Hey, i just ordered an iPod mini off of Ebay, but i only have windows 98 on my working computer. So theres no way i can acess iTunes through my computer, but I do have another computer that has Windows 2000, which is can acess iTunes. But the problem is i have a virus on it, my dad said he would take it to be fixed but i want to try to restore it first. Can someone please summarize how to restore my computer?

The computer should have disks for rebooting the computer. They usually come with it, because mine did. So, whenever my computer gets messed up with a virus, or whatever, I just restore it with the disks. It walks you step by step & then your computer is all fixed. Bad thing is, if you use AIM or Yahoo, you have to download the messengers again. =[

i'm a 15 yr old girl

this JUST happen.. i came home and EVERYTHING.. and i mean EVERYTHING in my room was completely rearranged, reorganized, stuffed in random places, moved across the room, just everything was completely wrong in my room. We just had new housekeepers come for their first day and all i could do was cry at the sight of my room. I really did.. i just cried, it's already late enough and it was going to take me so long to fix my room and put it back to normal. My mom apparently LOVES the new maids ??? i told her to come upstairs and i showed her how everything was wrong. all she said was "they just wanted to make it look clean" LAKDJFKSJ... there are no words for me to describe how upset i am.. am i over reacting??

the only reason i feel so upset is because my room is MY place.. it's the only place i EVER feel comfortable, i don't even like when my family walks in my room, it's just MINE and it wasn't even messy in the first place its just like the housekeepers had the sudden urge to throw random stuff into empty shoe boxes and put them under my bed ...??? so i've spent the past HOUR re-doing my room... i'm not even kidding, i told my mom that i don't want them to clean my room and that i will do it from now on and apparently she won't let me do that because she doesn't think i'll actually clean up...how do i show her that i don't need a maid? and am i over reacting??

You're overreacting just a little. It was their first day, and they made a mistake, so it's kinda forgivable. But, I understand why you're mad. I'd be mad too if someone came in and completely changed how my stuff was organized. Like you, & just about every other teenager I know, I want my room a certain way, and I keep it how I feel comfortable. Well, I guess going to your mom was a bad thing because she doesn't understand how you feel. I guess you could leave a note for them, or you could keep your room SUPER clean so they'd have no reason to go in there anyways. =]

I have a teacher that's really mean. 4 some reason she just doesn't like me! But 4 some reason that's not new. I don't know what it is. I'm a great student and I get great grades in her class but she will find some stupid little punctuation mark that wasn't in the correct place and she will give me like an F. My mom and my friends mom are on to her because she has a problem with both of us and suddenly we've been getting better grades in her class

Another teacher just talks to me very rudly. She talks 2 everyone that have their hands up normally and I raise my hand and she literally yells at me 2 put it down.

I also don't have any friends at school. All the students trat me badly and as I'm walking down the hall people always give me bad looks and I just don't understand why! I'm the nicest person ever. I'm really nice to people. My quinces was a few months ago and I invited my whole grade just 2 be nice and there was this life size manican that my mom had made for me and someone took the "hair" or the wig w/e u call it and it was found in the toilet of the girls bathroom.

Why are people so mean to me? My mom says that its because I'm very pretty and people just get jealous. Not to be modest or anything but I dnt find myself unattractive. But there are other pretty girls in my school why hate me? There is this girl in our school who is an abercrombie and fitch model why can't they not like her? I've been in the school since second grade... And this year is almost over.... So u can already say that I've been there for practically nine years. Why are these people like this?

Aw, don't worry about it. People are just naturally mean to others for no reason. Sometimes it makes them feel better about themselves to hate others, or to make others feel bad. Or, they're just jealous because you're smart, and pretty. People are rude, and teachers make easy judgements because they think that just because they've been teaching for 20 years, that they know everything in just a day. I understand it's hard to do sometimes because people really get to you, but just ignore it. People are just ignorant and stupid. =] It'll get better sooner or later. And if it doesn't, well then fuck them.

Wow, Right, I am 13 years old...this is going to sound terrible but i have had sex wit this boy. GR. Me and that boy are no longer together :( My period was suppose to come on the 14th of March...did it? NO.. But then on the 1st of April.. I began to bleed. I thought it was my period. But now im starting to think differntly because the blood comes out on the tampon..but not the pad. I have been very depressed lately trying to figure out wat to do. I am very scared. First of all, you shouldn't even be having sex. You're 13 years old. And you knew you wouldn't be with that person forever. So that's your mistake. Anyways, if you're really all that scared, go take a pregnancy test. But don't get an abortion, 'cause you like you said, that's murder, and I'm totally against it.

i'm traveling to nyc this month and i don't know what to pack! what's the weather like? i know there's highs in the 60's and lows in the 40's, but i don't know abou the humidity/wind factors. What do you suggest? Sweaters or short sleeves with a track jacket?

Well, I live in New York. Not NYC, but, in New York. I live in Rochester, so I can answer this...sorta. Well, our weather is sorta up & down. It can be warm & sunny one day, and then totally cold and rainy the next. So, if I were you, I'd pack jeans & hoodies. But also short sleeves & capris. Typical stuff, for typical weather.

Okay. I was supposed to get my period at..eh..around the 20 of last month. obviously i haven't. :( and i'm a bit confused why.

I'm NOT sexually active, nor have I ever had sex.
I'm 13.
But I can't say that defensivley because there are many people my age sexually active.

This is completely normal. At 13, the woman's period is never regular. It's gonna be irregular the first couple years. Sometimes you'll get it, and sometimes you won't. It's nothing to worry about though. Don't freak out when you don't get it. Being sick could have affected it a little. But trust me, it's nothing to worry about. You'll get it eventually, and everything will be fine. =]

I'd say it's just a stereotype. None of those things have anything in common. Black men aren't bigger than white men. Asians aren't small all together. I think whoever started these stereotypes are moron. And there's no possible way it could be true unless whoever came up was a serious prostitute and slept with every guy in every ethnicity.

My boyfriend and I are making wedding plans and we're debating whether to invite any of my relatives. You see, my entire family, with the (possible) exception of my father, loathes my boyfriend and makes no secret of it. Throughout my four-year relationship with him various relatives of mine have talked about him behind his back, illegally looked up confidential information about him and spread it around, made up outright lies about him in an effort to alienate me from him (my favorite slander was that he was riddled with VD and lying to me about it), and basically tried to ruin his career and his life. My mother admitted to me that she "hated" him -- I invited him to a family Christmas party a few years ago and he was told to "get lost" and was all but thrown out of the house.

Naturally, I don't really care to have these people witness our marriage. Certainly my boyfriend doesn't want it. He ought to be nominated for sainthood for being civil to them all this time, even when they were insulting him to his face. But he doesn't like their actions any more than I do.

The thing is, though, my family hates my boyfriend and not me. They adore me -- they just express their love in a very destructive way. I know if I refused to invite the lot to the wedding, they would be deeply hurt by the slight and would probably never forgive me. One solution is to elope, thereby inviting no one. But my boyfriend's family has been wonderfully supportive and we want them to witness our nuptials.

Part of me thinks: who cares if I hurt my family, they've hurt me horribly by their cruel behavior over the last four years. But I am not without heart and, as I said, they do love me. Just in the wrong way.

Do I invite them and hope they are nice when they show up, or do I not invite any of them, thereby assuring their hurt and consequent complaints for decades?

Wow, this is tough. Naturally, I wouldn't care so much if my family didn't like my boyfriend, because personally, I have to be with him, not them, so it's not my problem.

But, this is you. Well, since your dad seems to have no problem with your boyfriend, talk to him about it. Tell him that you're considering not inviding the family because they've hurt you & the person you love so much, and you have no idea what they'd do at the wedding.

Personally, I'd invite them but, then just think, when the priest says "If anyone has any reason why the two should not be wed, speak now or forever hold your peace," they might just say something. And that's the thing I'd be scared of.

But, if you want, you can elope and do your reception privately.

I'd invite them though. I'd be hurt if someone in my family got married and didn't invite me. =[

I realy realy need some help. My friend has been cutting herself, and i don't know what to do to help stop her. She did stop, when she was dating this guy, she said "he made me feel beautful". I realy realy want to help her, but i don't kno how. I tried to get stop, but she won't listen to me. If she doesn't hide it, she wants attention. And you need to give her more. Just telling her to stop isn't going to necessarily make it happen. She needs to know you care.

Talk to her about it. Ask her what's been going on with her at home, or just in general. Whenever I used to cut, and my friend noticed, she wanted to help. And she did. Another girl got me help, and now I'm in counselling, and it really helps me. Because since starting it, I haven't cut since. Just talk to her about it, and let her know you care, and that if anything's ever wrong, and she needs to talk, to call you. Or, you could always go over there if she wants to talk face to face so she has a shoulder to cry on. And if you wanna get her serious professional help, talk to the school counsellor. When she finds out it's you who told, she might be pissed at you, but in the she'll realize all you ever wanted to do was help her because you care.

Ok. I'm a Christian, but I do not know the Bible cover to cover like some people do. I have 3 friends, who I love dearly, but they are just totally lost and I really want to save them but I have no clue as of how to do that. Like.. Ok.. here's their stories.

Billy 16-years-old: He's a terrible alcoholic who parties all the time and sometimes gets high but he is surely damned to hell because he has committed sexual immortality several times. He is one of those people who doesnt care about the Bible or God and makes jokes about religion at times. So I do not know how to talk to the guy.

Jessica 15-years-old: She's like my best friend but she's like never been to church. I've invited her before several times, but she always comes up with a reason not to go. And here lately we've lost friendship & she has lost herself to starting to drink because of peer pressure and she's became sexually active, so to say. And she's similiar to Billy, doesnt care.

Brittany 15-years-old: She's bisexual and she parties like every weekend and gets soo drunk & she cusses all the time but everytime I mention church or something of the sort, she cracks a joke & says something like, "Gosh you're such a goodie-goodie". And even though she's never had sex, she's did other stuff with girls and guys, so. I really want to help her & even though she goes to church often, she doesnt act Christian-like at all.

I really care for these people because they are like 3 of my best friends, but I have no clue has to how to help them. They are sooo young and if they were to die tomorrow or even today, they would go straight to hell & I really want to share my eternity with them in Heaven. So anyone with any advice, please help.

Okay. Don't try to save your friends. There's nothing people hate more than having something they don't believe in pushed on them. If someone tried to push a religion on me, that would truly piss me off. I used to believe in God, but seriously, do you know how unlikely that is? It took me a while to come to the conclusion, but I know now God is NOT real. And I'm sorry if that offends you, but that's merely my OPINION.

For Billy, don't tell him he's gonna go to hell. He doesn't care. He could care less. Just tell him you're concerned about his health and his state of mind. Tell him that's not the type of life to live, because it could really mess him up, and you don't wanna see him go young.

For Jessica, if she doesn't wanna go to church, stop asking her. If she's making excuses, that has to tell you something. Being sexually active, there's nothing wrong with that. People like to experiment, and it's a personal decision you have to accept, even if you don't like it.

As for Brittany, who cares about her sexuality? I'm bi, and athiest, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. You make think there is, and other people may think there is, but it's her own personal decision, and if she wants to be bisexual, then don't stand in her way.

I can tell they're so sick of hearing about church, and they're so sick of you trying to push your beliefs on them. Don't do it, let them be. They're why they are for a reason. Whether it be parents, peer pessure, emotional feelings, or just a personal decision. You HAVE to accept it. There are some things people hate, but they have to accept it anyways. I hate that some of my friends are ignorant, but I deal. It's just something you have to be tolerant of.

Just, don't try to save them. That's the worst thing you could do. Don't try to help/save someone who doesn't wanna be helped or saved. It's just not right.

I understand you wanna spend all "eternity" with them in "Heaven" but you can't save them if they don't want it. My suggestion to you is to give up on saving them, tell them about your concern for their health & well being, and be tolerant of who they are. Accept their decisions, whether you like them or not.

And, if you don't like this answer, too bad. You asked for advice, and I gave it to you. So you can rate me a one, or you could ban me, but at least think of it from their point of view.

I'm sure you'd hate it if an athiest tried to make you convert. Please don't put them through that same hell.

Well, it depends on what you believe. See, I used to believe in God, [I thought about it, and it seems unlikely, so I'm now an athiest.] and, the bible does state that being homosexual is a sin. But no person is alike, and no one can help his/her sexuality. Not everyone is heterosexual, that's just dumb. If you ask for God for his forgiveness, you will be forgiven. If you're doing this just to see what would happen, that could be a chance, but I doubt it. Don't pretend to be someone you're not, unless you really are gay/bi.

Okay there's this kid James who goes to my school. I see him as a friend but all my friends thinks he likes me. The thing is, he's not exactly what you would call friendly. Sometimes he's just really mean to me when I don't even do anything. Like this morning, my friend pushed me through a door after gym class, and now all he does is say "go run into the door" and at the end of the day I just said "Hi" and he's like "F**k you." Whenever he, or anyone, does this I get all upset sorta. I'll go "Jeez why are you so frickin mean to me?! I've never even done anything to you and you're still as mean as heck to me" When I do THIS he laughs like he was joking to begin with just to see me upset. But other times he's really nice to me. It's really confusing me.

Does he like me or not??

There are options.

1* He could be an only child, and not know how to treat other people with respect, especially girls.

2* He has anger problems, and takes it out on whoever's there. You being the person.

3* He doesn't actually like you, and does this on purpose.

4* He really does like you, but he doesn't want you to know because he's shy, so he acts mean to throw you off, and trick you.

5* Some days he likes you, some days he doesn't. He might be changing his mind a lot.

6* He could have bi polar disorder. Where, he could be totally nice one minute, and then a jerk the next. His moods could switch back & forth frequently, like you described.

7* He probably does like you, since your friends are telling you so, and since friends know a lot about you, they can sense these things way before you can. It's weird.
