It may seem a bit childish, but ya neveR know. I'm in my late teen's, and my *MUCH* oldeR boyfRiend thought it was the cutest thing in the whole woRld when I just took some little coloRing book and finished the page foR him -- he slapped that puppy Right up on his living Room wall. Also, tRying slipping a shoRt little note into his backpack oR schoolbook. And make shoRe to give him lots of hugs out of nowheRe. When I was ill recently, I really relied on my partner, and he was wonderful at looking after me. I've told him how thankful I am and how much it meant to me, but I'd really like to show how grateful I am and am really stuck for what would be appropriate. Would a card or gift be tacky/inappropriate? I saw a book I know he'd enjoy, but it doesn't feel quite the right way to say 'thanks' for all that he's done.
Basically, I'm just looking for opinions - should I get him a small token like the book, or is it more appropriate to just talk to him about it as I have been doing?

In most cases, theRe Really isn't anything you can do about it; you can't change someone elses peRsonal opinion, but you most ceRtainly should let them know that you find theiR speech to be offensive. You could also ask them why they said what they did, and why they feel that way. If you don't have a heating pad, you can make one by simply filling a sock with Rice and heating it in the micRowave foR a few minutes [must sound silly, but if the cRamps get bad enough, it just might be woRth it]. Well, 6 houRs is a long time, and no matteR what you use, you will pRobably have to Reapply at least once duRing that time peRiod. It would be a good idea to make shoRe the lip gloss is long lasting, fiRst of all. I apply lots and lots of lip gloss, and use it oveR chapstick, and this usually lasts quite a while. I do know that theRe's a penicl called a "NatuRal/Nude" lineR, and I heaR that it woRks wondeRs. This is a big pRoblem foR me also, so I know how you feel; I've been theRe, and it's not good. I Reccommend using an anti-peRspiRant deodoRant, followed by RegulaR baby powdeR. The anti-peRspiRant of couRse helps to Reduce sweating, oR at least is said to, but in ouR case... neveR does. Then with the assistance of applying baby powdeR Right oveR the deodoRant, the poRes undeR youR aRm close, theRefoRe, moRe oR less tRapping the sweat in, so to speak. Honestly, this almost ALWAYS woRks foR me, but theRe *ARE* days when it's simply not good enough, and that can be a pain in the ass, so I usually make a point of caRRying some soRt of jacket. HeaRing that, theRe's this pRoduct people aRe talking about on this site, and even adveRtised on television called CeRtainDRi. Now, they say it can be puRchased at Wal-gReens, RiteAid, CVS, and WalmaRt, howeveR, EVERY SINLE TIME I've been to the stoRe looking foR it, I neveR seen it on the shelves. NatuRally, this leads me to ask an employee wheRe I can find it, and they *always* tell me they've neveR heaRd of it, and they do not caRRy the pRoduct... which just leaves you speechless and with a feeling of, 'what now?'. I layed down and I just woke up and the headache is just as bad. I still feel dizzy, and I feel like I'm going to throw up. Is this what migraines do? I took an Advil and it didnt help at all. Ugh! I feel horrible!
Sounds like a migRaine to me. I suffeR fRom MANY migRaines a week, so I've found a couple ways to ease the pRessuRe. Make shoRe youR haiR is flat on youR head... no up-do's and stuff; they pull youR haiR cuasing tugging on youR skin, which makes it woRse. Also, stay in a QUIET, DARK Room. If you have not yet noticed, migRaines aRe tRicky; theRe's sensitivity to noise, ASWELL AS sensitivity to silence. If you feel just as bad in the daRk as you did in the light, tRy putting on a soothing c.d. *veRy* low, low enough to wheRe you can baRely make out the woRds being said -- that helps me a TON! AnotheR thing, foR many people, they meditate. It pRobably seems silly, but I've tRied it befoRe. [with as many migRaines as I get I'm willing to tRy ANYTHING!] Just sit calmly and take small slow bReaths, while pictuRing a scRibbled on chalk boaRd. PRetend youR headache is the white chalk scRibbles, and pictuRe youRself eRasing away the headache. AfteR saying that, I Realize it DOES seem a tad bit odd and off the wall, but it's completely up to you whetheR the headache is bad enough foR you to ResoRt to that oR not, but give it a chance; no one has to know. ;D And the most IMPORTANT thing to do... apply ***stRong*** pRessuRe to the spot that is pounding, whetheR that be the temple, the side of youR head, the top of youR head, between youR eyes and so on. Apply pRessuRe and hold it down foR about 30 seconds. AfteR that, you will notice an immediate diffeRence. And as foR medicine, I've tRied eveRything!! I've noticed the best medication out theRe is extRa stRength Advil. Now Advil pRoduces a special migRaine Relief pill stRictly foR migRaines, and I've found that it usually does not help me, but sometimes does it just might. And to Raise money, tRy mowing some lawns -- that can eaRn up $20.00, sometimes up to $65.00 dollaRs peR yaRd, depending on the size and slope.
