does anyone know the name of and who this song is by?
i heard it when i was watching newport harbor and it goes a bit like "you've got my heart in a chokehold, not allowing the blood flow to my head" ?
or something like that.
i'm sorry that's not much to go by, but the song was lovely, and i can't find it anywhere and would appreciate your help a lot. [:

I really like this guy. He's my age and we're really good friends. Call it best friends if you want. We're both a little shy. I can't seem to say I like him and he can't either. Is there an easy way to tell him I like him without saying it to his face?
Note: Please don't tell me to just say it to his face. I don't have the guts. (link)
|
i'd have a friend "accidentally" tell him.
either like let is "slip"
or be like hey ___ likes you but i wasn't supposed to tell you that :/
so either ay is a good way to let him know
good luck!
keep me updatedd =]

Of course you can say it not to his face. If your friends, you should be able to contact him in an e-mail. Tell him something like this
I'm sorry I couldn't say this to your face. I'm really shy but you've been on my mind. I really like you and I hope you like me too. Please call me.
I know it sounds cheesy and you can revise, but try that. You can also call him! Your not saying it to his face because he isn't there! He's on the phone.

this guy asked me togo see a movie and his like wayy older then me like aboout 3 years lets say and i dont if he means like a date or just to hnag out ??? cuz im 15 and his 18 so i dont he was all like so u wanna go to the movies and i dont if its date or not?? (link)
| |
When you say he's wayy older than you, that isn't really old! Your 15 and he's 18, not much difference! As a child, kids think 3 years is a major difference even though it isn't! Think of your mom and dad. There age difference is about 1-5 years, or a little more, but that's it! You don't need to worry about him being 18. Next to answer your real question, I think it's a date! I think he think yours cute and he asked you to see a movie. I think it's a date so dress up nicely!

im 14/f my b.f and i broke up like a week ago and he got a g.f and i kinda got a b.f i dont no but w/e anyways im 14 as i said before and the guy that i might be going out wit is 17 so is that to old?? or like im tooo young ?? or is it ok ??? (link)
| |
I don't think your too young and I don't think your b/f is too old. Three years isn't a difference at all! How old is your mom? How old is your dad? There age difference should be arond 1-5 years difference. Nothing much! If you start dating 23 year olds, way different story, lol. To make my point, I shouldn't worry about the age difference but your 14 and he's only 17. Just happily date him don't worry!

hey. well, i'm 14/f. well, i'm just gonna cut to the chase. i suck at talking to boys. i've just started high school, and i always see all these girls talking to guys and giving them hugs and stuff, but i'm just too shy and not good at talking to them. i know their just other people, but somehow i find that when i get around guys i tend to be mean and rebelious (sp). i'm not lesbian or bi or anything, but idk. there was this one guy last year in like all of my classes and i really liked him, and i mean a lot, and i could always talk to him pretty well, but he's not in any of my classes this year, and he has a gf, and i still like him. but idk. i just need some HELP! thanks! (link)
| |
I'm the same way. All you need is to overcome your fear, that's all! It's difficult though. The first step is to just talk to them like there your friend. If you see a guy you like when he's by himself, talk to him. When he's alone, he's the pefect to talk to because he doesn't have his friends judging him. First, he's gotta know you. It's kinda weird just walking up to him and say hi. Show your trueself so he can at least know you. If you have a class with him, then try to show yourself so he knows you. If you don't, lunch is a good time. Let your friends fool around and you can just follow and talk to him. It's weird, but I do it and it works like a charm. if you don't understand, I'll give you more detail, just ask again with your questions.

I'm in 8th grade. i'm taking a field trip to dorney park this year.i was wondering, is dorney park seperated into 2-water rides and roller coasters- like six flags (hurricane harbor and great adventure). or is it all together? i really don't like water rides, i love roller coasters. plus i dont really want to be wearing a bikini around all the guys in my grade. just tell me whatever you know, and maybe how it worked if you took a field trip there? (link)
| |
OMG no...I love Dorney soooo much more!!! When you go in, you see a bunch of dry rides to the left, but to the right is all the water slides! You only have to pay the entrance fee, and you get both water and dry rides to go on. It's not that hard to get around there, so don't worry about it. There are so many people that wear bikinis and they are like HUGE with stretch marks too! Just wear a cute like kind of surf shirt that you go in the wate with over your top, so that you are covered. I wear them all the time, you can find them in places like Sport's Authority, and Dick's Sporting Goods> They are really cute, they come in different colors or just plain. Don't worry about the water rides, some might be scarier then others, but some are just really "non-scary" meaning there are all different types, the high ones, low ones, and medium ones. I was scared to but trust me you will have a BLAST, just being there with your friends will be enough! Have a great time!

I'm usually really good with cravings but willpower is a b*tch sometimes and it's hard.
What's the best way to avoid cravings coming? And if they're inevitable, what's the best way to not give into them? (link)
| |
Well, first off, try to take your mind off of your stomach. Watching tv usually helps me, also, chewing gum or sucking on a mint helps really well. If there is a craving you just can't bare, try to eat something healthy like fruit, or a 100 calorie bar. GoOd LuCk!!!
|
|
If you put something in your mouth long enough untill you taste it but don't actually swallow it, do you still get the calories or no? (link)
| |
i hope youre not planning on starving yourself.... and no..you dont gain the calories, because you never actually swallowed the food :)
|
ok, well I am 7-10 years older than my little sisters and brother. When I was growing up I was only allowed to watch an hour of tv a week and my parents made me eat a green vegetable with every meal and all that. My parents split up, so now I have little siblings, but they are technically my half siblings. I love them so much, but I feel like my dad and stepmom like, don't care. It's not that they don't love them, i mean they do, a TON. They are great, loving parents. I'm 15/f and whenever I get involved, like commenting on how much tv they watch (they watch a lot) or the fact that the only vegetable they eat is carrots, my step mom gets mad at me. I can't really talk to my dad alone because he gets defensive as well and thinks I'm only saying this because I don't get along with my step mom. I love these kids and I really want them to be healthy, so what should I do? I'm a really anxious, worried person as it is, so it bothers me knowing that they are frying their brains and not getting proper nutrients in their diet. I don't know what to do!
please help (link)
|
Basically, as parents have more kids they usually aren't as strict. My younger brother got to do so much more and was spoiled more than my older brother and I were. It's not that they don't care anymore, it's just that they don't think it's necessary to be as strict.
It may be that, or that your mom enforced those rules when your parents were still together and your dad went along with your mom.
Whatever the reason, obviously arguing with your dad and step mom about it isn't going to work. Try not to let them feel like they're raising their kids wrong, parents don't like that and it'll make them get defensive.
What you should do is try to get your siblings to like fruits and veggies. Go on the internet and search healthy snack recipes. There's many out there that you can make that taste good and that the kids will like. Once your dad and step mom see that they like them, they'll start buying more and gradually you can make the things in your pantry and fridge healthier.
Take your siblings outside to play instead of watching t.v. Teach them games, or just take them to a park so they can play on a swing set or something like that. They'll see that being outside can be more fun than watching t.v. Also, if you know of any friend's they have, ask their parents if it's okay for them to go to the park as well so they have them to play with.
So there's things you can do if you don't like they way they are right now that don't challenge your parent's authority. Also, getting more than an hour a week of t.v. is okay, as long as it isn't all they do. I'm sure if you get them outside though, that'll change. You can also ask your parents to sign them up for a team sport. Soccer, basketball, volleyball, football, whatever.

Hi, I really hope you can help; i've gotten mixed responses from others...
Basically, my BF discovered that in my senior year of college (I graduated last year) I had taken two semesters worth of judo classes and he thought this was really funny b/c I don't look like, I guess, a "typical" jock chick--that is i'm not muscular or buff or whatever...i'm your stereotypical "girly girl" in appearance--tall, skinny, blond hair, blah blah blah and I'm like 125 lbs....so he's laughing at me, calling me "judogirl", etc., and I was fine w/all that, if a little annoyed, but then he made a mistake: he challenged me to a wrestling match...and I beat him.
He outweighs me by like 40 lbs. and is pretty strong but he didn't understand that my judo skills would use his strength against him and he just couldn't believe I won. I figured it was a one-time deal, but he was so bent out of shape that he's challenged me several times since then, and I've defeated him every time. It would be OK if he didn't take it so seriously, but he just becomes this mean pouty jerk when he loses and keeps challenging me and now i've refused to wrestle him b/c it's no fun and I hate his sexist attitude as well. But refusing to wrestle just makes him angrier and he says stuff like "you're just afraid i'll figure out your 'tricks' and win...it's so annoying!
I've considered just faking it and letting him win but I don't REALLY want to do that b/c I'm proud of my skills, and just wish he would be too...plus when he baits me w/all this "you're just a girl" crap, it gets my goat and i'm more than happy to throw him to the floor and pin him when he gets too tired to fight me off...
Have you ever beaten a boy at something athletic--whether martial arts or sports--or know a girl who has? B/c maybe if I can tell him he's not the only one he won't feel so bad... (link)
| |
You're boyfriend is just being a little...well, bitch lol. I haven't personally beaten a guy at a wrestling or arm wrestling unless the guy let me win. I have though won at sports and such. Guys are usually bigger and stronger so they do usually have the advantage but that doesn't mean a girl can't beat them. Specially if she's had the training you've had. Just ask him to stop being such a baby about it because getting that belt was important to you and he should be proud of what you've accomplished. He shouldn't sit there and tell you that you got lucky when you beat him. You didn't get lucky, you knew what you were doing because you learned it.
|
ok this is really stupid and weird, but anyway... every so often my boyfriend will call me up and ask me "would you ever go out with john?" or "do you think tom is hot?". and usually, "john" or "tom" is sitting right next to him. or sometimes, john or tom will call me up and ask if i'd ever go out with them. and i know my bf is right there and told them to ask me that.
so i have two questions:
1) how do i answer that question? if i say "no, i'd never go out with you", that sounds kinda mean. but if i say "yes" or "maybe", then my bf will get mad and think i like them.
2) why in the world is my bf doing this?? i mean what is his motivation? (link)
|
so when they ask you out be like "nooo tomm i have a boyfriend"
which may end up with the follow up questsion of: "but WOULD you ever go out"
in which you say: "right now all i want to think about it me and -bfs namee- and how happy we are"
and your boyfriend could be doing this to see your loyalty or maybe hes just wierd haha

I know this isn't really asking for advice, but the last few days I was just thinking about this and wondering why the people here joined.
I guess it is just out of pure curiosity. I would have just posted this in the moderator forum or in the supporter discussion, but I'd rather see why everyone joined rather than just those who have been here for some time and such.
So, why did you join advicenators and why are you still here? What about the site made you want to stay?
I'll probably be one of the first people to answer this (I'm not going to answer it in the question).

Well, you didn't really tell me how old you are but I'll assume teenagerish. I would babysit, clean the house, do yardwork...that's all i can think of without actually applying for a job.

I am 15 and am male. I look like i'm 13 and I want to look older. I have a fit body but my face and hair make me look younger how do I look older. (link)
| |
Well, personally I think short hair on guys kind of make them look younger. So if you have short hair try growing it out.

i went on ticketmaster.com on saturday and bought 3 tickets to a WNBA NY Liberty game on sunday. there was an $8.25 convenience charge. my friend said that meant they're charging an extra $8.25 becuase i bought the tickets the day before the game. but they have another game on friday, and i went on ticketmaster.com right now to buy more tickets but there's still an $8.25 convenience charge. what is that?! (link)
| |
That's extra money that goes to ticketmaster. They don't run that website for free and every time you buy a ticket from them, they charge a little extra for themselves.

ok, i found this one site, with really cute clothes. but when i look and see how much it is, it says £16.00 whys that E or whatever there? does that mean its not american money? how much is it? is it just 16 dollars? or more or less?
ahh help. (link)
|
Its pounds (english currency)
one british pound is about two american dollars
http://www.x-rates.com/calculator.html#
Do convert from british pounds to american dollars
and it says that 16 pounds is 31.7248 USD
so its $31.7
