advice

okay so im like trying to diet, like im just a little on the pudgy side and i wanna look good for the summer. but like i know i want to but i just cant seem to get motivated enough. like ill be like tomorrow i start my diet and then i see something like a cookie and i eat it. how can i get motivated?

find pictures of heathy (being not too skinney) and lok at them to tell your self that you are trying to look like that.
put a mirror in your room, so you can see yourself often

but, remember that, most of all your health is important. If you can get yourself to look great now, it will be easier to stay that way as you grow up.

I was wondering if you all knew of any animals that have made a contribution to mankind. I know that chimpanzees made tools which were later modified by some of our ancestral primates and I did some research and discovered that pigs are used in genetic engineering. i spend a lott of time in my bedroom on a given day. even on the weekends, i stay up on my laptop talking to my friends, reading, or listening to music.

my room isn't particularly large, so i try to keep things reallyy simple and keep my tabletops clean and uncluttered. i'm pretty organized.

i want to make my bedroom more fun, literally. it's not that i lack things to do; i just want to make it more welcoming and bright.

however, here's where i'm having some issues, i don't want to repaint it and / or buy any new furniture. i'm not a big fan of wall posters because they seem to clutter my room and make it seem even smaller. i tried making polka dots and that looked cute for a while but i got bored of it.

how can i add color to my room without buying anything new, like bedsheets & lamps?

i know one tip i learned was to add a lot of lighting to your room to make it more fun in the nighttime. i already have three minilamps in my room, and my room is very well lit. what else can i do?

I don't have a large room as well. What I did was first I added a mirror. It definetly makes the room look bigger.
If you are a nature person, then put vases of fake flower around (like on your table), make funky color variations and they can be as little as a dollar in some stores.
I do alot of artwork and if you are like that, hang up your art work.
Maybe have a small picture collage on an area. it doesn't have to be huge but it can definetly make it more welcoming
also, if you add a colorful bedsheet, it will look very cool.

one thing i found helpful was to go to a craft store or the craft section of a normal store. You can get alot of ideas that way and ask the store clerks to help out.

I like the first one best as well.
The second one I don't like because of all the people, that takes the attention away from you.
The third is a nice picture, if you could get rid of the red eye then it would look really good. Then you could use that if you wanted to.

So I'm doing a project for school.. and we have to write a children's book.
My story is about 2 kids who go to a safari/zoo and they see all these cool animals that are different colors (ex. purple elephants). My only problem is .. I don't know how to end it. There wasn't a problem that needed to be resolved or anything. so anyone got any ideas for my story?

yes, this is my thing!

i have a couple of ideas
1)since they see all the funny colored animals, on the last page they could see a normal colored animal and say "what a funny color that is!"
2) it could turn out that they were wearing colored glasses
3)same as two but their binoculars could have had colored lenses
4)end it by them saying "that was fun!who knew animals had such fun colors!" then the second caracter could say "i wish i could be that colorful!"
5)end it by the characters leaving the zoo by saying :uh oh, we're lost!"

i can't think of any more at this second, but if you do need more then don't be afraid to ask! :)I hope i at least sparked some ideas. :)

in your opinion, how much time should the average person spend in front of their computer which is NOT work / school - related? and how many hours is considered unhealthy (like more than x hours)?

Yes, definetly don't go over 2 hours. More than that can definetly ruin your eyes and can give some people headaches. I would say under no circumstance should you need go over 3 hours. Now, this is for fun. Work and school are separate, but there is no need for fun time on the computer when it's already 10pm. Then you will be risking your sleep time.

I saw a question on this site that asked how you can quickly get rid of a bruise and well, I want to know how you can quickly make a cut/wound heal and scab quickly.

You can't really make your body heal a cut/scab/wound but you can place the injusry in the best surrounding to help that healing along.

I have just found out that my father is cheating on my mother.
This isn't the first time.
My mom came very close to catching him but things were okay after some time and now its happening again.

wow, that's a tough situation.

I would definetly talk to your dad. It sounds like something everyone would say, but right now that's the only thing you can do. Talk to your dad about what's going on. Tell him, that when he does this, he will not only be hurting your mom's feeling, but yours as well.

I wish I knew how old you were. I don't think your mother would do that to you. She seems caring to me and it seems like you apprciate her alot. She took you even if you have no relation to he, which shows that she loves you and takes care of you.

I think after you talk to your dad wait and see what he does. You are still young and it's not your fault nor your responsibility to take matters into your own hands.

I agree with the previous advice.

I just moved this year, and have gooten to be pretty well-known. The reason? I was outgoing. I talked to everyone, no matter who it was. I smile like way to much. I also help people with their homework and give them easy ways to understand something.

The only reason you can be "cool" is by being yourself. Act nice. Be friendly. Don't fall into peer pressure.

Okay, so I'm thinking about buying a new digital camera. I kinda don't know what to look for though. So just a few questions to help with my confusion:
Is 3x optical zoom good? And what's the difference between digital zoom and optical zoom?
I've tried looking it up, but it's really confusing me more than helping.
Also, does anyone have any suggestions? Like, what are some good brands for under $200?

I jut bought 4 goldfish yesterday
Two are orange and are Fantails. The other two are black and are Black Moors.

They are only young so they are still quite small.

I think they might be bored.
They have blue pebbles and a background as well as two real plants and a small artificial plant.
The tank is the right size for the fish but do you think they need something else to keep them entertained other than a couple of plants?

Also I was wondering how you tell whether they are male or female.

The best way would be to go to a pet store. You will obviously find many cool things there. You can also ask the store clerk about what is good or not.

As for if it will crowd the tank, will you cn get the 'toy' and observe hoe the fish react to it. DO they stay away form it, do they move less? stuff like that.

just yesterday a friend of mine called me and told me some things about me bf. she told me he's cheats on me constantly and names plenty of girls. i was only really upset b/c this isn't the first time i've heard things like this about him. i have talked to him and i called about it b/c the stuff she told me had me pissed. he says its not true of course and doesnt understand why i dont trust him. i told him i dont a while ago b/c of all this stuff going on and he said he trust me. all i need to decide for now is who ima believe b/c i cnt leave him unless i really knw. so who should i believe??

Ok, well there are two sides to this.
1)Your friend told you herself and you also said you have heard this before. Well, you have to think, 'why would they lie to you?'. They could be telling you this because they care about you and don't want you to get hurt. They are warning you of it.
2) If your bf himself said he didn't, then you believe him there as well.

So, what i would sugest is that maybe go up to one of the girls he suposidly(sp) cheated on. Ask her. This way you have another confermation. If the other girls say no, then you have nothing to worry about. But, if they tell you 'yeah, we went on a date' then you have to confront your bf about this.

okay so today i went to the pool
but i got out and went home cuz i had to go to the restroom, when i wiped there was light red but not dark or a lot and in my swimsuit it just looked like discharge.
well 30 minutes later i checked and there was no blood. now im not due for my period yet but then again im irregular because i first got it in feb. of 08
i had it for 5 days [april 1-5]
so am i getting my period or spotting or what im so confused!!

you could have been just spotting. It's no big deal really. Since you are still so young, that will happen along with your period being irregular. It's annoying, but there is nothing we can really do about it.

In the last week and a half , ive gained 17 lbs , and it deffinitly shows.
I need to loose this in around 3 weeks.

I think my main problem is I over eat, i eat like every second of my life.
What can i do, to loose this by 3 weeks,.?
