get him something that he sees there and likes... like if he sees music for a bunch of songs by his favorite band and he looks through it and doesn't buy it, go back and get it. if he like a tshirt or guitar strap or anything else you could that for him. basically, anything cheaper than a guitar that he likes is a good birthday present. <3
