I have a 1 inch one that works well but you're probably better off with 3/4 unless you have really long hair.

I’m 14 and I’m really pissed because I have next to no decent clothes. I’m not exactly wealthy, but my family’s *far* from being poor. Okay, I have about 8 blouses that I’ve collected through the years, two skirts and two pairs of jeans that fit, and that’s it. My mom grew up in a really poor part of Asia and immigrated here about 15 years ago, but even still, she has no idea what teenage girls are like. I asked her to let me get a nice pair of shorts from American Eagle (which was $40) and she got really mad and gave me this lecture about how I should be thankful that I have any clothes at all because when she grew up, she only had, like, two pairs of cotton pants throughout most of her childhood, and how she breaks her back trying to support our family and I’m just being a greedy spoiled brat. She refuses to buy me any article of clothing over $30. What makes me even more mad is that she still buys $50 worth of earrings for herself (she gets loads of really cheap jewelry on those TV jewelry channels) when she doesn’t NEED any new jewelry, yet she won’t let me buy a $40 pair of shorts.

The worst part about all this is the other kids at school. I go to one of those expensive private schools and all of the other girls at my school who have entire wardrobes filled with those fancy designer clothes from stores like Abercrombie, Hollister, American Eagle, etc. I feel really ashamed next to everyone else because I don’t have many nice clothes at all. While all of these girls make monthly shopping sprees, I’m allowed two shopping trips a year. But even during these shopping trips, I can hardly find anything under $30 because nothing ever fits. Seriously, I’m way too skinny….my waistline is like, 22 inches and my hips are 27 inches. No, I’m not anorexic, it’s just the way I am. I don’t need any eating advice or anything, because there’s no way I’m going to diet and put on weight just to wear clothes. My pants size is 00 and my shirt size is XXS, and the only stores that carry anything flattering for really skinny people in those sizes are the expensive places, like Abercrombie. I would’ve ordered things online, but my mom doesn’t believe in shopping online-----she’s afraid someone will steal her credit card number.

I know this question might make me seem whiny and ungrateful and vain and spoiled because there are people dying in Darfur and I’m concerned about a pair of shorts, but still, it really makes me feel bad that I’m the only person in
What should I do about this? I tried talking to my dad, but he won’t make her understand. She’s got a one-track mind.

That's a little bit crazy. usually hollister has things on sale for smallll sizes - you can get shirts for like $10 and pants at $20 sometimes. ask if you can just have some maney for the year and buy things when they are on sale, now when you have a shoppin trip. really, you don't have to spend $40 on shorts... i'm one of those girls that has a nice wardrobe and i DON'T pay full price. get them on sale a week later - that's how AE is. Try to look fr good deals not just the brand and if it fits. you can try charlotte russe and stuff too. if you need anything else, lemme know.

I read a book by Laurlene McDaniels a few years back and it was about a girl and her amish bf and i think someone dies. I got it at the library, i remember that much. I don't read a lot but I did like this book. I've heard this is a good love story author so just check a few of her books out.

okay so i really liked this guy and he liked me to and he was so sweet to me until we did stuff and then last night he broke up with me and it hurt so bad i dont know why though it was only 2 weeks i want to still go out with him what do i do?

if he dumped you after "doing stuff" - that's all he wanted and he's not worth it. after 2 weeks, it sounds like you guys just rushed into things... I would just forget about this kid. i'm sorry it happened to you, i really am - heartbreak sucks - but move on... there are better guys out there, i promise. if you need anything else, i'm here for you.

Why is it that whenever a person tells another person a secret or something ...some kind of news.....and that person is close to the other person...and no matter how much you BEG them...and PLEAD NOT to tell the secret...they still ALWAYS do.

What does this mean? Should I stop telling people secret stuff?...I mean....How can I NOT?....I tell my own SISTER stuff....and she spills the beans.


How can this be stopped?


What should I do if I crave to let my emotions and secrets out? Because there's a lot building up inside of me over time. And I can't be trusting of ANYONE anymore...since like all of them (the people) basically stuck a fork up my ass. And backstabbed me with a dagger.

Just don't tell them.. tell them things you dont mind being spread and tell them not to tell so they dont think you just dont trust them anymore. keep a diary or talk to someone you know from out of state... i have a diary and have some close guy friends from where i used to live and they keep my secrets because there's no one to tell because they are in a different group of friends than me or just really far away. try that or meet a new friend online and just tell them stuff that you cant tell people around you. don't tell them your name and all that stuff, just your "adventures" or "news" if you need anything else, lemme know.

ok well im 15 n its so sad n embarassing but ive never had a boyfriend or done any thing with a guy. in grade 8 i used 2 hang out with other ppl but we kinda grew apart n now i have new friends. so last year (grade 9) my new friends asked how many boyfriends i had and i came clean and said none. i no that u dont like fakes but i lied and i said i had 1 before but we only went out for a week and i dont really count that as having a boyfriend. well my friends arent geeks or anything and 2 make it more embarassing for me they always have a boyfriend and theyve all had sex before. outside of skool i dont have a lot of friends and i dont go to parties because my mom is wierd like that so i cant meet guys that way. also my confidence is really bad since i think im so ugly and im not really fat but i have a bit of fat on my stomach. also i dont like attention drawn to myself so i dont dress like i want to so that people will pay attention to me. my eyebrows arent really bad but i dont get them waxed so they are a little on the bushy side. i always think that if i fix those things that guys would like me but i never do.well srry this is so long of a problem but i would really appreciate help and thanks in advance

there's nothing wrong with you, trust me. I didn't have a bf for a really long time after most people so i know what you're going through. wait for the guy that doesnt care what you look like but likes you for your personality. trust me, its so much easier to be with someone you don't have to impress. don't dress slutty to get attention... no one likes that. every guy i know disses the girls with slutty picture on their myspace or girls that dress with theyre cleavage all over the place.... yes they get guys but not good ones at all. you don't need to go to parties to meet them... or trashed to get with them... just stay the way you are. be yourself and don't freak out that you don't have a bf yet... it's not a race. all those girls that had sex before are probably going to regret it later. i've been 2 high school and most of the people i know - both guys & girls- are virgins! i'm not a geek that hangs out with nerdy kids either so really, theres no rush. having a bf that isnt meant for you or being in a crappy relationship is not half as fun as being single. just hang with the guys you know or with some of your girls and invite a few guys over. it's not a "party", just hang out. i doubt you are ugly so just be happy with yourself and guys will learn to appreciate who you are.

well before you break the mood and slap him, just kinda move away... put your hands on his and put them where you want them. if he doesn't get the hint, stop - tell him "i dont want your hand there" and then go again. if he doesnt stop, then you know hes a jerk and just end it right there.

It's normal for beginners. It probably wasn't even that much, it just seems like a lot since it was your first time. you know that they say... practice makes perfect.

im 13 bout to be 14 weve been going for almost two months but he has done a lot of really nice things than any of my other old boyfrineds did for me, i just dont know what to get him because he is one of those guys who are like always happy and make me laugh and is always hyper. so i dunno, i just was wondering if u had any great ideas to get him gifts for just like out of the blue to give him, i really dont take that much of pictures of him, but i have a few.

hmm you could get him a funny picture frame with a cute funny picture of you two.
maybe something that would make you both laugh a lot- some inside joke or just something that reminds him of the fun times you have.
basically anythin that you put thought into.

I would go with something nice like jewelry... doesn't have to be tiffany's- get your favorite stone on a ring or just diamond earrings.
if you want something not typical, ask for a trip somewhere... visit a friend, go to the beach with a friend, explore a city, spring break trip or a car to take a road trip.
if you really don't know what you want right now, ask for money and buy something for yourself that you really like. happy birthday!

get him something that he sees there and likes... like if he sees music for a bunch of songs by his favorite band and he looks through it and doesn't buy it, go back and get it. if he like a tshirt or guitar strap or anything else you could that for him. basically, anything cheaper than a guitar that he likes is a good birthday present.

It won't make you tired but it's not a great habit to get into... there's nothing worng with it just don't depend on advil allll the time.

13/f. who has ever smelt or has one i need help. www.smencils.com we got thoes there realy strong. we got like high on them. are they bad when you smell then an hour straight we got like seriously 'out of it' lost like 'woo hoo'. can barely walk. my bff has been abused with drugs so shes used to it she says thats how it feels when your high. since then my head huuuurts. is it or whats wrong.

I think that's just your mind kicking in. if feeling kinda lightheaded was high, no one would get high. she probably did inhalents or something because i really don't think you can get high from markers like those.
