I would avoid it if I were you. A girl in my cool did it, and to be honest it looked a little strange. Pay for a personal dying kit. At most they're about $20. Believe me, it'll be worth it.

ok, i just got a razr and it has different, erm, icons then my last phone. what i mean is that when i'm looking at text messages, i don't know what the little symbols next to the message mean. for example, what is the envelope with the white I in a red square mean? also the little green arrow in a square, and a white box with black arrows around it? i think the check box in the square means received and read, but i'm not sure. if you have a Razr and know what i mean, please help!

The white I in a read square means it's an important message. Your friends can set the prority of the message when they text you if it's important.

The little green arrow in a square means it was sent, but the person hasn't read it yet.

I'm not quite sure what you means about black arrows around a text, but a black arrow in the box means picture message.

And yes, the check box means it'd been recieved and read.

Chances are she likes you. Was it recent that you asked her out? If yes wait for her answer. She probably will say yes. And if she doesn't, it's not the end of the world.

Ok, well theres this boy that I liked a lot and he usually hooks up [makes out] with a lot of girls, and then leaves them but we hooked up for the first time in a movie theater, and he still wanted to see me again and everyone said that he must really like me if he still wants to hang out with me. Don't kill yourself. Don't even think about killing yourself over a boy.

Unfortuantely, if he hooks up with girls and leaves them, he'll do it again. It sucks that he lied to you, but people get reputations for reasons. He's all of a sudden being really weird because now he wants to hook up with your friend and leave her. It's a vicious cycle. My advice? Forget about him. He's no good for you.

Now about the other guy. Do you like him? Even a little bit? If the answer is yes you should probably accept his offer to go out. It would be a nice chance of pace from the guy you were just with. If it doesn't work out, you'll move on. And who knows? It could turn out to be something great.

Hello, thanks in advance for any advice.

One of my best friends' mother asked me to "babysit" her daughter (my friend's sister), but since she's in 7th grade and i'm in 9th (this fall), it wouldn't really be like babysitting...as much as just hanging out because we're so close in age. Shes coming over here, I think, because her brother will be home (my friend) at their house, and it would be weird. She wants to let her daughter out of the house for awhile, I guess, because she and her brother don't get along too well when theyre home alone together. So she's coming over around 1-2ish until 8.

Aaaaaanyways..............to my question. What are some good things to do with a girl that age? Last time we just played cards and watched TV. but we were at her house - I don't really know how to be a good...."hostess" I guess.

Well, when I was in 7th grade, I was pretty much boy crazy. So if you have magazines like CosmoGirl and Seventeen, read those together because they have a lot of stuff about boys. Let her go on the computer. Give each other makeovers. Paint each others nails. Listen to music. Go through your yearbooks together. Pointing out people and telling weird stories about them is really fun =].

This is going to sound really corny, but try making a college of pictures and write little memories you have together. It's inexpensive and since you made it it'll mean more. I'm sure he'll love it.

Also for a fun birthday activity go on a picnic. It'll be, again, inexpensive, and it'll be nice to spend alone time together.

ok .. so i'm a swimmer & have been since i think august??i mainly joined bkuz i thought it'd help loose those couple of pounds that i needed and just i'd be leaner. You cannot target weight loss. When you lose weight it comes off of all body parts. However, you can direct muscle gain. Tone up your stomach doing crunches and your thighs by doing squats.

Finding a job is friggin hard. It sucks too. Don't you wish money would grow on trees? Anyway, here are ideas:

I've known this guy, let's call him A. Then I have this friend that's a girl, let's call her B. I've known them both since kindergarten and A never acknowledged me, while B and her other friend just made fun of me and beat me up EVERY RECESS. It happened right in front of the teacher every time, but the teacher blamed me :( They'd pull on my hair, I wore a ponytail on each side of my head and they'd both take each side and pull on them. I used to try and hide from them every day because I was so afraid. Now I'm going into 8th grade when Summer's over. In 6th grade, I became the best of friends with A, and I was friends since first grade with B -- shocking, I KNOW! So anyways, B transferred over the Summer before 7th grade. I missed him the entire time. I sent him an e-mail, I IMed him frequently, but almost never got a reply. I tried to stay in touch, I REALLY DID! But whenever I IMed him we'd either talk for a minute or he'd just sign off after I said hello. I never got a reply from that e-mail back. He said hi to me months ago at a hockey game, but he only pays attention and IMs B. And they talk all the time! B knows it bothers me. A LOT. Well... now B just treats me like crap. When we were waiting for the bus, I ran up to her and said hello. She looks all sad every morning, says nothing to me, and turns away. But when my other friend, (Let's call her C) gets to school she gets all hyper and happy and expects me to be happy with them.

Ever since kindergarten, nobody ever liked me. In 4th grade, A would make fun of me all the time, so would a lot of other people. But it really picked up in 5th grade. All the kids would make fun of me until I cried, one of the ones that did it the most was A! Then in 6th grade, none of my classmates really liked me and the 8th graders made fun of me because I was younger than them. Now B is making fun of me again and C just laughs. In fact tonight, we were all planning to go to the movies but they went without me! I'm so upset.

I don't want to re-live this freshman year, or 8th grade for that matter. I just don't know what to do! I want new friends! Do you think it's mean of me to say that? Or do I deserve new ones? I'm just tired of being treated like crap ALL THE TIME!

First off, forget everyone you mentioned in your question. They aren't real friends. They don't care about them and you don't deserve them. I know it hurts, but they aren't good people.

Now what you need to do to get new friends is be outgoing! Next year talk to as many people as possible to see you click with. Try to talk to people who you don't know so they won't make fun of you. Keep as far from A, B, and C as possible. Most importantly, don't let anyone take advantage of you again. Walk with your head held high and people will automatically notice you.

i've been wondering about this.. i mean im a kid myself, 13, and like i see all these older people that complain about little things they dont like about themself. those people go on to makeover shows, shows where they change their wardrobe and stuff (what not to wear), and even get plastic surgery. now im really against plastic surgery.. unless for medical reasons, but anyways im wondering why kids cant say they are ugly in a way, too. adults think its soo wrong when kids say that when they do it too! and why arent there any kid/teen makeover shows too? i mean i think theres some for teens, but why not preteens or people around my age? that would be cool.. and some people dont think thats right, then why is it right for adults to do it too? now im not saying plastic surgery or anything for the kids, but like.. you know makeover stuff that could improve their confidence and stuff.

its really annoying in other ways cause like theres no tv shows about kids my age that arent like cheesy or anything. why are they so cheesy? and why do they all wear make up when not alot of kids even use make up that much. like in hannah montana.. their make up looks so professional.. yeah like any kid that age could do that everyday. and in that and other shows they always have alot of different cool outfits and stuff when thats not really how it is in real life.. well for some people but not alot of people. why are tv shows like this? i watch some of them anyways but if something different came out i'd like it. oh and the show on MTV called Made, why is it only highschoolers. i'd like to see an episode with someone from middle school or something.. and more shows about middle schoolers than high school high school high school. blechhh.

The reason adults flip out when teens and preteens say they are ugly is because they don't want them to loose confidence. Lack of confidence can turn people, espically teens to drastic measures, such as eating disorders and worse suicide. I know you're thinking "We're not that stupid!" but during the teen years the part of the brain that affects judgement reforms itself, therefore, we don't think before we act. Also fun little hormones are running around our brain making the slightest comment feel like it's the end of the world. As a result, adults sugar-coat everything about the apperance of teenagers as to keep them from being depressed. Also, everyones a hypocrite, so they think they can say that they're fat.

TV is chessy because the media sucks. They try to make everything glamorous. And baby, life ain't always too glamorous. Furthermore, most TV shows are so issue of the week. The problems are usually solved in a 22 minute period, not including commercials. Which brings me back to the media. They try to make everything look sparkly and perfect because it sells, which makes them money. Which makes them simply dandy.

Not many shows are made about middle-schoolers because they generally have less problems than high-schoolers.
