i have old books and i was wondering instead of donating them can i bring to the library to sell them? or should i bring to a bookstore to sell them?

libraries only take donations as far as i know. sell them to a used bookstore like half price books. i think platos closet takes popular teen books too. another thing you could do is donate them to goodwill and get a tax deduction. (i dunno if libraries do that or not). if all else fails, have a garage sale or sell them to classmates. hope this helps! <3

♥You can't sell books to most libraries, they only accept donations unless it's a one of a kind rare book. Regular book stores such as Borders, Barnes & Noble, Books a million, etc. won't take used books either. Try finding a used book store or consignment to sell them to. You could also sell them on Ebay or Amazon.

They do have places called consignment book stores. Like consignment clothes stores, you bring in your items and get paid and/or get credit to make purchases at that shop. A really good way to swap read books for ones that you haven't read.

I don't think a libary will "buy" used books from anyone off the street. They usualy take donations. However a used book store will - like Half Price Books (you woun't get much though).
Your best bet is to sell them online - somewhere like amazon.com.

try bringing them to a book store where the books are used...just make sure there in decent condition otherwise they dont accept them for very much

You can donate books to just about anywhere. The library doesn't usually buy books from individuals though. Your best best would be to take them to a used book store like Half Price books or a local neighborhood bookstore. Sometimes you will either get store credit, points, or cash. You could also sell on Ebday or have a garage sale. :)
