what is a good way of convincing your parents to get you a pet!!!!(((other than puppy eyes or making a deal with them, already tried)))

My mother is a really nice person so she got me a cat. If anybody knows about getting pets the manipulating way I do (although truth be told, I'm not pround of it). I was a brat when I was a little girl and my sweet grandmother got me hamsters many times (behind my mother's back... she was pissed when she realized it... once we even took back a hamster because she sunded pissed on the phone... then we told her we were just testing her reaction). I really don't want you to do anything manipulative to get a pet because once you do have a pet you'll realize you're not responsible enough to have one.
What you SHOULD try is first proving to yourself you are responsible. Once you have done this prove it to your parents. Not only will you be confident and your parents will realizwe its ime for a pet, but it'll be enough time that your parents won't feel that you're nagging every second for a pet. Oh, and its best to ask the dad for a pet. They are usually more into the idea. Unless they say "ask your mother".
You can show responsibility by cleaning your room... doing chores occasionally... getting good grades (and if you want to make a deal, do it with grades. Ask them "if I get at least 5 As then can I have a pet?).

well i think you should show your parent that you are responsilbe enough. like doing chores and stuff like that then they will notice that your more responisible.

Try to explain to them that you are responsible..start off with something small like a fish or something and after you have proved to them that you can handle that take a step forward. xOx Tory

Well the way I got my paarents to get me a pet I got a fish and showed them how hard I could take care of one you can discuse it with them about it.

Convince them that you really ARE ready to get a pet. I mean, most parents refuse to get a pet because they think that they'll have to take care of it. Take care of a neighbor's pet or something like that and show them that you're responsible enough to get a pet of your own because they know that you will be taking care of it, not them. I hope you get a pet and take care!

show them you can take care of a pet...like ask them if you can babysit a neighbors pet...or use a stuffed animal...or pretend you have one or...if you have the money beg until they give up...if that dosent work go back to the stuffed animal.

read up on the animal you want, know the facts of the animal. behave well around your parents. do what is asked of you. try taking care of a plant first, see if you can keep it a live. do chores without being asked, and do them consistently. promise that the pet will be your responsibility, and show them how responsible you can be.

See if one of your neighbors is going away, then you can ask your mom if you can watch their pet(s). It will show your mom some responsibility with animals.

be really responsible. do chores and clean your room and make them believe that you can handle a pet. just ask them every once and a while, or else you'll annoy them and they really won't let you. good luck!!! xo

see i finally juss got a puppy ive been begging for fer a long time...u reli cant stop bugging them about it...u gotta keep that up...n talk to one parent at a time...if u can convince one...the other one will go for it...thats wut happened with me...n a couple months later...not even...i got my puppy!

Ugh...parents sure can be strict. Lol. I'm never getting a puppy, that's for sure. I've wanted once for more than 10 years =P But, at least I convinced my mom to let me have a parakeet. Better than nothing. Lol.
Go around the house and take care of things. Do the laundry, clean your mom's room, clean the house, mop, do all of that fun stuff =P Pick something, and commit yourself to it...to show your parents you ARE responsible and you WILL take care of the pet.
Most parents don't want you to have a pet because they think you
1. Aren't responsible enough
2. will end up getting tired of your pet and end up having your parents clean after your pet.

All pet's are a huge responsibility. You need to be able to clean up after it, feed it, groom it, train it, and give it love.
Inform yourself about the pet that you want. Read about how to take care of that pet. Read about healthy ways to feed it, and how much it is going to cost- Vet bills, paying for food, toys, treats, grooming materials.
You can't get a pet just because you think it's cute. You need to know the responsibilities of owning an animal. You need to know that that pet depends on you to live.
Learn about the kind of pet you want and your parents might think your responsible enough for one.
