I want to sing for the talent show. A number of my friends told me i should.
I want to know some ballads or really beautiful sounding songs that's range goes (maximum) from the G below middle C to the second F# above middle c.

I was thinking of singing Adia by Sarah Mclachlan
I can play the piano well too.. so also please if you can suggest songs that are sorta easy to play on the piano too.

I'm going to be a freshman this year, but a few years back, when I was a sixth and seventh grader, I was constantly teasted by this boy who called be bighead (ok, so my head is bigger than normal). During eigth grade when he left for high school, it was the best year. He used to tease me, and when I told him to stop he'd just laugh. Ignoring him didn't work either. Now I'm worried he's going to be up to his old habits again. How should I handle this? By the way, there is no way I can go to the guidance counselor or tell an adult, I just can't, so please tell me how i can handle this myself.

If you don't want to/can't go to an adult, here's what you do. I know that this is a cliche, but ignore him. Bullies like kids who get bothered and who's feelings get hurt easily. So next time he calls you Bighead, you just put your head up and keep doing whatever you're doing. As soon as he sees that his teasing is useless, he will stop. But if he keeps teasing you after that, then he has a crush on you because he'd be paying you so much attention!

what do you do when your parentswant to do something you dont want to do for example church?

You can't really get out of something like that. But if your parents want you to go to church, I'd just humor them and go along, but not really pray or pay much attention to the sermons. When parents try to make kids go to church, basically they just want God to touch their lives, and parents can only control that to a certain limit. They can make kids go to church, but really its you who decides whether you want God to touch your life or not, and if you don't want to, then you don't have to.

ok well i had my peroid and i thought it was over bc well it stopped fer a while and i already ruined my FAV shorts but my mom cleaned them and they are faded now and i was wearing a thong and those shorts and it came bacK!!!!! what should i do.. n is it normal to have it stop fer like hours?? and ya??

Yeah, it's normal for it to stop for a couple of hours. Just remember to always wear a pad/tampon, because things like that happen. Man, I'm sorry about those shortts, though. Once when I was in the 6th grade, I was having my period and it went away for a day and then it came back and it was all over the seat of my favorite blue jeans and everyone was laughing at me...

I completely accept that no one else can tell someone whether they are in love or not but does anyone else find it a little silly when people say they are completely in love with someone they have never dated or kissed, or dated for a week or so?

I almost find it offensive. I don't like that word being taken so lightly and thrown around. Does this annoy anyone else here, or am I being too judgmental?

It sure is silly. I think that you have to really know the person, devote yourself to that person (NOT see another cute guy and "fall in love" with him suddenly) and appreciate them for who they are, not the way they look, to really love someone. Like, if they put on a lot of weight you would still love them. And the person has to make you feel good about yourself, too. It drives me crazy when the girls in my class sometimes get a good look at a cute boy and go "Omigod! He's so HOT! I'm totally in love!" This kind of stuff happens in literature all the time, which I think is even crazier. Think of Les Miserables, Colette gets a good look at Marius and she's never even talked to him and she's all like "I'm in love!" or in Romeo and Juliet, they always think they're in love and stuff, but they're only in like 4 scenes together! I just hate that.

okay i have a question for girls... ive got the worst cramps right now.. like i feel like im going to die... does anyody have any at home remedys or somethin to make em go away... i already took 2 tylonol and a calcuim pill... but what else can i do to make em not hurt so bad, or even better, go away!! please help

Ok, here's a home remedy for you. This is what I do when I get cramps, and it'll make them go away for a while. Boil some brown sugar and orange peels into water and drink it. But it has to be hot. Whatever you do, KEEP YOURSELF WARM. Sit under an electric blanket. Take a hot shower. Don't eat anything cold because that will make the blood not circulate as well and make it hurt more. Like everyone else said, take a hot bath, but I wouldn't recommend that if you're not wearing a tampon because the water will get kind of dirty from your skin and enter in your vagina and that's not good while your having your period. If all else fails, take an Advil or two Ibuprofens/Motrin. Tylenol is kind of a weak choice and doesn't help as well. TRUST ME. I know I sound like a know-it-all but I know ALOT on this topic and since my mom is a doctor she's been helping me on this kind of stuff for years...

When I wake up and I take my first steps out of bed sometimes my feet crack. it hurts really bad and I feel the bones in my feet moving around. What is this and why does it happen when I am sitting for a while?

It's just because your foot has been inactive for a very long period of time (namely, while you were asleep) and the bones have gone all stiff and so it cracks a little when you first use it. Hope I helped

NO. It's NOT a good idea to arrange to see someone you've met online. You have NO idea who this guy is. For all you know, "Dean" who says he's from Kansas could be a 45-year-old pervert in Petaluma. This girl I know who was 16 met up with this other 16-year-old guy online who helped her with her problems and stuff, much like your situation. They met up at a restaurant in California and he was really a 50-year-old and raped her. Just because your best mate introduced him doesn't make it safe. She could've met him online as well. Even if you live in a small town you may think "what's the harm? where I live nobody's really that dangerous." But the internet is available to everyone all over the world, and whoever you met online could easily take a plane from South Dakota to Oregon. PLEASE DO NOT meet up with this guy! Well, if you are a teenage it doesn't necessarily mean you're gay. First of all, you aren't gay because you love your boyfriend, right? During puberty, your hormones funk around and it makes you do things like that. I mean, you very well could be BISEXUAL, but unless you've had a history of liking and girls and guys at the same time, I doubt it. Almost all girls go through this stage (of liking other girls) but it doesn't mean they're gay. I even liked a girl once but I'm not gay! Also, I know you might not like this, but the girl you like probably doesn't feel the same about you, because unless she's had a history of liking girls. And gay people are the minority, so I can assume she's probably not gay.

went out for 3 years. I went to flordia and one of my friends asked him out and he said yes and dumped me. I know...harsh..right?! well...we're still really good friends and him, my bf, and me went swimming bout a week ago and we ended up making out and I almost lost my virginity. Eeeew...what a creep! He dumps you for no apparent reason, then he starts doing stuff with this other girl, then makes out with you again! It's heartbreaking. But as most people will tell you to take your mind off it, I say brood about it as long as you can. It feels great to let it all out. Don't give up on him yet. Who knows, maybe he'll eventually see that you're the one he should like. I know it feels awful, but just keep your head up.

I know EXACTLY what you mean! That's EXACTLY what happened to me. What I think you should do is carry on a relationship with someone, but don't tell your parents. Only don't take it very far. Keep it to a bare minimum, like school dances and IM and whatnot. So it's not technically a real relationship, but generally speaking it is. I mean it'll be a boyfriend, but not a serious relationship. Trust me, when I was in the 7th grade I did this. If they find out, if they're anything at all like my parents, they'd probably get a little pissed off and might even resent that you never told them, but it won't last very long. And when you get into high school you can have a serious relationship!

Hello. Im starting to excersize to lose weight and i was wondering..I like to eat salad with just lemon and salt, but i only eat lettuce..lol not much of a salad so basically lettuce in a bowl with lemon and salt on top..is that alot of carbs/calories?

Noooo, there's MUCH more harm than just puking. Thats not anorexia, your talking about bulimia. With eating disorders, you don't eat anything and your body doesn't get the proper amount nutrients. It ruins your hair and some people even lose their hair! Your menstrual cycle doesn't function very well because your body needs at LEAST 18% fat! Because of lack of food, your organs will bloat and you'll actually look bigger. Anorexia has killed many people. Remember Terry Schavo (assuming that you live in the United States) going into that vegetative state? She was anorexic before her medula shut down. Do NOT go anorexic, it can threaten your life. You NEED fat to stay healthy and even if you think you are overweight, you should ALWAYS consult a doctor before going on your own little thing.

First measure around your ribs.



22-23 inches = 28 (Rib #)
24-25 inches = 30 (Rib #)
26-27 inches = 32 (etc)
28-29 inches = 34

Then measure around your chest over the nipples. Subtract your rib NUMBER (NOT size) from your chest size.
