Would a college like straight A's and B's at a public school or B's and C's at a Private school better??
And do colleges like people who go to private schools better???

Thanks!

Most colleges will look at your grades, so it won't matter whether you went to private or public school.

im 15/f. i turned 15 july 25th. i've been getting my period since i was 12. i dont know why but ever since i was on the verge of turning 14 goin on 15 i've been feeling depressed before i get my period..its crazy i could be happy all month and forget about my issues but at the end of the month it's like i feel so bad and miserable. and i dont have a really bad attitude and i think im too young to have PMS. i hate that feeling when im miserable cuz all i do is cry and just bring my self down but at least i can blame it on my period and try not to be so down but i just wanted to know does anybody relate to this.

I relate. I'm a completely different person at certain points of my cycle. Like you said it is just your period, you're a teenager and your hormones are all over the place - which obviously doesn't help that that time of the month. As you get older you will probably find that your moods even out, but it's likely you'll always feel slightly depressed before your period. You might want to try Evening Primrose Oil, which is supposed to help with PMS. You can buy it in capsule form from most health shops.

so i started to wear thongs and i can't really find any that are comfortable is there any that are comfortable and if there are which ones should i get

Thongs are generally uncomfortable when you first start wearing them and after a while you'll get used to them. Try to opt for g-strings rather than thongs as the back part is much thinner and therefore much more comfortable.

I really need some new music for my iPod. I like rock, pop, punk rock/pop, and some hip-hop. Thanks so much in advance!

I really reccomend that you visit http://www.pandora.com

It's a free website where you create 'channels' and submit bands that you like, the music generator then finds similar bands/artists for you and plays a sample song. It's a really great way to find new music so give it a go.

what was the name of the boy band that sang that song that went like "new kids on the block had a bunch of hits , chinease food makes me sick"

The band was LFO (Lyte Funkie Ones) and the song was called Summer Girls. In future, you can look up song lyrics on google or a music search engine before asking here.

Heya, its my birthday next week and ive been planning a huge party at my house. Im 14/15 and have already informed about 40 people about my party and Ive asked my parents if they will stay out for the night (from about 6pm to 11pm, not ALL night)and my brother is coming down from university to supervise it. People i know are bringing booze and i know someone who is bringing a drum kit round and my brother has 2 guitars that we're all going to jam on, and im going to supply food and soft drinks..but i keep thinking ive forgotten loads of things.. I want to know:

1. How to convince my parents to the idea of leaving me for 4 hours with a bunch of 40 teens
2. How to persuade them to let a lot of them sleep over
3. Any tips on throwing partys to remember!
4. Whether to supply back-up DVDS incase it gets boring
5. How much to spend on food and what foods go down well..for bout 40 people
6. How to break it to them if I cant have that party.. :-(
7. What to do about the neighbours
8. How to control trouble if it happens

I have loads more i cant remember but any hints n tips wud be very helpful ty

Rae x

My friend recently had a huge house party and his parents weren't keen to leave us in the house. In the end they compromised and went to their friend's house close by for a few hours. They could hear us because they were in the garden so they were there to supervise but they weren't around. If that's an option then suggest it to your parents. If not then get them at a good time and talk to them about it. Assure them that you will be responsible and that your brother can deal with any problems. The key is to compromise. So if they say no to to leaving you from 6 to 11, suggest that they supervise people coming to the party then leave at around 7 and come back a couple of hours later then stay in a seperate room until the end of the party. The same goes for sleeping over, suggest it to them and if they say no then ask if you can have less people. You might not get exactly what you want, but it's better than getting no party or people sleeping over at all. You also have to be careful about the alcohol. If you decide to mention it to them, then assure them that you won't be getting drunk and neither will your friends. And stick to that promise, because the worst parties are the ones that end up with drunken teenagers getting into fights. Also make sure they know that all valuable stuff will be put away in an upstairs room and that you will clean up any mess yourself.

Whenever our neighbours have parties, they usually come round a couple of days before and let us know. Tell your neighbours that the noise will go down no later than 12. By warning them you will be showing that you are being considerate and responsible, which will not only keep you neighbours happy it will also show your parents that you are mature enough to have the party.

As for keeping trouble down: Always know who is invited. If possible, have someone on the door with a guest list to make sure that no uninvited guests arrive. Make sure that no one's getting too drunk, a couple of drinks are okay but if someone looks like they've had too much then make them go home - but obviously ensure they get home safely. If fights or anything break out then have your brother on hand to throw the troublemakers out immediately. If you go with a zero-tolerence policy then there will be little/no trouble. Keep all rooms you want people to stay out of locked and put 'Private' signs on those doors so that people know they're out of bounds. This will also keep couples out of bedrooms.

Good ideas for food are the obvious of pizza, crisps, sweet and savoury snacks etc but another original idea that I've seen is to have a giant pot of curry in the middle of the table and have people help themselves. If you're not a fan of curry then this can work with other dishes too. If all else fails then go with the pizza, it's always a winner. Also provide several huge bottles of soft drink and make sure you use plastic plates and cups so that nothing gets broken.

I've been to parties where we've danced and hung out then watched a DVD and they were really good. So definitely have DVDs around to watch if things get a bit dull. Other great party ideas are having different music genres and moods in each room so that people can choose and there's something for everyone. For example at one party I went to they cleared out the loft and put crazy pattern projections on the wall and played loud music so that everyone could dance, in another room the music was quiet and there were lots of armchairs for chilling out and in the front room they had a snooker table. Another great idea is to have a seating area in the garden with a gazebo and blankets and cushions out as that provides a great area to chat and chill out. You could also think about having a theme/fancy dress party as they are always fun. Have a few of your friends go round with a camera and take pictures of people so that when the party's over you can do a photocollage to remember the night. Or buy loads of disposable cameras and make sure that there's a few in each room, get people to take pictures on them and leave them with you, that way you'll have tons of photos. If you've got one you could even film it on a video camera. No matter what idea(s) you choose, always make sure you get your friends to bring CDs so that there's a good selection of music to choose from.

If it does turn out that you can't have the party then just be honest with them. I honestly wouldn't worry about it.

Good luck with it though, and happy birthday! I'm 15 next week too :D

hey how do u do the smokieye look?

ps. i don't want it to look like its to much on my face since its kind of small.

There are loads of ways to do the smokey eye look and it's all a matter of your personal preference, but this is the way I do it:

If you use concealer/foundation/powder/blusher etc then apply all that first. I always prefer to do my eyes last but if you tend to be messy with your eye make-up then do them first, clean up any smudges then do your base.

You will need two or three eyeshadows, preferably they should be shades of the same colour (good ones for smokey eye are black, grey, brown and dark purple). You will also need a natural coloured eyeshadow for the base coat.

Start by apply the natural colour over your entire eyelid, but don't be tempted to go right up to your eyebrows. If you prefer you can use an eyeshadow base instead, but I like to use shadow.

Next apply your first colour. For best results use your lightest shade first (but obviously not the one you used for your base coat). Apply it over your lid and just above the crease (this is where the top of your eyeball ends and sits in the eye socket). Don't worry if it looks messy because you can sort that out and blend it later on.

Take your next shade of eyeshadow (it doesn't matter which one, it can work with the darkest and medium shade) and apply it into your crease. This is where you need to start blending. You can use either a soft eyeshadow brush or your fingers to do this. With either the brush or your finger, smooth out the two colours so that they blend into each other and there are no harsh lines. Don't be tempted to over blend though, the darker colour still needs to look darker.

Now we need to do the eyeliner. Some people like to use pencil on it's own and some use just shadow. Shadow does stay on longer and looks better with this look, but it's up to you, you might like to use both. If you're using eyeliner, apply it straight to your lower waterline. If you want to add shadow, then take a thin eyeshadow brush, load it with colour and gently run it underneath your eye. It doesn't matter about neatness because we're going to smudge it slightly to give that 'smokey' effect. Preferably a specialised smudging brush is best for this, but any soft thin eyeshadow brush will do. Take the brush and gently blend the shadow out and into the liner so that it looks smudged and sultry. This is also the point where you should apply liquid eyeliner if you want to, apply it only to the top lid and feel free to add a small flick at the corners if you want. However this step is optional and takes a lot of practice to get right.

Finally, clear up any mistakes and apply mascara.

ive been wearing eyeliner for a reallly long time.
like 3 years.

when i do my eyeline it looks great,i do the smokey eye look then, then when i get to school, or during the day
at the inside of eye is seems to smear down and everything, ive tried soo many different brands too, nothing seems to work.
any advice on how to get it to stop doing that?

i know eyeliners are going ot smear, but mine does it really fast, eveyrone elses doesnt seem to smear...

I used to wear a lot of eyeliner and I found that the best way to make it stay on longer and not smear was to do my eyeliner, then go over it with a thin eyeshadow brush in black eyeshadow. It also makes the smokey eye look even better.

Another option is of course liquid eyeliner, I wear it on my top lid and it never ever smudges. However it's really tricky to get right, especially on your lower lid and will take a lot of practice. Having said that, it's definitely worth a try.

What is up with these 13 yr olds and getting pregnant/asking for advice about fingering and sexual things like that. wtf is our world coming too. When I was 13 I was still playing coodies with the guys next door or riding my bike around the neighborhood. Gahsh by the time I turn 30, 5 yr olds will be worried about sex. WTH

Years ago, children were strictly disciplined. There was no such thing as TV, and when there was there wasn't all the stuff that we see. The soaps and dramas we see would have horrified them. There weren't teen magazines or the internet and sex was a taboo subject. However, as time went by people got access to all that stuff younger and younger until we got to where we are today.

The media plays a HUGE part in how kids mature. I know for sure that I never knew about a huge chunk of issues and problems with the world until we got the internet. And I never knew all about the wonderful world of sex until I started reading teen magazines. I'm not saying that the media is the only reason that we're maturing faster, people's general attitudes have just relaxed a lot. Parents aren't as up tight about letting their children access all that stuff, it's now seen as a positive thing to education teens about sex as young as possible so that they're not at risk from STI's, pregnancy and even sexual abuse.

Another problem is that the general phyisical development age is getting lower. When I was about 8, the average age for girls to start their periods was 13/14, but now it's as low as 11. When people go through puberty, they devlop a lot of sexual feelings and more often than not end up doing something about them. So the younger people reach puberty, the younger they become sexually active. And of course, once you start your period you can get pregnant, which explains the 13 year olds asking about pregnancy. I live in Britain where we have the largest number of teen pregnancies in Europe, there are 10 and 11 year olds getting pregnant - it's crazy. When I was 11 I was so immature, there's no way I would have been able to raise a child, I still couldn't now.

So I'm at school today, my 3rd week as a freshman, and a couple of seniors are showing me how to knock into the vending machine to get free stuff. I try it myself and a drink falls, and some kid grabs the drink before I get to it. I'm very angry about this now, because I spent my time and I got the risk of getting expelled and he took the drink. I'm thinking of hurting him on monday. What should I do? Just forget about it this once and be quicker next time? Please help.

I think you're being ridiculous. You got away with it, just forget it. You shouldn't be doing it anyway. Leave it and don't do it again.

My boyfriend and I just broke up, and now I'm very depressed, I don't know what I should do to make me feel any better. Tomorrow's the first day of school and I don't wanna look too depresse and everything. What would I have to do to try to forget about this?

The fact that it is the first day of school for you tomorrow is actually a brilliant opportunity to get over your ex. Obviously it will be very hard, but think of it as a fresh start. You are now single and you can go into school tomorrow with your head held high and start over. I'm not suggesting you pounce on the first boy you see - rebound relationships are not a good idea. However you can focus on meeting new people and getting to know them.

It's hard to get over a relationship, I've been broken up with before and it's awful. But after a while you move on and find something new. I know right now it seems like that won't happen, but I promise it will. You're allowed to be unhappy, but put on a brave face tomorrow and get involved in the new school year.

ok so i turned 16 in august and my boyfriend is about to turn 18 in december...so will that make us...like illegal?

You live in America, and I believe that in most states the age of consent is 18, so if you are having sex then technically it will be illegal.

what does it mean if someone says.. "are you a lightweight or can u hold your own" in alcohol reference?

Being a 'lightweight' means that it doesn't take much alcohol to get you drunk, for example, you pass out after one or two beers. If you can 'hold your own' then it takes a lot to get you drunk, pretty much the opposite of a lightweight.

Hi I was at a was at a sleepover and my friends dared me to cut my bangs, and i think they look horrible! my mom and my aunt say they look so cute, that is just because i had them when i was like 7 so can you give me any advice on how to make them look better? If you do....thanks a lot!!

Fortunately bangs/fringes tend to grow out pretty quickly. I cut mine a little too short and it looked fine within a couple of weeks. In the meantime you can use clips and hair bands to disguise the problem.

I heard that Steve Irwin the crocadile hunter guy was killed.

I don't know if that is true or not true?

Can someone tell me if it is true?

If the crocodile hunter is really dead then how did he get killed? I am so sad if it is true.

Yes, sadly it is true.

He was filming in the Low Isles, Queensland near Port Douglas, north of Cairns, Queensland, Australia when he was stung in the left of his chest by a Stringray, which resulted in a cardiac arrest. He was taken by helicopter to Cairns Base Hospital, but was announced dead just an hour after the attack.

It was a bizarre freak accident as Stringrays rarely attack people. The BBC even announced that this was only the second known fatality in Australian history from a stingray attack.

I know there's nothing we can really do baout it, but like me , who else hates the ads on this site? It makes it so hard to see questions and answers. Pisses me off

Advicenators is a free website, but that doesn't mean that it costs nothing to run. The ads help to keep Advicenators up and running. If you really cannot stand them then invest in a paid account, it doesn't cost much a year and the ads go away, along with other privileges. If you are interested then you can find the link under the Miscellaneous section of the left sidebar.

I need help on fashion. I usually wear baggy clothes and I dont know how to mix n match things. I like cutesy stuff but when I wear it, it seems weird.

Is there any websites with fashion pictures? So maybe I can try to copy that look. What are some stores that i should go to? urban outfitters?

On the blogging website Greatest Journal there is a fashion community called Fashionesque, which has loads of fashion tips and ideas. I don't think you have to be a member to see the entries, but if you do then it takes two seconds to create an account and join the community.

Can you get aids from kissing someone. I know its usually passed on by blood but what about saliva?

No, you can't. You can however get an STD through sex and oral sex.

What is the type of English accent that is used in the Peter Pan movies? Cockney? Also, if you know which one it is-is there a good site that would tell me the characteristics of it and how to speak it?

The person who said it is 'just a British accent' is talking absolute rubbish. How can you have a 'British accent'? Britain is made up of 4 countries, each country has a different accent and each country has different accents within it.

Like Isis said, in Peter Pan there are many different British accents and it is hard to teach someone how to speak it. Watch the movie, pick out a character and listen to how they speak and the characteristics of their voice. That way you will be able to pick it up easier than if someone instructed you on how to speak it.

what's the deal about men with big feet? why

Men with big feet are supposed to have big penises. I have absolutely no idea why. It's not true all the time either.
