My parents keep the house so so so so so cold...I'm always freezing and it's the middle of the winter...it's always like 60 in here, and I've told my parents so many times that I'm SO cold when its that cold, but they don't care. They say that they are comfortable that way, and that if they turn it up they will be too warm. I'm not the only one who thinks its too cold...friends or relatives who come over say its so cold! I have a problem: I am a lonely introvert, and I try to get out and make friends. But my problems is that most people only want to talk about superficial things such as house, car, kids, job, and shopping. While I know those are what most people care about, these topics bore me to death. I like deeper conversations about philosophy or literature. I don't mean to be conceited, but it's hard to find smart people to talk to. Why can't I find anyone on my level? Should I dumb myself down to fit in? Any comments are appreiciated. Thank you!
When you start a conversation with someone that you don't know, do you normally start out with a deep philosophical topic? Does anyone? Just because a total stranger doesn't come up to you and start a deep conversation, but instead asks you about your job and where you got your shoes, does that mean that they don't have interesting thoughts?
You need to first learn how to talk about bullshit to get through the initial akwardness of a new friendship.

Ok heres the story,Christmas day is when everything started...my whole family cept for me started fighting, my brother and his friend was over here and my mom started in on my brother and my brother ended up cutting his wrist, blood was running down his arm, i also cut myself that day because i was upset with everything thats been happeneing lately, when i cut my arm i blacked out, and well the story goes on, yesterday and today my parents have been fighting and i mean seriously fighting, my brother and his friend left yesterday and got one of their friends to come and pick them up and after they left my parents started fighting and have been fighting all day today and i cant take it no more, they were fighting so bad my mom was hitting my dad they spit on eachother, one of em pushed the other into the christmas tree and it broke at the bottom and everything on it droped on the floor and broked as well, and they wont stop fighting, i tell them to stop and they wont...they wont listen to me, i told them maybe they do need to get a divorce if they're gonna fight this much because there aint no sence in em being together if they are gonna fight 24/7 and i dont know what to do i cant take it anymore, i wanna get out of here but i have no where to go, no one wants me, and i have no one to talk to about any of i because i have no friends and i dont know what to do...the thoughts of my running away crossed my mind but i wouldnt have anywhere to go and its to cold outside to run away...so if anyone has any advice to give me please do...i need all the advice i can get, sorry this is so long, Thanks to who ever takes the time to read this and send me their thoughts.

I gave you these sites because it seems like a clear case of domestic violence going on in your house. It reminds me a lot of some unhappy holidays when I was younger.
Thankfully the guy that was abusing my mother was not my father, and my mother eventually smartened up and got rid of him.
I don't think just telling your parents to stop fighting is really going to help anything. If they've been fighting constantly for this long then they're obviously not thinking clearly and aren't going to listen to reason.
They need some serious help. Perhaps marriage counseling. But maybe, well, from the sounds of it, most likely, divorce will be the best way to go about it.
You should not have to deal with this shit. They should not bring you into their problems and bring even more stress and traumatization into a teenagers life.
You might want to talk to some councelors at school. Perhaps they can steer you in the right direction. There are also some sites online where you can talk to other teens that are in, or have been, in the same situations. I believe the two .org sites that I gave you have links to some of those sites.
Whatever you do, don't just hold it all in, trust me, it will only fuck your life up more if you do. Find someone to talk to, and find someone who can help you talk to your parents. You need to make your parents understand what this is doing to you. They need to see that it's not just their life, it's the lives of their children that their going to ruin if they keep this shit up.

Show them that you can take care of a pet.
All pet's are a huge responsibility. You need to be able to clean up after it, feed it, groom it, train it, and give it love.
Inform yourself about the pet that you want. Read about how to take care of that pet. Read about healthy ways to feed it, and how much it is going to cost- Vet bills, paying for food, toys, treats, grooming materials.
You can't get a pet just because you think it's cute. You need to know the responsibilities of owning an animal. You need to know that that pet depends on you to live.
Learn about the kind of pet you want and your parents might think your responsible enough for one.

Well, you were a little harsh with the girl who left the feedback. I do agree that her feedback was uncalled for. But you shouldn't worry about it too much. Is your mom really going to be that upset about the word "bitch". It only translates to mean "female dog" anyway.
If you really want to delete it, then all you need to do is delete your answer. Go to "edit answer" and delete everything you wrote in that particular answer.

Well, I'm not entirely sure exactly what your asking, but I will tell you something that might possibly help you.
You are allowed to ask a columnist something about a question, sort of like how I asked you about where you got your statistics.
You are allowed to ask a columnist something about an answer they already gave you.
You allowed to ask a columnist an advice related question.
You won't be banned for saying hi to a columnist or saying something nice about them or their column.
You can ask a columnist something before you decide whether or not you want to ask them a different advice question.
You were banned for a few different reasons, not just the personal questions. But it was sort of worrying a few columnists. You should stay away from asking anyone how to become a level 2 moderator, you've already been told how to do that anyway. (rate questions and do a good and fair job rating questions for long periods of time)
You should also not ask personal questions to MaxwellsSilverHammer or advice~gurl. It was just getting to be a little too much to them, and they felt that some of the questions were uncalled for.
Read through what it said in the big long paragraph when you were banned again and maybe that can give you a good idea about what to do and what not to do also.

There are so many laws that you are not aware of.
One is the one that states that dogs and cats should not be separated from their parents until the age of 8 weeks.
Especially dogs. They gain certain skills that they can ONLY learn from their packmates at a young age. They are not ready to leave their mothers at the age of 6 weeks.

Ok i have a puppy, i just got the other day and she will be 7 weeks old tomorrow...well my problem is...she wont stop useing the bathroom on my floor in my bedroom and everywhere else in the house...even though i tell her no...thats bad and not to do it again but she keeps on and on whenever i see that shes about to go to the bathroom i pick her up and rush her outside....its annoying and i need advice on how to get her to stop useing the bathroom on my floor...thanks...i'll rate anyone who answers this for me!
You need to take your puppy outside AT LEAST every two hours. At least. She is only 7 weeks? Wow, it's actually illegal to take a puppy or a kitten away from it's mother before 8 weeks old. But oh well, just work with her and you'll eventually get it.
Your doing a good job by taking her out every time you see that she needs to go. Eventually she will understand, but until then, take her out every time she wakes up, after every time she eats, drinks, plays extensively, etc. Basically take her out a lot.
When you catch her going to the bathroom in the house, scold her, but dont' scare her. Scaring her will make it worse. But sternly tell her no, and maybe pat her on the nose. But, if you don't actually catch her, and you only see the mess after she's already done it and left, then you shouldn't scold her for it. She won't be able to tell that she's being scolded for actually going on the floor, she'll just think she's being scolded for see poop or pee.
When you bring her outside and she goes to the bathroom, make sure you give her plenty of praise and "good girl"s. Bring her favorite treats with you and feed her a treat after every time she goes to the bathroom.
Now, you can also put her in a crate when you can't watch her. But don't use a crate for longer than a few hours. If she is in the crate, she won't want to make a mess because dogs naturally do not like to sleep or lay near their messes. They are naturally clean animals. But, if you leave her in there for too long, and she has to go to the bathroom, and then sleep right next to it, then she will develop bad habits and will become a very dirty dog.
But used properly, a crate can help with doggy training. You might want to try to leave her in there at night, while you sleep, only as long as you let her outside to go to the bathroom as soon as you, or her, wakes up.

Is your puppy a pure bred dog? If so, then you can go to breed rescue groups about this. What happens at rescue groups is very good. It's a volunteer service where the dogs go to foster homes, while they learn how to live in a house and certain things, like sit, stay, lay, roll. Since your dog has already learned these things, they will continue to teach her new things things to keep her as happy and as healthy as they possibly can.

I know for your parents, you should make something involving pictures of your family. I usually make my mom something each year and she ends up crying (from happinness I hope) each time.
Once I bought a cheap photo album, went to her big box of old pictures and filled it with pictures of when me and all my brother's and sisters were younger.
Another time I took some pictures of when she was a teenager, and when me and my siblings were babies, and made a big pastel drawing of them all. Of course, you might want to have some art experience to do that.
Something that is made will mean so much more to them anyway.
About your brother's and sisters... sorry, but I can't help you much with them.

Ok, I'll try to explain it a little better than the FAQ does.
A few minutes ago you had 42 rating, now you have 41. The reason is because only the ratings that are from exactly the last 30 count towards your average rating. So, it's 1:19 right now, say that 30 days ago at 1:19 I got rated with a 5. At 1:20, that rating will no longer count towards my average because it was given to me 30 days and 1 minute ago.
The 2 new ratings may not be calculated in your average because it does not automatically update itself. You might need to wait a few minutes, or up to a day for it to be updated. From what I knew, it was updated once a day, but I'm almost certain that it has been changed to several times a day now. Anyway, there is a link that you can use in the FAQ that will automatically update your feedback rating, and will also give you a list of which ratings are counted with the average.
Also, ratings that come from private questions don't count.

Alright yall, i believe in God and that Jesus is the son of God. But i dont like church one bit, and i dont like the bible. I think i'm a good person, but i do also sin (obviously). And i have a wonderful relationship with God. So am i going to hell because i dont like church, and because i dont believe alot of what the Christians believe? Please help me out if you can. Before I answer this I want to inform you that I really do not know much about any religions. In fact, every time I have a conversation with my roommates I am usually told that I'm going to go to hell if I don't start believing in something.
I don't believe any of that crap. I am a good person and I don't need the fear of god to make me a good person. I don't think I believe in God, but I'm not sure. I believe in the theory of evolution and the bible just does not make sense to me. I don't believe in heaven or hell, so how could I go to either place. I'm always told that I can't go to heaven if I don't believe in it. So why would I get sent to hell, I don't believe in hell either.
One of my roommates is the son of a preacher, or minister, or whatever the baptist religion has. He doesn't make it to church every week. He drinks, swears, has sex before marriage, and even lives with his girlfriend before marriage. So, apparently, he sins. But he believes almost everything his father teaches.
My other roommate, his girlfriend, grew up in a very catholic home. But she now goes to church with her boyfriend's baptist family. She believes a little bit of both of the religions.
Basically I'm saying you don't need to worry about shit. I don't think any religions are correct. You can't believe in just ONE religion. You should learn about everything and see what you want to believe.
If your a good person, you should have no reason to fear God. Aren't there enough things in this world to be afraid of to add the fear of some mythical thing that hasn't really helped any of us out?
