I want to get a skateboard but I don't know how much it costs. I want a good one but not professional or anything.Does anyone know how much those would cost and maybe a link to a site to see some pictures of a board?Just something good that will last.Where could I get one?Would Target have a good one?
Napalm350z answered Monday April 25 2005, 4:52 pm: Your best bet would be to go to a skate shop. It'll cost you around $100-$130 to get a decent deck, trucks, bearings, and wheels. You could also go to Academy, they have a few good boards, but don't spend less than 40 bucks on one there. Just remember, you get what you pay for. I would not recommend buying a skateboard at Target, you will regret that. [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
This is a link to some pretty good complete decks. [ Napalm350z's advice column | Ask Napalm350z A Question ]

Yes, it would be a bit moRe expensive buying one at a skate shop, but tRust me... it'll be woRth it! Why spend a whoppin' $50.00 on a cRummy boaRd, when you can spend $220.00 on a WAY BETTER boaRd? PeRhaps you don't have that much money laying aRound the house, but you could always woRk foR it. It's tRue that you might have to wait longeR, but tRust me; it'll be completely woRth it!! And to Raise money, tRy mowing some lawns -- that can eaRn up $20.00, sometimes up to $65.00 dollaRs peR yaRd, depending on the size and slope. You could make a couple flieRs, and post them up on the bullentin boaRds of youR neaRest couple of gRoceRy stoRes - fRee adveRtising, that's what it's theRe foR. And peRhaps even put an ad in the papeR. Goodluck deciding! Hopefully I've been of some help heRe. Take caRe! [ Mackenzie's advice column | Ask Mackenzie A Question ]

Duckie answered Sunday April 24 2005, 9:11 pm: I'm not trying to be mean or anything..but Target's boards are for like..people who aren't really serious about it. They're way cheaper than longer lasting, more skateboardingish boards. Lol, they're just cheaper made. At Fast Forward, is where most of my skateboarding friends buy theirs.
Problem is, the ones there..or any good skateboard store are pricey. They're about 40-80 dollars. Yeah. :/ Ha, so if you can't spend that much..then yeah, go to Target. Theirs are like 20-40 dollars, they're just not as good, and true 'skaters' will be able to tell that it's not the best brand. But, the hell with them if they can't accept that you didn't want to spend 80 dollars on something that's bound to break in 6 months.
