everything. Next time try to put it in a word document and save it in case it happens again that way you'll still have a copy of it so you won't have to re-type it.
Sorry. =[

um, what kind of bikinis could make my boobs look bigger. its not that im like flat, im just not pam anderson or anything. links would be great! AUTOMATIC 5s and thanks alot (link)
| |
Well, you could look up bikini's that are called "push up bikinis" (i think that's what they're called) They're almost like a push up bra. You can either look for sites online by using google or you can go to a website like Victoria's Secret, they'd most likely have them.

Why is everyone on this site a whiny 13 year old Emo girl wondering if the boy in their Geometry class likes them? And why are they so willing to follow the advice of complete strangers?
I rate 5's when I damn well feel like it. &hearts
(link)
| |
At the age of 13 girls are very insecure and need help with "big issues" that seem like they vould make or break their life, and reputation. Therefore they ask the question because it can be anonymous on advicenators, and they may not feel comfortable talking to their friends about it. It is really their own choice whether they follow the advice or not. They don't have to, the advice is just an option, or suggestion.
|
When I rate people, I generally give all 5s, maybe a 4 or 2, and a 1 if someone is completely rude or didnt answer the question. Well..Let's say I ask a question and I get 5 answers. One of them is horrible, so it gets a 1 rating. The second is okay but kinda bad, so a 3 or 4. The next 2 answered the question and werent jerks, but the 5th wrote a 5 paragraph answer and included links to websites and personal experiences, etc. Should I rate the the 3rd and 4th people 5's like the 5th person, or should I give them fours because there was a better answer?
NOTE--Im rating all fives on this question no matter what (link)
|
My advice is to rate each question one at a time, just based on whether the question was helpful. Maybe one person included links and things and was really helpful and detailed, but you didn't need all of that to get your question answered. So if you feel like the people witht he shorter answers were very helpful, give them a 5 as well. Sometimes people can't get everything out in 1 or 2 sentences, and some people may go straight to the point. Therefore, just because an answer is longer, doesn't mean that it's any better.
The choice is really yours. It's really how you think it is fair to rate them. If you think that the long answer with links is more helpful, give them a 5. And the other 2 answers a 4. If they were all just as helpful, (even if the other 2 had less content, then give them all 5s)
Hope I helped.
|
|
Would you give somebody a rating like a 1 if for an example you wrote something to try to help the questioner person but somebody below told them the say thing but in different words? (link)
|
I understad your dilemma because it isn't fair if people are just copying someone else's answers and getting a 5 because of it. Unfortunately, you don't know whether the person looked below or not. So they may have given you great advice, but someone else said something very similar before them, and then they are getting a rating of 1, even if they deserve a rating of 5, which isn't really fair to them.
It's really your decision because you're the one who asked the question.
Hope I helped!
