take a really hot bath or just lay down with a heating pad on it. basically heat helps alot becasue it relazes the muscles so just keep heat on it anyway you can and it should get better.

Advil liquid gels work really fast for me, but hot tea helps. Also, there are bean bags that you put in the microwave and then lay across your stomach... that helps ALOT. Hope this helped a little.

ScratchesOnTheWall answered Wednesday August 17 2005, 3:56 pm:
To begin with, sit at home and feel sorry for yourself-demand that people acknowledge, sympathise with and, if at all possible, share your pain. If you have brothers/ boyfriend/ male friends use the opportunity to freak them out by discussing details of your pain with a girlfriend in a very loud voice. This will provide you with a lot of Laughter Therapy.

On a more serious note, these guys are right- hot-water bottles (or whatever you call them in the good ol' US of A) are great.

Exercise-wise I'd go with swimming assuming you're using a tampon coz it lets you move but supports your body at the same time to avoid that feeling your uterus is being bashed about with a hammer.

Hope this helps.

Try Aleve. Also called Naproxen.

Peppermint also helps. Brew yourself a cup of tea, grab a heating pad, pop an Aleve... and feel better.

Ok, here's a home remedy for you. This is what I do when I get cramps, and it'll make them go away for a while. Boil some brown sugar and orange peels into water and drink it. But it has to be hot. Whatever you do, KEEP YOURSELF WARM. Sit under an electric blanket. Take a hot shower. Don't eat anything cold because that will make the blood not circulate as well and make it hurt more. Like everyone else said, take a hot bath, but I wouldn't recommend that if you're not wearing a tampon because the water will get kind of dirty from your skin and enter in your vagina and that's not good while your having your period. If all else fails, take an Advil or two Ibuprofens/Motrin. Tylenol is kind of a weak choice and doesn't help as well. TRUST ME. I know I sound like a know-it-all but I know ALOT on this topic and since my mom is a doctor she's been helping me on this kind of stuff for years...

Exercise helps, so try taking a walk or jog around the neighborhood. You can also take a nice warm bath and put a heating pad on and just lay down and read or listen to music.

You know what works best? I nice hot bubble bath with loads of bubbles. It'll help you out with the cramps and will relax you a bit. Or, you could go in your room and lay on your bed with a heating pad on your stomach. Maybe listen to some soft music or watch a movie. You can also take some Advil. They work wonders too.

Like the others said, use a heating pad on your belly, or take a warm shower. Drink lots of water too because that always helps, and it will start make your mediicine work faster. Just try to relax.

You can put a heating pad on your stomach and after a while you won't feel that much pain. Or you can also sit in a bathtub for a while with warm water.

- Hope I helped.

After the medicine, if that didn't help at all right now, I think you'll just have to let them run their course. Because just a couple of months ago, before I started, I got cramps so bad, I had to go to the hospital. I'm sorry I can't think of anything else that you could do, but don't take too much more medicine..you can't mix some medicines unless its been 4 hours after. Just let them run their course. I'm really sorry.
