Question Posted Tuesday December 21 2004, 11:05 am
It's almost xmas, and I don't have any gifts for my family. And worse of all, I can't go out and get gifts for them because I'm broke. Does anyone have any ideas how I can "make" a gift for my family? [I have one bro, 19, two parents, age unknown, and one sister, age 21.] If anyone could think of creative fun things I could make out of house hold items, I'd love you forever.

For the 19 year old bro.-Get a cute picture of you two together (or take one) and make a cutsey but still guyish (i lovr those terms!) Frame. Takes about 15 minutes
For you 21 year old sis.-Look and see if she has a theme to her room. Base your gift around that...you gotta be creative on this one!
For the parents-With you siblings and scissors and construction paper in tow, make a mini photo album of yuo family together. Not only will they love it, but they can look back on it every year! [ LiLQTPiE8505's advice column | Ask LiLQTPiE8505 A Question ]

Shortie8959 answered Tuesday December 21 2004, 5:56 pm: Candles are good. There are probably websites you can go to and they show you how to make them. Photo albums are good, too. My friend made that for me a long time ago, and I still have it. You can just make it out of construction paper and ribbon and stuff. For your brother, that's really tough. Maybe make a collage of sports pics and stuff if he's into sports. Also, you could bake cookies! Yummy! Good luck!
Hope I helped!

luckycharm answered Tuesday December 21 2004, 1:53 pm: Dear Giftless,
for your sis- you could make a scrapbook of pix from when you 2 were young! if you cant buy a scrapbook, just make one out of construction paper!
for your bro- you could egt him a poster or something... those can be really cheap sometimes... or you could just give him like a bowl of his favorite candy or something... something cheap that he likes...
for your parents- picture frame! parents love stuff that reminds them of their kids so you could make a frame and put a pic of you, your bro, n your sis in it! or you could give them a little coupon that says you will spend one whole day with them... parents love it when they get to spend time with their kids so make a certificate that says you'll go out n see a movie w/ your dad or go shopping w/ your mom...
hope this helps!!! merry xmas!

S_C answered Tuesday December 21 2004, 1:25 pm: You can make these little paper coupons. Like one for your parents that say I will wash your car 2 times for free. And one for a sibling, I will do your chores for one day. Do you get what I mean? Hope this helped! Merry Christmas. ~_~_*~*~*EDIT_~_~_~_*~*~*~* haha, that's where I got the idea, from way back when I was in like 5th grade. [ S_C's advice column | Ask S_C A Question ]
selectopaque answered Tuesday December 21 2004, 12:02 pm: I know for your parents, you should make something involving pictures of your family. I usually make my mom something each year and she ends up crying (from happinness I hope) each time.
Once I bought a cheap photo album, went to her big box of old pictures and filled it with pictures of when me and all my brother's and sisters were younger.
Another time I took some pictures of when she was a teenager, and when me and my siblings were babies, and made a big pastel drawing of them all. Of course, you might want to have some art experience to do that.
Something that is made will mean so much more to them anyway.
