Q: in the november seventeen magazine theres the AE click& win calendar. and in seventeen has on, cosmo girl has a calendar and you win things. do they actually work?

I think they'd have to because sooner or later people would catch on. I personally never have won anything yet but it must work also because they'll keep readers coming back for the next issue and more.

As long as you keep anything/everything you're eating in moderation, your diet and weight should be fine. Fruits have natural sugars, not like the stuff of junk food. They don't even contain much calories. Don't worry, they don't make you fat - they make you healthier!

Q: I'm from the UK and I know in the US colleges focus quite a bit on what extracurricular activities you have. There's only one college I'm applying to in the US but it's my first choice so I'd really like to think I have a shot at this.

Problem is, my school doesn't offer extracurricular activities and this may be hard to belive but there's no after school activities available in my town (other than academic help which I don't need and sports which I'm not able to do due to health).
The college I'm applying to is an arts college but I'm going for fashion management and they mostly focus on your activites and personal statement, rather than grades.

I'm a sophomore right now and the only extracurricular I do is I play the drums. I've had a job since I was 13 and I'm going to continue working, I'm also looking for volunteer work & applying for an internship with a fashion company in New York this Summer (but the programme I'm applying for favours people with extracurricular activities too so I'm screwed haha.

What should I do!? I really need SOMETHING to put on my applications.

First of all, blow up the drums and job if you can.. if you're in a band or whatever, try to play it up a lot. You don't have to have a billion extracurriculars - you just have to be a leader in the ones you are already in, mostly. Or excell in what you already do. Drums.. are you in a band? You can always "make" something up. Form a band with friends and say that you play with them or w/e at nursing homes or host concerts for charity. In addition to job, add on "babysitting" or doing chores for neighbors (mowing lawn, shoveling snow) - things people can't really track down or like you went door-to-door to sell stuff to raise money for a cause. Also, if you have an online shop of clothes you made or jewelry or cool stuff you can set that up now and they would not know when you first set it up. It'll look good because it has to do with selling fashion goods.

Q: i have contacts, and i was wondering how do i clean my contact lenses case i keep them in overnight clean? is there something special i have to clean them with?

When you put your contact lenses in your contact case overnight, be sure to add the product listed below to keep your contacts soft. This brand recently came out with a solution that is said to retain extra moisture in the contacts and it works well for me. You use it for rinsing in addition to disinfecting, I believe. The contact lens solution is what you use to clean your contacts and contact case, to wash off any particles that may adhere to the contacts. Also, I wash my hands with soap and water and dry my hands on a paper towel or let my hands air dry as to not touch bacteria when I want to put in my contacts.

Q: two shows/movies I can't stand:

Not only, in my opinion, are they really cheesy and overrated..but unoriginal and stupid.

You can have your own opinion. People are just pissed because you don't agree with them. I personally do not like either.. if you're still in middle school people probably are just excited about high school (HSM 1 & 2), that's all. Don't know why they would like Hannah Montana though. Be glad you are strong enough to think for yourself. lol they just don't see the error of their ways yet that the shows are not as cool as they think.

Q: Well im not so sure where to put this but I hope I have it in the right place. This may sound really retarded, but it really bugs me. I have a problume with laughing, I always laugh at everything even if its not funny and i cant help it I just do. Sometimes when I am talking I cannot even finish my sentence because I start laughing all the time. It really imbarresses me esspecially when i am talking to the guy I really like, I am scared that my laughing might scare him away. This may seem really weired but how can I stop laughing so much? I hate looking like a retared all the time.

You don't sound as if you are ready yet. Maybe if he opens up about himself, his past, and childhood first you can feel more at ease talking about yours. Tell him that you are not comfortable yet. If you two are in love he will understand. You may be ashamed and embarrassed, but he loves you and in a loving relationship you can choose whether to tell him or not on your own terms on your own time. If your past difficulty made you who you are and he loves you he will think you are a stronger person for having gone through that and for telling him as well. Do not be ashamed or embarrassed. You did nothing wrong. Talking about it may be therapeutic and he can help you heal. Also, this new closeness may bring you guys to new heights in your relationship on a deeper level.

Q: Can anyone give me great websites to download music? I'd prefer if you'd refer one from your experience, a website that you've used and stuff, instead of just searching for one, but I guess anything is fine. I don't want to download Limewire, or anything I have to download to get music. I'd also like it if the website had some sort of proof that it's safe, and a disclaimer that doesn't say anything like "You have to buy before you download these songs! If you don't obey, it's illegal and can land you in jail, and you will get in trouble!" You guys can conduct a cute little interview session together and just set aside time to ask questions about each other, like have a coffee date. More questions will probably pop up in your head as you go along. You don't have to keep asking questions in a row. If he says something that reminds you of something else you want to ask him, go for it and keep the conversation flowing. If you want to ask about his "secrets" maybe if you tell him one of yours that may get him to open up. Be like "I have something I want to confess" and he may do the same. The questions do not have to be specific. If they are open-ended then you both will have room for more discussion than like random, quick one-word answers like "favorite animal"? You can ask questions that require more thinking like "favorite memory"?.

Q: OK I know It is really early to be worried about this but here goes. I am currently 15/f (freshman) and my goal career-wise is to be a pediatrician like in a hospital. I have been searching everywhere to figure out what i need and what classes and everything but i am not good at college searching so I need some help -- you know what they say, start early! So anyways. I am hoping to got to University VA for undergrad and for med school as well. Is there like a chart or something of what scores I need to be in the range of for SAT's, ACT's, etc. as well as what courses I need to take in high school and college? It's very good to want to be prepared. I think it's important to start right away even at the start of 9th grade.

If you want to be a pediatrician, try to take honors and AP level science courses like Biology Honors, Chemistry Honors, Physics Honors, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, Human Anatomy & Physiology.. and for math you probably need to reach the calculus level.

SAT scores you should aim for is above a 2000. Your GPA is important as well and if you score in the range 2100-2300 you will be fine. Talk to your counselor to see charts/scattergrams/tables on different colleges/universities and their requirements. Your school should be signed up with Naviance. It is a very helpful site specific to your school.

Does it relate to what you are reading or doing in class? If not, tell him that you are uncomfortable with the subject matter he is discussing and that the class should be focused on the assignment at hand, not random topics that always relate to death. Or just try to tune him out when he is talking about morbid stuff.

I remember when I first got my computer and installed the Internet there was a popup that came up and asked me if I wanted that ^ (what you described) to happen and I checked the box that said "do not ask me again" or something. I don't know how to make that come back so you won't have to delete the words you searched for in the boxes manually. Someone else may tell you but for now you can just click the box and the drop down box will come up and all the words you've ever searched for and click the "delete" on your keyboard. It may take a while to delete each entry. The "delete" sign on my keyboard is located above the arrows.. in the middle right of the keyboard.. right of the "enter" key.

It is annoying, I know, and people do it for fun, making fake profiles for celebrities. I bet the celebrities like it, though, because it limits fans from really trying to find his/her page for fear of stalkers and such. I think it's easier to find a celebrity's myspace because sometimes it's public and you can read their profile and figure out for yourself whether he/she is the real deal or not whereas in Facebook you can only view the profiles of people in your network(s) that haven't set their profile to private and don't have you already added as a friend. :\ What can you do?

It basically means like "emotionally-charged arguments". They have really tense arguments since a lot of emotions are in play when one is in an argument with another.
