MLA

Question Posted Tuesday August 9 2005, 4:28 pm

I have a summer project to do and I'm not sure how to use the MLA format to document these articles I had to read. They're compiled in a book, from other places. Do I need to recognize the book in my documenting? The book has the articles documented but it doesn't include the book. An answer or a place where I could go to find the answer would help! Thanks so much!

Try easybib.com if you need an MLA works cited.

Do cite your sources, Otherwise you could be accused of plagarism.

Yes, you always need to cite sources; inside the paper you are writing and a works cited page at the end of a paper. Since you are using MLA formatting and since the articles are compiled in a book you'd list the book as well as the articles. This page should help you out: [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) for the works cited page. As far as documenting inside the paper: you'd quote the article and afterwards in parantheses put the page number/s if you are using only one book. If you are using several books you'd put the author's or editor's, of the book, last name before the page number inside the parantheses leaving a space between the two; like this (Kennon 45-56).

Hope this helps you out and if you have anymore questions please feel free to drop me a line via a private question.
