This is going to be the strangest question ever. My grandmother and my mother both carried a Bible as part of their bouquet for their weddings. I want to do the same. There are 4 possible Bibles that would fit the bill.
#1-Grandmother's Bible-She isn't around, and she wouldn't let my mom carry it. It's a faded ivory.

#2-Mom's Bible-She carried it, but she is now divorced. So maybe superstitiously, I don't really want to carry it. I will already be wearing her veil. It is white.

#3-The Bible I was given when I was Baptized. It's blue, and a little stained due to a fire. I don't think anyone will see the stained.

#4-The Bible I was given at or near birth with my name written on it. It is a very light pink.

All of these Bibles mean something to me. They aren't huge, so weight shouldn't be an issue. One day I want the blue one, and one day I want grandmother's Bible. What's your opinion?

The one you received when you were baptized... besides, it's blue and a bride always needs something blue to carry down the isle with her.

PLEASE HELP ME!!!! I've been invited to a pool party, but the problem is that i've got to wear a bikini and i've noticed some fairly noticable hair on my chest and stomach and it's on ym back aswell. You can see it in the light and when it gets wet, it's REALLY noticable. Does anyone know what to do????? I will rate 5s for good advice.

P.S. I can't wear a costume, i haven't got one and it's too late to go and buy one now!!!!

I'm really sure someone is holding a gun to your head saying that, "You has to wear this bikini or I'm going to kill you!" But since you "got to", you can try either waxing or a depilatory (hair removal cream). Under no circumstances should you try shaving the area! If you start shaving, the hair will only come back darker and thicker and no one wants that.

In the long run, you might want to look into laser hair removal or electrolysis for a more permanent solution to hair removal.

Good luck to you.

my cell phone plan is verizon and I know I have free nights and weekends. free nights starts at 9pm, but what time does it end? I'm only allowed to talk on my phone when it's free nights and weekends. Last night my boyfriend called my cell phone at 4:15am, and the day before he called me around 3am. Will I get charged for this? what time does free nights end?

It all depends of what plan you are on nad what Company you are going through. You might want to give Verizon a call and see what the actual time is, but I'm pretty sure that three or four in the morning counts as freetime/non-peak hours. So... in short you shouldn't be charge for the calls, but you should call your rep just to make sure of the actual times. Lord knows I wouldn't want any unexplained/surprise charges on my bill.

Hope this helps.

im 19 yrs old, college sophomore, i met my ex "james" when i was a senior in high school. strangley enough my friend "pat" put my pic up on hot or not and "james" saw it and clicked meet me. come to find out he went to my high school and graduated a few years ahead of me. his brother was also one of my high school friends.

he was in the army when i met him, (this was in december of my high school year) he had been over seas for 2 years. we talked online and on the phone to eachother every chance we got and he came down on leave for his brothes grad party which i was invited to because his brother and i were friends.

we started hanging out and eventually dating. i broke up with him before i left for college because i didnt want to worry about having a bf and his school and mine were 2 hours apart. he told me he loved me but i broke up with him reguardless

he now has a gf "kerry". he started dating her 2 months after we broke up. apparently he used to date her before he left for iraq. they have been dating ever since.

well the reason i am writing is because after him and i broke it off we still continuted to talk and even hang out on occasion. he has been cheating on "kerry" with me for the past month and 1/2.

"james" tells me that he is probably going back overseas to fight in october. he told me that i should get over him because he isnt sure when or if he is going to come back. and i deserve a guy who is going to be there for me(he is sched for 2 years over there. i dont know what i should do. i dont know if he is still with "kerry" because he loves her or if its not the right time to break up with her or if he is going to break it off when he goes, if he loves me still i just dont know what to think. i need someone to look at the situation from another stand point and give me some advice, i am at a total loss.

If he's cheating on "kerry" with you for the past month and a half, who is to say he wouldn't do the same to you? From my standpoint it sounds like you're being used. He's taken advantage of you and if he was serious about having a relationship or in love with you he wouldn't care whether or not he's going back overseas, he'd still try to make the relationship work and/or break up with this other girl. It doesn't seem like he even wants to try.

If I was in your shoes I'd try to remain friends with the guy, but consider yourself single and able to date other people. You might try talking to him about it, but I wouldn't expect anything from it.

Sorry to be so harsh about it, but I can't stand guys that do that kind of stuff. If they do it once, they'll do it again and you don't deserve that kind of treatment. No one does.

Good luck to you.

Okay, I'm ususally the one giving the advice, not asking for it, but here goes...

School's going to be starting up again soon which means that the Homecoming activities will be coming up before too long. I was thinking about getting my nails done before the dance. I've never had my nails done before, so this is all new to me. What I want are those arcrylic nails that they don't paint on. I don't know if you know what I'm talking about or not... but they look like real nails, but they're fake. And I don't want the people at the nail salon to paint them either, because the dress I'm going to wear is black and white. I just need to know what this is called so I don't waste my money on something that isn't the right thing.

I'm not really sure what you are asking, but I'll give it a shot anyway. There are basically two kinds of fake nails that you would get from a salon: tips and Acrylic overlay. Tips are an extension of your nail, the manicurist would glue a plastic tip to your nail and then overlay it with and acrylic or silk wrap. An Acrylic overlay just goes over your natural nails in order to strengthen them. But if you don't want a colored nail polish there is a technique used on both called a french manicure that looks like natural nails somewhat. With a french manicure the manicurist will paint the very tip of the nail white and then overcoat with a skin tone making the fake nail (or sometimes real ones) look like a very clean natural nail.

Hope this helps you and if not I'd make a call to your local manicurist and see if they have some other options open for you. Good luck!

I was wondering how you a burn a CD i dont believe i got any sort of program but can you burn it if yuo got windows mdeia player?

Not only do you need software (like Windows Media Player) to burn CDs, but you need the hardware to support it as well. If you have an older computer chances are that it is a normal CD-ROM drive or a DVD/CD-ROM drive and not a CD burner. Check your system stats by going into your Control Panel, double-click System, click Device Manager. Scroll down to DVD/CD-ROM drive and click the little cross next to it and look at the drives listed. If the equiptment says CDRW means the drive is capable of reading CDs and writing to CDs meaning you can burn CDs. You also need actual CDs that are writeable as well.

Hopes this helps.

I have a summer project to do and I'm not sure how to use the MLA format to document these articles I had to read. They're compiled in a book, from other places. Do I need to recognize the book in my documenting? The book has the articles documented but it doesn't include the book. An answer or a place where I could go to find the answer would help! Thanks so much!

Yes, you always need to cite sources; inside the paper you are writing and a works cited page at the end of a paper. Since you are using MLA formatting and since the articles are compiled in a book you'd list the book as well as the articles. This page should help you out: http://www.stchas.edu/library/mla.shtml for the works cited page. As far as documenting inside the paper: you'd quote the article and afterwards in parantheses put the page number/s if you are using only one book. If you are using several books you'd put the author's or editor's, of the book, last name before the page number inside the parantheses leaving a space between the two; like this (Kennon 45-56).

Hope this helps you out and if you have anymore questions please feel free to drop me a line via a private question.

Okay, for starters, I'm 30, male.
I've been with my girlfriend for over 6 years, she's such a sweet person and I love her, but you know the excitement of the beginning has faded.

Now there's this girl, she's our common friend and she's amazingly beautiful, she's something special. What's amazing is that she never had a stable relationship although she certainly would like to.
Now I feel something changing inside me, my way of thinking about this other girl; can it be love? I don't really know, because we're pretty different and I don't think we could have a durable relationship, but somehow I feel an overwhelming attraction for her, and I DO know sex with her would be incredible.

Being such a sensitive person as I am, I am going through a horrible time, the only thing positive being my loss of appetite; my gf has noticed it and I and I have more or less dismissed it as a temporary situaton because of work, friends and all (it's been a hard year in those aspects), but she's probably thinking there may be a relationship problem behind this.

Now what to do? Shall I tell her? this could destroy our friendship, and I would really regret that (I guess it depends on how sympathetic and understanding a person you are), but I know I could give her some of the love and attention she deserves... I am also thinking about telling my girlfriend, she deserves sincerity, but who knows where this could bring us... At the moment I am thinking about telling the other girl, just to get it off my chest; she will probably reject me, but keeping it inside is hurting me. Telling my gf is in my mind too, but I'm not sure about it.

I can't help but feel this mixture of love and attraction/lust for her, and it's killing me. I don't believe denying it would rid me completely of her. I guess you can love two people at the same time, though I never thought I'd be in this situation myself. Damn, damn heart...

Communication is the key to any good relationship. You need to talk to your girlfirend about this instead of leaving her in the dark. Yes, physical attraction may fade for some after a while, but just because you feel a strong sexual bond or connection with another person doesn't mean you should throw away the relationship you and your girlfriend have worked on.

Tell your girlfriend. Do NOT under any circumstances tell the other girl of your feelings. Chances are, like yg said, they're friends, she'll end up telling your girlfriend about it. Plus, if you don't tell your girlfriend and tell this other girl how you feel you might end up losing both of them. And I don't think you want that.

Ultimately it's all up to you. Either way someone is going to get hurt in this situation: your girlfriend if you don't talk to her about it and/or break up with her; the friend if she accepts (because, lord knows, their friendship will probably end); or you keeping it hidden inside and/or getting rejected by both.

I can tell you what I would do if I was in your shoes... If there was no open communication, no bond whatsoever with the girl that you're with now talk to her about it. Either come to an understanding and work on it to make things better or end it now. Try making a list of pros and cons and see who wins, but be honest about the list. That way you can make a more informed decision when you decide to make one.

Good luck to you.

i was wondering how i use paypal. i want to use it on my xanga so ppl can send me donations but i was wondering if it cost me anything just to have the account and if i can do it with the basic personal one that i have. please give me any other info that you have on it too to help me. the web site just confused me.

Paypal does not cost anything to use unless you are opening up a business or merchant account. You do have to have either a credit card or chacking/savings account in order to use it though. Paypal handles online transactions, it is not a bank; so you need a place where the money goes. You also need a valid e-mail address to use and probably your parents permission if you aren't 18.

Hope this helps and if you need any more information: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_help-ext&source_page=_help-ext

EDIT (in response to feedback): If you are purchasing from a seller on Ebay, then you don't have to do anything else; that is unless the seller requires you to be a verified user of Paypal. In order to sell on Ebay you need to be a verified user. In order to have a verified account through Paypal you have to have a checking or savings account set on your Paypal account.

what foods are filling that you don't have to eat a lot of and will keep you full for a while and are good for you?

Anything that has a high fiber content will make you feel full faster without having to eat a lot of. Things that are high in fiber are: fruits and vegetables; breads and pasta that are whole grain; brown rice; etc.

My course at university only allows me to take a certain number of credits (this is the same for all students, irrespective of how they do academically). There is this course I'd really like to do, but I've already got all the credits I'm allowed to take and there's nothing I can really drop. I like this course enough that I'm thinking of doing it despite the fact that I wouldn't be allowed to take the exam at the end and wouldn't get any creditpoints from it which would go towards my final graduating grade. Is this a stupid idea? I really can't see there being issues with me managing my time even with the additional load, as my current work load is really reasonable. On the other hand, I feel like I'd be wasting time doing an elective I'd get no credit for academically. It's by no means an easy course and it's not something that will be useful to me, it's just something I'm interested in. Is it worth taking on more just because it's interesting?

I admire anyone that would even consider taking a course just because it interests them. I personally feel that, even though it may not go toward your degree or career choice, it betters you as a person. If you are concerned that you won't have the time this semester, or feel that it would be too much work, see if the course is offered during the fall or summer semesters. That way you have time to take the class without hurting your other requirements.

Knowledge of anykind is never a bad thing. Willing to keep learning and wanting to learn is a character trait that more people should have.

Good luck to you.

Sorry this is such a long question but I need help:

Ok my grandma died in April but why am I still crying about her? Every little thing about her makes me cry. None of my family members are crying anymore. She has been close to all of us and will always be dear to my heart. She came in her little cart because she couldn't walk just to see my sister play a softball game. She died so suddnely. She died at a Grizzlies game and that was the best place for her to die. How do I stop crying and thinking about her everytime I hear her name or think about her?

Everyone mourns in their own ways. While one person may cry just for the funeral and put it aside afterwards, there is no reason why you should have to. And it's okay to think about her and miss her, she was an important part of your life. You just have to try to remember the goods times you had with her and things she liked to do. That way, instead of unhappy tears, the tears will be happy. She lived a long full life and has earned her reward. Yes, It's hard for those of us that are left behind but we will meet up with them again.

*hugs* Good luck to you.

i have old books and i was wondering instead of donating them can i bring to the library to sell them? or should i bring to a bookstore to sell them?

They do have places called consignment book stores. Like consignment clothes stores, you bring in your items and get paid and/or get credit to make purchases at that shop. A really good way to swap read books for ones that you haven't read.

My name on advicenators is Artistegirly, well someone deleted the cookies on our computer and it logged me out from my "constantly logged in" state...the problem is, I forget my password and have changed my e-mail address since. (without updating my info on 'vicenators) Is there any way a mod can get my password?

Again, I'm artistegirly.

Thank you so much for you help!

Your best bet would be to contact a lvl 3 moderator about this problem. You can find one at:

I'm 14/f and I know I should be reading advanced books because I'm in 11th grade Honors english even though I'm a freshman. And, generally, I do. But a lot of the time I like to read books that are, well, sappy romance novels. Like the book version of soap operas. Big time guilty pleasure!!! I feel so guuuuuuuilty about it. It's like cheap candy, tasty to eat only not very nourishing, but it's a book. And since my family is big on reading "advanced literature" and my mom would freak out if she knew I was reading them, and I don't know whether it's ok for a person of my level of reading to be reading these!? I know it sounds like I'm being a snobby bitch that needs to be reassured of her own level but I'm not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks a lot!!!!!

x0x0

♥ Lulu

If I was your mom I'd just be glad you are reading. Not many young adults these days enjoy reading any kind of literature. Besides, not all romance novels are worthless. Take for instance, myself. I have learned a great deal of history no one else would typically know about just from reading historical romance novels. Just because it's reading for fun doesn't mean you aren't taking or learning anything from reading it.

Also, if your mom does freak, explain to her that some Shakespeare is sappy romance... Who knows, a hundred years from now the people in the future might think that Nora Roberts or Jude Devereaux are great writers of our time.

Just keep on reading! It does the brain good.

Does anyone know where I can find some good writing classes?

You might want to try at your local community college or community center. Or, if you are still in high school, you might want to talk to your guidance counselor, they may have the resources to point you in the right direction.
