I'm apart of an Interact club at school and we are required to do two community service projects per semester (I think that's how it goes). As seniors we are required to do more than the underclassmen. My friends and I (about 4 of us) want to volunteer at a retirement home or a hospital to help sick children or something along those lines. Who would we have to contact to do something like that? Would be allowed to volunteer at a place like that? We want to spend time with people and play games with them or listen to them talk, just be there and "hang out" with them. What if we were to do something such as cleaning a strip of the highway? How would we go about doing that? Would there be specific dates in which we could do it or could be do it on our own time? We have to have a "supervisor" type person sign off saying we actually performed community service so I guess there would be someone that we would have to contact... Any ideas on what we should do and who we should contact. The club advisor said there wasn't any set amount of hours as long as there are two community service projects. Thanks in advance! (link)

Solidadvice pretty much has it down so I won't repeat what he/she just said. Another thing you might want to think about though is a Charity Walk. My class is doing a Walk For Autism next Saturday. What you would do is search for charity walks in your city, go to the website, start a team and get as many people to join as possible. You can either walk to event or you can do volunteer type things like hang out water, watch children, whatever else they might want you to do.

I'm 15/f (sophmore) and this guy who is a senior has hung out with me a few times and as much as I hate to say it, I'm completly smitten with him, (no this doesn't happen a lot). My boyfriend that I've been dating for a couple of months dips. He used to do it A LOT more than he does now and he says he's trying to stop (NOT for me, for him), but I don't see much progress.
I was doing some research and it says that one can of dip has the nicotine of 60 cigarettes, so I can only imagine how hard it is for him to quit. It doesn't bother me as much as it did in the beginning, but there's just one thing that I constantly think about.
I know there are horror stories for cigarettes, alcohol...all that after school special stuff...and I'm not a "goody-goody" by any means, but seeing videos and pictures and hearing stories about people developing mouth cancer or even getting parts of their jaw removed scares me to death. He's only 18 and he's been doing it for two years.
Here's my question: How can I help him quit? Every time I bring it up I feel like I'm nagging him. How can I just help him along in a subtle way that will actually work without sounding like a nag? (link)

honestly.my brother dips and his girlfriend told him that if he doesnt quit she wont kiss him .and if he continues to do it she said she would break up with him .(but she didnt mean it)she only said that to him because if he truly love her he will quit.....so just tell him that you wont kiss him.then he'll get tired of not getting them from her.so then if he keeps doing it,tell him that you will break up with him.but dont mean it.but make it sound like you mean it.......hope it works for you.

Ok, so I think my hymen might have broken, but I'm still a virgin. I'm only 14, and sex seems like a scary thing to me. I think it might have broken while putting a tampon in. Later this month, I have a doctors appt, for kidney stones, and they have to go up inside me. I'm worried that if it really did break, they'll tell my mom. She would freak out. hymens can usually break when using tampons, and can even break from activities like horseback riding
so even if you did break your hymen, it could be from a lot of activities (like masturbation too...but thats also awkward)
annddd the doctors will not tell your mom because it is illegal to tell parents things like that without the consent of their children
and if your mom does find out just say, "i always use tampons" -- and she'll most likely believe you, because tampons commonly break hymens.

Alright, well usually I'll agree 'age is just a number' but this situation...
My friend is a 15 year old girl and she's dating a 12 year old boy. I mean, yeah age is just a number but this is weird. Every since the begining of this school year I've been feeling really depressed. There are a lot of different reasons why. First of all, I dont have many friends. I have one close friend who I hang out with everyday, but sometimes she blows me off, which is understandable, to hang out with other people, and I wonder the halls alone, feeling like an idiot, wishing I were at home. I live in a small town and go to a small school so I already know everybody and its hard to make new friends when you're a sophmore in high school and everybody is separated by "levels of coolness".
Last year, life was great. I was a freshmen and I was dating a junior, who I fell for. We broke up after about 4 months and we pretty much lost all contact. Thats what hit me the hardest. I still love him but hes in love with his new girlfriend. I keep thinkin that I'll never find another guy because I've been single for months and everyday I tell myself things will get better but they never do.
I hate waking up everyday knowing that it will just be another sad, pathetic repeat of what happened the day before. I want out of this life. I want to drop out of school. Or move. Or die. I dont care anymore. Ive never felt like this before and Im really starting to scare myself. I keep thinking about killing myself. I've thought about it a couple times before but I always knew in the back of my mind that I would never do it. Now im not so sure.
Usually I would talk to someone about how im feeling to try to work things out but i have nobody to talk to. asking random people for advice on the internet is pointless too....i dont even know why im doing it. I just want to die. I want to stop hurting inside. there are so many other things going on in my life that i cant even explain on here because I dont want to tell anybody. I hate it so much.
please..........does anybody have any good advice. nothing like "try to make more friends" or "you'll get a new boyfriend, just put yourself out there" i need to hear something real. (link)

I used to live like that, hating day after day. I didn't have many friends, and it felt really horrible, just standing there or wandering the halls to kill time. I've felt suicidal many times before, and it's such a horrible feeling, to be unloved or unwanted. I still struggle with friends today, but things have gotten better
If you want to talk just ask, I've been through a lot lately. Stuff that movies are made of, and it's still troubling me. Family, friends, school, relationships, they're always nagging at me. I need some one to talk to also, maybe we can help each other out?
