I'm 15 and from Australia, and i really like a boy in my year. He is really shy but I'm pretty sure he likes me back, (friends have spoken to him, and he seems like he likes me) Problem is, his mum died earlier this year, and so he's obviously not in the mood for this kind of thing. He knows I know, I wrote him a letter and he thanked me. Since then, we have hardly spoken, we are both so shy! What do you think i should do?

Well, I would say just try to talk to him more. I know you're shy, but it's better if you talk face to face. I guess notes would be fine too, but, just try to talk to him more. And, I guess just be there for him about his mom. And when you finally think it's the right time, you should ask him. He needs someone there. =]

okay i wear a headband when i play basketball and i play evreyday.I play in the sun at the park then after a while I noticed theres a strip of my skin from the headband alot lighter then the rest of my face.What should I do to even it out without being embarrsed by the other kids?

Well, that's called a tan, and if you want it to look even without taking off the headband, apply some self tanning lotion to your forehead. It should work.

ok well i have been through many shampoos and conditioners and whenever i wear my hair down its soft but its just kinda knotty does anyone know something i can put in it for it not to be knotty?

When you go to the store, buy a detangler spray. It's in the same aisle as the shampoo & stuff. When you brush your hair, spray it in, and it'll keep it from being knotty.

Today in Life Skills, my school counselor told us girls "all 13-year-old boys care about is looks." (it's not a co-ed class) She also went on to say that 13-year-old boys only like girls with big boobs and a big ass. She said that they are very shallow, but the best thing for us to do is wait for them to grow up.

Is this really true? Do boys only notice boobs and butts on a girl and nothing else? It doesn't make me feel too good knowing that, because I certainly don't have a big butt and big boobs, and I'd like to have a boyfriend.

No offense, but, I think your counsellor is an idiot. Not all guys are the same. They don't just like girls with big chests, and asses. They actually look for personality too. Some guys are really shallow dickheads who don't care, and all they want is sex. But, not all guys are this way. Cheer up hun, she lied to you. Not all guys are the same. Some love personality more than looks, some love both, and some love boobs/ass. Besides, boys are immature at 13, but some are really mature. You'll find a boyfriend. And besides, you're 13, your boobs will get bigger, you're still growing.

Hey, I'm 15/m. There's this girl at my school that i've known for about a month now and I really like her, a lot. I want to ask her out, but today she told me that she was bisexual, and leans more towards girls because so far her guy relationships haven't been so well. I asked her if she still dates guys and she was like "Haha why?" and I just said "Hehe just wondering ;)" but yeah she seems like she wants to go out with me too and we seem to always be around each other during lunch or passing periods and such. We're going to a movie together on Friday, but we're getting there about two hours earlier so we can shop. Well, when you're talking to her, ask her if she'd ever go out with you, if she says yes. Pop the question & ask her out. The worst thing she could do is say no, but I'm sure she won't. She sounds like she wants to date you. I understand the whole thing about leaning more towards girls because I'm bi also, and guys can be pricks, so they make you wanna date girls more. But, you could always prove her wrong. Be the one guy that shows her that they're not all the same.

Well the happiest thing happened to me... I found the love of my life... I love his family his family loves me vise versa... But the only problem is he lives next door... Ya some people are like thats the tightest thing ever... But it is a hassle sometimes when i wanna go out with the girls and its like i have 2 sets of parents... One weekend i went to a party with my friends and i came home at 12:30 and his parents were all pissed cause he wasnt with me... I dunno... But i love him though... And his parents think we are getting married... They told him to wait till after graduation to get married and we have been going out for like 2 months? that kinda creeps me out... Talk to them about it. Tell them that you've only been dating for 2 months, and that marriage is too soon. Marriage is a nice thought, but not so early. Tell them how you feel, I'm sure they'll understand.

14/f I have been with my boyfriend since January. Whenever we go out, I can never eat in front of him. For instance, when we go to six flags together, I usually don't get anything to eat, just something to drink. Same with movies, mall, what have you.

Well. In about a month, we have a Semi-Formal dance coming up at school. This dance includes a catered dinner before they open the dance floor.

I'm afraid to eat in front of my boyfriend. I'm perfectly fine in front of most friends and whatnot, but I'm not the skinniest girl in the world so I think thats probably why I'm shy about eating.

Its not that I think my boyfriend won't accept me or something, because I know he's not at all like that -- but I still won't eat when I'm with him.

What can I do to resolve this problem?

I used to be the same way with my boyfriend. I was scared he'd think I was gross or something, so I just never ate in front of him. But eventually, I got over it. You'll get used to it, and you can't not eat in front of him forever. You're gonna have to do it sometime.

Aleast 30 min after lying down in bed anxiety takes control of me. The "what ifs" or negative thoughts fill my head. Tears start streaing down my face. No matter how hard I try to stop crying my eyes still fill with water. Positive thoughts try to gain control but the negative, insecure ones take over as if its supposed to be that way. My past comes back to me again the good and bad memories, but mostly the bad. Telling myself I cant dwell on my past-focus on present.I still feel liek i must cry to feel better. Not knowing why I cry at night for the smallest reasons really bugs me. I want to put an end to this all. It might not be hard at all for some people but the next day awaits, and I worry about the cool things to say, the right things to wear and so forth. I want to be normal and happy withmyself. Although it might just be the mood im in that brings anxiety to me,but I cant find a reason for such a cause. Hopefully Im not asking for to much....How can I fight this?

Seek professional help to stop the anxiety. I feel that way everyday of my life. And it's in a shorter amount of time for me. You need help hun, and I don't mean it in a bad way. Anxiety should not control you or your life.

I don't know what to tell you about the negative thoughts. Just be strong and kill them with positives. I know you're trying, but you must try harder. There are more positives than negatives. Trust me. Things will get better.

Well, just ice it, and don't do anything to straining for your hand for a while. The bruises should go away, and I can imagine that it's swollen, so if it is, it should go down in time & be okay before your tryouts.

I really like this boy at my school, he is a little older then me, right? and he has a girlfriend, I talked to him on msn, and I told him I like him. We got talking at we have so much in common. It's kind of wrong, in my perspective. I mean, put yourself in his girlfriend's shoes. Do you think she wants you and probably a million other girls to be flirting with her boyfriend? I'd hope not. Is it weird that me and my boyfriend don't call each other? He's called me once before to tell me he couldn't hangout. I have a huge problem with calling people. (I asked a question earlier about my phone phobia) His whole family knows about us going out and it'd be weird calling his house (Plus his parents are separated so I'd have to call both houses) We talk online which works a lot better for me, and he seems to like it better since he doesn't have to fear my dad picking up the phone lol. Plus we end up on the computer anyhow due to homework and stuff. I feel fine not doing it because we still communicate, but is it anything to be worried about?
